Five Australian Scenes for String Orchestra - 5. A Day at the Beach

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414027 Composed by Martin Lass. Chamber,Children,Classical,Instructional. 43 pages. MA Lass & I Lass #995794. Published by MA Lass & I Lass (A0.1414027). Martin Lass is an Australian violinist, composer, arranger, and teacher. He is most well known for his performance career as a classical crossover and popular music artist with 11 CD recordings, numerous awards and accolades, and performances with the likes of Luciano Pavorotti, Julio Iglesias, and Joan Baez. Before this, he was a founding member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, as well as playing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. When he is not spending time with his wife of 46 years, his three middle-aged children, and his two grandchildren, he spends his time and energy teaching, writing, arranging, and performing.Five Australian Scenes for String Orchestra was conceived with specific iconic Australian places in mind, as well as with the intention to convey the experience of these places programmatically through the music. From this point of view, the pieces could have just as successfully been called Australian Days. As such, each piece represents a kind of day journey in microcosm, like a travel diary set to music. The points of interest in each day are indicated sequentially in the music. The pieces were written with the intermediate student string orchestra in mind. As such, they explore a wide variety of string techniques, dynamic and tonal contrasts, styles, and moods. Although the writing never takes a student out of first position barring a few cello passages, and the fingering avoids the use of cello forward extensions and minimises high 3s for the upper strings, the technical, rhythmic, ensemble, and intonational challenges put these pieces at the intermediate level. There are ossias and other alternatives for greater challenge or greater ease. Fingering has been offered where appropriate. And bowing has been meticulously indicated. This particular piece, “A Day at the Beach,†is set in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in QLD. On a perfect summer day, one heads for the beach where fun and games, swimming, surfing, sun-baking, a picnic, and more games are the order of the day before heading home, full of sand, sun, food, and tired satisfaction.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110965 Composed by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP). 20th Century,Classical,Historic,Multicultural,World. Score. 24 pages. Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) #713232. Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.1110965). Colorful, challenging piano solo traces an Ojibwe family’s harrowing journey by canoe down the Brule River and across Lake Superior to safety Canoe (2022) by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) For solo piano Duration 9:22 Difficulty 5 advanced Canoe (2022) by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP), commissioned by Dr. Joseph Choi for solo piano, tells a harrowing story through music of the composer’s Ojibwe ancestor, Wabegiah, and her three young children. Wabegiah grew up at Upper Lake St. Croix in Wisconsin, married the French trader Mr. Couture, and had three children. Mr. Couture died suddenly just as the tensions with the Sioux became quite threatening. To protect her children from being killed by the Sioux, she took them on the long journey in a birch bark canoe down the Brule River and along the coast of Lake Superior all the way to Sault Ste. Marie. As you would expect, much of the music represents water, but it also captures moments during their flight. Loud dissonant chords mark Mr. Couture’s death and Wabegiah’s grief. The unsettling fear motive in Locrian mode predominates as they begin to flee. As they head away from danger, the courage theme follows them downstream. In a dissonant conversation with an Ojibwe man on the Brule River, he refused to give the hungry travelers food, but told them to continue to the river’s mouth to find Wabegiah’s aunt and uncle. The restful and nourishing family time on the shores of Lake Superior allows for variations on the family theme, playful, sleepy, and reflecting on the coming of autumn. With the courage theme as the subject, a fugue tracks their difficult passage across Lake Superior to the safety of Sault Ste. Marie. Recounted by Eliza Morrison, a daughter from Wabegiah’s second marriage, this journey took place in the early 1830s. The three children were born in 1828, 1829, and 1830. The youngest of the children was Angelique, the composer’s great great grandmother.

Published by Moni Bergo (A0.1012747). Music and song composed by meVampire's dance I live between two worlds Between trash and slums This is a dream or reality ? The lie or the truth? While I wait for sunsets I look at the sun and horizons And breathe freedom and my immortality Desire for the infinite, Who has not ever tried ? That need to know that the stronger we are Invincible and powerful without the burden of age Over the centuries and the millennia Always gorgeous 20 years old And then dance To the rhythm of the Vampire Do you feel my breath Let us give this eternal night And then dance The senses amplified sharp teeth let's see who can stop us around the fire like wolves, red eyes, a bit 'fierce, we move in packs, invisible and fast , we are thieves thoughts ,so forgotten who you were or roots or ties ,no land limits And then dance To the rhythm of the Vampire Do you feel my breath Let us give this eternal night And then dance The senses amplified sharp teeth let's see who can stop us The mania destroys Hunger afflicts us But it will not be the food that will satisfy Torments and regrets, sad feelings, Nightime falling erase them We are shadows at night ,The heart that no beats We languid slaves the Voodoo rituals The pale faces, The ambiguous smiles Put the cross, you will not need Strange characters So wild and free ,But in this society ,Nothing scarier ago I donate my blood every day to The state or the government the Vampires are we ,There are monsters and vultures Those imprisoned vampires, In the faded pages Elegant, charming, So beautiful and in high places and in they I recognize that mania that is also mine My hunger to know ,With food can not be satisfied And then dance ,And crossing that border Now there is an end to what I can imagine And then dance, I sad renegade I lost soul, Who do not know who to give my heart And then dance ,If you are not anyone ,If you lost in the journey You can not find a post to be filled Look in the mirror You can see my reflection? Small Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596601 Composed by Juan MarÃa Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional. Score and parts. 7 pages. Juan Maria Solare #6057663. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596601). Los ñoquis del veintinueve – The Gnocchi of the Twenty-Ninth – by Juan MarÃa Solare Audio: https://soundcloud.com/mihovilcevic/juan-maria-solare-los-noquis/s-bOICUjXTDyS Comments The order of these 29 numbers is rigorously random, as is the election of the six sizes of the fonts (12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 picas). In order to determinate both dimensions I used the program I-Ching by Andrew Culver (assistant to John Cage in the '80 and '90), a program that is distributed as shareware in internet (thanks). The colour version follows the following criterion: - (a) prime numbers (see green) - (b) multiples of 3 (red) - (c) all other numbers (blue) ...if it ends up being good music then what matter the procedure involved? (David Cope, New Music Composition, p. 117) About the expression los ñoquis del 29: The Italian word gnocchi (gnocchi is plural of gnocco, which meaning is lump) is used in Spanish often as ñoqui or ñoquis. In the RÃo de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay) are traditionally eaten on the 29th of each month, the day before payday, when people has less money. This tradition is called los ñoquis del 29 - the gnocchi of the twenty-ninth. There are naturally other versions. The most picturesque comes from a legend of the VIIIth century (or even IIIrd century). A young physician called Pantaleon (Panteleimon) lived in Nicosia (Cyprus), who after converting to Christianity, journeyed through the North of Italy. There he practiced miraculous healings due to which he was canonized. In a certain occasion, he asked some Venetian villagers for bread, and they invited him to share their poor table. Grateful, he announced them a year of excellent fishing and harvest. The prophecy was fulfilled. Saint Pantaleon was consecrated –along with Saint Mark– patron of Venice. That episode occurred on a 29th, for this reason that day is recalled with a simple food represented by gnocchi. The accompanying ritual of putting money below the dish represents the yearning of new gift. Outside the culinary realm, certain Argentine and Uruguayan functionaries are dismissively called ñoquis, because they only go to work at the end of the month, to justify their salary or simply to cash in for a not fulfilled work. This meaning was spread since the 1970's. Premiere: Luis Mihovilcevic, Saturday 25 October 2008, Centro Cultural Islas Malvinas, La Plata (Argentina). * JMS * DonSolare@gmail.com *https://soundcloud.com/mihovilcevic/juan-maria-solare-los-noquis/s-bOICUjXTDyS

Please note that this is the score only, parts can be purchased separately.Coal River Valley Rhapsody is a musical journey through the Tasmanian Coal River Valley, which is best known for its food products, such as dairy, as well as its wineries. The Coal River Valley is a predominantly agrarian region in the South East of Tasmania, with the town of Richmond as its regional centre. The region is also known for its convict history and colonial era buildings and infrastructure. The region features the historical Richmond Bridge, which is recognised as the oldest bridge in Australia. The bridge spans over the Coal River and was built by convict labour. Construction commenced in 1823, with the bridge formally opened in 1825. The town of Richmond was proclaimed a police district in 1824. It is also important to acknowledge the First Nations people of the region, the Mumirimina people. According to the Richmond 200 website, the land that is now known as Richmond and the Coal River Valley was home to the Oyster Bay nation for millennia. It is noted that the establishment of the police district in Richmond significantly “contributed to the ultimate destruction of the Mumirimina band†(Richmond 200, 2023).Although this composition has been written to commemorate the bicentenary of the Richmond Bridge, it is intended to evoke images of the landscape and the river, as well as acknowledge the past of the region, represent the present and look forwards to the region’s future.Further information can be found here: https://www.richmond200.com
