String Quartet, String Orchestra, Playable by any size string ensemble from quartet upwards - Early Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Various. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. The Best Hymns of All Time<br> Arranged for Strings by Colin Kirkpatrick<br> <br> Book 3<br> <br> We’re really excited to present the third and last book of our collection of sixty of the best-loved hymns ever composed. The hymns are scored in four parts and could be used with virtually any combination of stringed instruments: string quartet or quintet or any size string ensemble. They are presented in a set of three books and include full four-part instrumental scores plus four separate parts for 1st violin, 2nd violin, viola and cello (and double bass). The bass part is also optional because it doubles the cello part an octave lower. There’s also an optional but useful simplified keyboard part intended for less experienced keyboard players. The left hand plays only the bass part most of the time, with the right hand part kept as simple as possible. The piano part too means that you can use the arrangements as solos, duets or trios. To make the music accessible to less experienced players, the range of the notes has been kept fairly low so that many of the arrangements can be played in first position. However, to produce a brighter and richer sound, a few of the more experienced violinists could play an octave higher. You can hear this effect in the audio samples.<br> <br> These arrangements are intended either as stand-alone pieces that could be used as interludes in a service, or they could be used to accompany solo, choral or congregational singing. This is essential music for schools and many churches and contains probably all the hymns you’ll ever need. The scores and all the parts of Book 2 are contained in a single 65-page PDF file.<br> <br> Book 3 contains the following twenty popular hymns: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name (Miles Lane); All things Bright and Beautiful (Bright and Beautiful); Alleluia, Sing to Jesus (Hyfrydol); Blessed Assurance (Assurance); Come, Ye Thankful People, Come (St George’s Windsor); Father, Hear the Prayer we Offer (Sussex & Gott Will's Machen); For the Beauty of the Earth (Dix); Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken (Austrian hymn); How Firm a Foundation (Foundation); Jesu, Lover of my Soul (Hollingside); Jesus Loves Me, This I Know (Jesus Loves Me); Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee (Hymn to Joy); Kum Ba Yah (Afro-American folksong); Mine Eyes have Seen the Glory (Battle Hymn of the Republic); O God, Our Help In Ages Past (St. Anne); Morning has Broken (Bunessan); Praise to the Lord the Almighty (Lob den Herren); Shall We Gather at the River? (Hanson Place); The God of Abraham Praise (Leoni); When Peace Like a River (Ville du Havre).<br> <br> The audio samples include (1) All things Bright and Beautiful, (2) How Firm a Foundation, (3) Kum Ba Yah and (4) Morning has Broken. The music has been set in string-friendly keys so they are not compatible with the brass collection of the same name.

Soprano, tenor, Knabensoprano, flugelhorn, mixed choir and chamber orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7038 Teil I: Schwarz vor Augen... · Teil II: ...und es ward Licht!. Composed by Harald Weiss. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 100' 0. Schott Music - Digital #Q7038. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7038). Latin • German. On letting go(Concerning the selection of the texts) In the selection of the texts, I have allowed myself to be motivated and inspired by the concept of “letting goâ€. This appears to me to be one of the essential aspects of dying, but also of life itself. We humans cling far too strongly to successful achievements, whether they have to do with material or ideal values, or relationships of all kinds. We cannot and do not want to let go, almost as if our life depended on it. As we will have to practise the art of letting go at the latest during our hour of death, perhaps we could already make a start on this while we are still alive. Tagore describes this farewell with very simple but strikingly vivid imagery: “I will return the key of my doorâ€. I have set this text for tenor solo. Here I imagine, and have correspondingly noted in a certain passage of the score, that the protagonist finds himself as though “in an ocean†of voices in which he is however not drowning, but immersing himself in complete relaxation. The phenomenon of letting go is described even more simply and tersely in Psalm 90, verse 12: “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdomâ€. This cannot be expressed more plainly.I have begun the requiem with a solo boy’s voice singing the beginning of this psalm on a single note, the note A. This in effect says it all. The work comes full circle at the culmination with a repeat of the psalm which subsequently leads into a resplendent “lux aeternaâ€. The intermediate texts of the Requiem which highlight the phenomenon of letting go in the widest spectrum of colours originate on the one hand from the Latin liturgy of the Messa da Requiem (In Paradisum, Libera me, Requiem aeternam, Mors stupebit) and on the other hand from poems by Joseph von Eichendorff, Hermann Hesse, Rabindranath Tagore and Rainer Maria Rilke. All texts have a distinctive positive element in common and view death as being an organic process within the great system of the universe, for example when Hermann Hesse writes: “Entreiß dich, Seele, nun der Zeit, entreiß dich deinen Sorgen und mache dich zum Flug bereit in den ersehnten Morgen†[“Tear yourself way , o soul, from time, tear yourself away from your sorrows and prepare yourself to fly away into the long-awaited morningâ€] and later: “Und die Seele unbewacht will in freien Flügen schweben, um im Zauberkreis der Nacht tief und tausendfach zu leben†[“And the unfettered soul strives to soar in free flight to live in the magic sphere of the night, deep and thousandfoldâ€]. Or Joseph von Eichendorff whose text evokes a distant song in his lines: “Und meine Seele spannte weit ihre Flügel aus. Flog durch die stillen Lande, als flöge sie nach Haus†[“And my soul spread its wings wide. Flew through the still country as if homeward bound.â€]Here a strong romantically tinged occidental resonance can be detected which is however also accompanied by a universal spirit going far beyond all cultures and religions. In the beginning was the sound Long before any sort of word or meaningful phrase was uttered by vocal chords, sounds, vibrations and tones already existed. This brings us back to the music. Both during my years of study and at subsequent periods, I had been an active participant in the world of contemporary music, both as percussionist and also as conductor and composer. My early scores had a somewhat adventurous appearance, filled with an abundance of small black dots: no rhythm could be too complicated, no register too extreme and no harmony too dissonant. I devoted myself intensely to the handling of different parameters which in serial music coexist in total equality: I also studied aleatory principles and so-called minimal music.I subsequently emigrated and took up residence in Spain from where I embarked on numerous travels over the years to India, Africa and South America. I spent repeated periods during this time as a resident in non-European countries. This meant that the currents of contemporary music swept past me vaguely and at a great distance. What I instead absorbed during this period were other completely new cultures in which I attempted to immerse myself as intensively as possible.I learned foreign languages and came into contact with musicians of all classes and styles who had a different cultural heritage than my own: I was intoxicated with the diversity of artistic potential.Nevertheless, the further I distanced myself from my own Western musical heritage, the more this returned insistently in my consciousness. The scene can be imagined of sitting somewhere in the middle of the Brazilian jungle surrounded by the wailing of Indians and out of the blue being provided with the opportunity to hear Beethoven’s late string quartets: this can be a heart-wrenching experience, akin to an identity crisis. This type of experience can also be described as cathartic. Whatever the circumstances, my “renewed†occupation with the “old†country would not permit me to return to the point at which I as an audacious young student had maltreated the musical parameters of so-called contemporary music. A completely different approach would be necessary: an extremely careful approach, inching my way gradually back into the Western world: an approach which would welcome tradition back into the fold, attempt to unfurl the petals and gently infuse this tradition with a breath of contemporary life.Although I am aware that I will not unleash a revolution or scandal with this approach, I am nevertheless confident as, with the musical vocabulary of this Requiem, I am travelling in an orbit in which no ballast or complex structures will be transported or intimated: on the contrary, I have attempted to form the message of the texts in music with the naivety of a “homecomerâ€. Large Ensemble Clarinet,Flute,Harp,Horn,Multi-Percussion,Timpani,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889417 Composed by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 32 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #3490179. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889417). for the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry,Moon Over The Rising Sun was written very early in the morning while the night fades away giving birth to a sun rise. Conceived for a mixed ensemble of nine to 10 performers. 2 Flutes, Clarinet, Horn, guitar, Harp, Violin, Viola, 1 Timpanist, 1 or 2 Percussionists. The piece has an intime atmosphere very common in chamber music. Very easy to perform and very flexible, it is ideal for schools or when various kinds of mixed ensembles are taking place. With very few effort from the players, it has a large effect on the audience. As I said the piece is very flexible, for exemple the shakuhachi flute can be replaced by a soprano recorder or any other kind of flute with a similar register. A piano could eventually replace the harp. Due to a certain Tutti caracter on the string section, more violins, violas and cellos would easily join the group. One Cello or Double Bass „Pizzicato could reenforce the left hand on the harp part. Other wise and when possible, it should be performed as written. I also have added some interpretation symbols like fortes and pianos but only as a personal suggestion for an interpretation. Of course the artists must decide how they prefer to perform the piece and should have the last word on their performances. The score was written on Finale. The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was performed with samplers from Garritan and conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This is the first time that this version is published in Sheet Music Plus or anywhere else! This piece was inspired by some aspects of western, eastern, African and american cultures. The list of inspiring human phenomena and achievement within art and music never find an end. There is so much to learn! For now let the World play music. Music is the ultimate Universal language. Imagine we all playing music with each other. The World full of music schools and instruments instead of military camps and weapons. Millions of beautiful people with music instruments in their hands playing music with each other all around the World. Our war lords would start opening music shops for a change. And we would live much happier!!! Music Can Save The World Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the cover design, all the Love and inspiration. Special Thanks to Nina and Stray Queen Mimi for my Family, all their Love Patience and Compassion. True Love Forever. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file.I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music.Love ForeverSheers! Luis Anjos Teixeira

Violin part availableMusic by Mark O’Connor34 pages - 15:00 minutes in length Let Us Move (for vocal chorus and violin solo) composed by Mark O'Connor was written in early 2000. This choral work was commissioned by the superb Gloriea Dei Cantores choir from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After finding the text from an old hymn, Hail The Day That Sees Him Rise, O'Connor finished the choral piece to include unusual singing techniques with no other accompaniment except a violin obbligato weaving in and out of the choral textures for a unique combination of sound. The performance length is sixteen minutes. In the recording's liner notes, Mr. O'Connor writes: on a cold February morning I walked into their church, their house of worship and community. I experienced an inspirational devotion to music I'd never known. Under the leadership of Mother Betty, Gloria Dei Cantores voices sounded like angels descending from Heaven, delivering and rendering my music in a way that seemed to shake the rafters and elevate the spirit. It was a magnificent sound borne of discipline and motivation, faithful love for craft and result. A glorious celebration... a joyous melding of mission and gift. For this experience I am truly grateful. Praise God and Let Us Move!.
