Chamber Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1164132 Composed by Arianna Cunningham. Classical,Romantic Period. 55 pages. Arianna Cunningham #764482. Published by Arianna Cunningham (A0.1164132). A couple or a few years ago during the Pandemic, there was a Discord Server vs Server Competition going on, and one of the online virtual group communities out of all the other servers took part in a theme called Dreams. When the event started, I immediately started composing this beautiful composition, and chose the instrumentation for Uncommon Woodwinds (Alto Flute, English Horn, and Sopranino Sax), Strings, Harp, and Crotales. However, my submission entry didn't make it to the final Dreams EP as expected. But the admins of the online orchestra group told me that I can still host it as a community project, and it just so happens that I actually did do that, and I've gotten a good amount of submissions from the members themselves, went through all the mixing and editing, etc, before releasing the final performance. This piece is meant to be described about dreaming to a wonderful place you might've remembered, and haven't forgotten in a long time, experiencing the deja vu moments of what you think might've happened long time ago, hence the title, of course.

Soprano voice and tenor voice soli, SATB choir unaccompanied - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8323-E Composed by David Conte. Advanced/Collegiate. Secular, 21st Century, Americana, Children, Creation/Nature, Hope/Assurance. Instrument part. 9 pages. Duration 5 minutes, 42 seconds. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8323-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8323-E). UPC: 600313483233. English. The three a cappella choral pieces that comprise “A Whitman Triptych†were composed between 2012 and 2014. O Setting Sun was commissioned by the Madison Chamber Choir, Madison, Wisconsin, Anthony Cao, conductor, and was premiered on April 20th, 2012. “What is the Grass†was composed for Cappella SF, Ragnar Bohlin, conductor, and is being premiered on tonight’s concert. Facing West was commissioned in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge by the International Orange Chorale, Zane Fiala, conductor, and was premiered on May 27th, 2012. I first set Whitman to music in 1986,when I adapted part of “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloomed†as the basis for my composition “Invocation and Dance.†I went on to set “Good-Bye, My Fancy†for Male Chorus and Soprano Saxophone in 1992, and “Song of the Open Road†for Mixed Chorus and Piano in 2004. Like so many composers, I have found the visionary quality of Whitman’s verse inspiring; the vigor and intensity of the poetry seem naturally to draw out music. Facing West is drawn from the Children of Adam book from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. The full title of the poem is Facing West From California's Shores. Though Whitman never visited California, his biographer Justin Kaplan made the insightful observation that he imagined California's shores to be the starting point for a journey through time and culture. Here was Walt, 'a child, very old,' facing home again, looking over to it, joyous, as after long travel, growth, and sleep, asking: 'But where is what I started for, so long ago?/And why is it yet unfound?' The invitation from the International Orange Chorale to compose a piece in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge led me easily and naturally to this great poem. The tone of Facing West is rich and complex, and draws on one of Whitman's favorite themes of using travel to distant lands as a metaphor for spiritual development. In his poem, Whitman strikes notes of reflection, of longing for adventure, and ultimately ends with a question. The continuing relevance of this question is for me beautifully addressed by the contemporary American writer Edmund White in his 1980 book States of Desire. To paraphrase somewhat, White writes: California is where dreams may come true, and the problem it presents is whether, after all, we wanted these particular dreams to be fulfilled - or would we have preferred others? Did we know what price these dreams would exact? Did we anticipate the ways in which they would unsuit us for the business of daily life? Or should our notion of daily life itself be transformed? For Americans, California's coast is as far as one can go in establishing new roots and new ways of living. As a transplanted Midwesterner who has made California his home for nearly three decades, I experience the Golden Gate Bridge as a beautiful monument to the aspirations and dreams of a restless and inventive people, qualities that Whitman's poem captures perfectly. -David ConteDuration: 5:42

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215086 Composed by Johnny Mandel and Paul Francis Webster. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #811949. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1215086). The Shadow Of Your Smile is arranged as performed by famous jazz artist, Peter Nero. The elegant style of Mr. Nero is on full display in this standard jazz classic. Now you can learn to play it, just as this world-famous pianist did.The Shadow of Your Smile, also known as Love Theme from The Sandpiper, is a popular song. The music was written by Johnny Mandel with the lyrics written by Paul Francis Webster. The song was introduced in the 1965 film The Sandpiper, with a trumpet solo by Jack Sheldon and later became a minor hit for Tony Bennett (Johnny Mandel arranged and conducted his version as well). It won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year and the Academy Award for Best Original Song. In 2004 the song finished at number 77 in AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs poll of the top tunes in American cinema.  Lyrics Below:The shadow of your smileWhen you have goneWill color all my dreamsAnd light the dawnLook into my eyes, my love, and seeAll the lovely things, you are, to meOur wistful little starIt was far, too highA teardrop kissed your lipsAnd so, so did iNow when I remember springAnd every little lovely thingI will be rememberingThe shadow of your smileYour lovely smile

Choral Choir (SA) - Digital Download SKU: A0.873032 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary,Standards. Octavo. 6 pages. Sally Whitwell #3869015. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873032). Composer’s Note - DaybreakDuring the Winter of 2016, I journeyed to my hometown Canberra for a job interview and audition. It was for the head of the new Music Academy at Canberra Girls Grammar School, my old school. Which was kind of weird. As part of my specifically designed interview/audition experience, I was required to run a composition workshop, and this song Daybreak is the result of that.It was an odd experience to return to the scenes of my youth, to see how much everything had changed. So many new buildings, so many of the old buildings repurposed, so many more opportunities afforded to the girls at the school now than we could ever have dreamed in the late 80s and early 90s. It was pretty early in the morning when I arrived, the winter mist just beginning to clear to one of those perfect sunny cold Canberra days. The school is directly down the road from Parliament House, and as the mist cleared to reveal that magnificent flagpole above the treetops surrounding the school, I decided that the joy and optimism of a new day would be the perfect subject for our composing collaboration. The girls were very generous with their ideas. The song was finished within a few days and I sent it back to the school. I think they liked it? It was hard to tell from their response. I didn’t get the job. (No surprise to me, as I have almost never been successful at auditions and job interviews. Fortunately people just know my work, ask me to do stuff, and I just say yes. Haha.) But I’m a big believer in creativity as a way of healing. I still really like our song we wrote, those lovely girls and I, so I am releasing it into the wild.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1393785 By Rita Coolidge. By John Barry and Tim Rice. Arranged by John Langley (for Studio Orchestrations). Film/TV,Pop,Standards. 103 pages. Www.studio-orchestrations.com #977256. Published by www.studio-orchestrations.com (A0.1393785). This classic song by John Barry and Tim Rice originally sung by Rita Coolidge comes from Roger Moore's last Bond appearance in Octopussy. This is a film very much of its time, many dry double-entendre from our leading man for sure which might raise a Moore-like eyebrow these days. Likewise the song here is perhaps one of the lesser played James Bond title tracks too but it is a charming departure from some of the higher octane anthems like Thunderball, Live and let die or even Goldfinger and returns us to the gentler musical era / genre of From Russia with love, For your eyes only and You only live twice. So why not program this in your film night for singer and orchestra. In this version we have the original Rita Coolidge performancxe key (starting in E major) which is dusky and mellow but is also available on this website a semitone/half-step higher (strarting in F major) which might suit some female performers ranges better.INSTRUMENTATION:2 Flutes2 Oboes2 Clarinets[Optional 2nd clarinet dbl. Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576012 Composed by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. David Warin Solomons #46379. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576012). This is one of a suite of organ pieces composed by David W Solomons performed by David Carlston Williams Registrations are as suggested by the performer. (the sound sample is from the CD, available from this site) The suggested order for this suite is: 1. Passacaglia: based on an ostinato passage in 3 time. The idea behind the passacaglia relates to the origin of the word, it is basically a gentle stroll down the street (pasar la calle in Spanish, which was converted into Passacaglia in Italian) 2. Dorina: a descriptive piece in Dorian mode based on a song about a cat, from the aptly named village of Chattevoix, who stalks, but never catches, a little bird. 3. Playtime: also about a cat, the composer's own cat who is playful and rushes around the house but occasionally stopping to pummel the soft furnishings. 4. Early Evening in Camden Town: a more serious and sad piece - in 3-3-2 time. It is an evocation of the poor folk in Camden and their dreams of what could be, if only….. It was originally a song, which the composer wrote when he was living in London, based on a poem by fellow Londoner Sandra Erös The streets are part of a toy town, waiting to be played with…. 5. The Bishop's Dance: a curious and comical piece in 11 time (3, 3, 3, 2). It comes from the legend of Robin Hood, in which Robin meets the bishop of Hereford, who had hoped to get the better of him, but Robin prevails and forces him to dance. The clumsy attempts of the ungainly Bishop to obey Robin's commands cause great merriment among the merry men To quote our vicar, Rev Barbara, after the recital For me music paints a picture, and, for that, I have got this picture of someone going for a stroll in their village and then they came across a very old cat wandering down the street imaging it could catch birds but never catching them. And then it would lie down for a sleep and dream of the days when it was a kitten.... It was a very reflective programme and turns our mind about What for the Autumn, what do we need to do next.. it really did fit in with the mood of the year, as we turn towards building up the programme for next year... So thank you, it gave us time to reflect in a very beautiful manner.... The suite is also available as separate pieces (with performances by David Carlston Williams).
