Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589786 By John Denver. By David Leslie Froggatt, Jane Barnes, and Johnny Marks. Arranged by David McKeown. Children,Christmas,Country,Holiday,Rock. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6096123. Published by David McKeown (A0.589786). This version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is arranged by David McKeown as a duet for one Clarinet and one Viola. The song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, was written in 1949 by Johhny Marks. The Rudolph story was written by Marks’ brother-in-law, Robert L May, a decade earlier. The success of the song was guaranteed when it was recorded by Gene Autry, a huge star at the time. Initially Gene Autry didn’t like the song and was only persuaded to record it by his wife. She obviously knew best as Rudolph went on to become the second best-selling Christmas record of all time after White Christmas, with versions by everyone from the Jackson Five to Alvin and the Chipmunks. This duet version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is based on the Gene Autry version, with a short introduction, and three choruses of the melody, with a key change and varied accompaniment throughout. Rhythms are simple in a swing style and the range is conservative, so this arrangement is ideal for players at an intermediate level. Click the link above to listen to a full Youtube performance of the Clarinet version of this duet. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse, (including many Christmas carols and songs), at https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.526400 By John Denver. By David Leslie Froggatt, Jane Barnes, and Johnny Marks. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Children,Christmas,Holiday,Pop,Traditional. 5 pages. Sarah Cellobat Chaffee #6640829. Published by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee (A0.526400). In 1939, the character of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was created by author Robert L. May as an assignment from the Montgomery Ward Company. Soon after, May's brother-in-law Johnny Marks decided that Rudolph needed his own song, and the rest is history! This song was first recorded in 1949 by Gene Autry, and it shot to the top of the charts and became an instant holiday classic. It has since been recorded by countless different artists and made into a number of TV and movie adaptations, so you can't go wrong bringing this one out for Christmas parties! This arrangement for violin and cello duet is fun to listen to and just as much fun to play -- it will be great for Christmas parties, cocktail hour, solo & ensemble contests, or any other event that needs some festive cheer. This is a simple, early-intermediate-level arrangement that makes a big impact; it will be easily playable for students and sightreadable for professionals. Sarah “Cellobat†Chaffee is an in-demand acoustic & electric cellist and string arranger. Currently, she performs with legendary rock band Aerosmith in their “Deuces Are Wild†residency show, and she is the principal cellist for the Raiders House Band, playing for a crowd of 60,000 at all of the team's home games. She also plays with many other groups including Premiere Wedding Music, Bella Electric Strings, the Femmes Of Rock, and David Perrico’s Pop Strings Orchestra. Sarah has performed and recorded with numerous other artists including Disturbed, Mötley Crüe, Celine Dion, Halsey, Michael Bublé, Sarah Brightman, and Lady A. She is the exclusive arranger for a number of award-winning wedding and event companies all across the United States, including Premiere Wedding Music, Las Vegas Music Oasis, and Impulse Strings, and she has created custom arrangements for many other ensembles all over the world. Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215499 By John Denver. By Johnny Marks. Arranged by Kyle L. McKinzey. Christmas,Holiday. Score and Parts. 34 pages. KyleMac Music #812252. Published by KyleMac Music (A0.1215499). Gene Autry, the Singing Cowboy, made this song famous in 1949. Based upon a book by Marks’ brother-in-law, Robert L. May, Marks wanted to put the popular 1939 Montgomery Ward story into song. Johnny Marks, a decorated World War II hero, wrote several popular Christmas songs besides Rudolph. The song’s translation into several languages even had an effect on Finnish Christmas tradition – Rudolph is now head of Joulupukki’s sleigh (the Finnish Santa)! The only difference is that the Finnish reindeer don’t fly. This arrangement has a fun swing style to it. Harmonization is slightly more advanced from a Grade I tune, but the rhythms and ranges are very approachable for young musicians. The style lets them experience a standard swing feel. The percussion is written for a drum set but can be separated as a traditional part for concert band. Sleighbells can have as many players as you want. I often had children come from the audience and give them little toy sleigh bells to play. This was always a big hit.I hope your students and audiences (and you) have fun with this piece. I appreciate all comments, questions, and critiques. kylemacmusic@gmail.com.

Children,Christmas,Country,Holiday,Rock. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6096193. Published by David McKeown (A0.589817). This version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is arranged by David McKeown as a duet for one Violin and one Viola.
