Be Merciful to Me ~ Psalm 57 (for SA or 2-Part Choir with Piano accompaniment)

Choral Choir (SA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565306 By Sharon Wilson. By Sharon Wilson. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Contemporary,Easter,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 17 pages. Sharon Wilson #3872557. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565306). This Scripture song based on Psalm 57 verses 1 and 7-10 is formatted for a SOPRANO-ALTO or 2-part Choir with piano accompaniment. This 2-part arrangement is in the key of G major with the vocal ranges the same for both parts: the first B below middle C to the first B above middle C (B3 to B4). The limited, moderate vocal range makes this song accessible to just about every combination of voices (SA, AA, AB, TB, etc.). This is a straight-forward arrangement with the SOPRANO (Part 1) carrying the melody throughout and the ALTO (Part 2) adding a non-complex harmony. Duration 3:00.This Psalm is a prayer written by David while in a cave when he was fleeing from Saul (1 Samuel 22). It is presented here as a song of meditation and praise, drawing the listeners into an atmosphere of prayer and trust in God. The simplicity of the melody allows the vocalists to focus on the words and dynamics as the audience is drawn to the beauty of God's Word expressed musically. The purchase price includes the 9-page combined score with both vocal and piano parts on each page plus a separate VOCALS only score (4 pages) and a PIANO only score (3 pages). For duet use where only one copy is needed, this arrangement is also available as a single purchase. The lyrics were adapted from the King James Version (KJV) and the World English Version (WEB) and are printed below:Lyrics:VERSE 1Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,For my soul takes refuge in you,In the shadow of your wings.Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, For in the shadow of your wingsMy soul will always findRefuge, refuge, refuge in You.VERSE 2My heart is fixed on you, O God, my heart is fixed on you.I’ll sing and give you praises.I’ll wake up at dawn and give you thanks.I’ll sing your praises to all people,For your love is great. You loving kindness reaches far beyond the starry skies.Wake up, wake up, wake up and sing.ENDINGBe merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,For my soul takes refuge in the shadow of your wings. For my soul takes refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Choral Alto Voice,Soprano Saxophone (SATB) - Level 3 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1127139 By Bob Rowe. By Bob Rowe. This edition: Interactive Download. Classical. Octavo. 12 pages. Duration 205. Bob Rowe #4zCpyXGf1RUqh1QxfYilbW. Published by Bob Rowe (A0.1127139). Key: C major.I originally wrote this piece back in April 2020 during quarantine. However, I decided to make some changes to make it even better and I'm proud of what I came up with. The text is by famous Harlem Renaissance poet, Langston Hughes. He is one of my favorite poets. I always dreamed I'd write a choral piece using his text and my dream has become a reality. Text I am God Without one friend Alone in my purity World without end Below me young lovers Tread the sweet ground But I am God I cannot come down Spring! Life is Love Love is life only Better to be human Than God and lonely.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.782529 Composed by Tyler Merideth. Christian,Contemporary,Graduation,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Tyler Merideth #4642055. Published by Tyler Merideth (A0.782529). This setting of Isaiah 43: 1-2 has a very special meaning to me. The first time I encountered this text in a piece of choral music was with the very first Youth Choir I directed. It was because of the great experience directing that choir I realized that my true calling was in music education. These words have always been on my heart and I knew one day I wanted to set it to music myself. During that time in my life I was very passionate about TaizeÌ worship music. This philosophy of worship is where a simple text is repeated numerous times with a possible descant appearing. The idea is that you allow God to speak to you in those repetitions rather than taking powerful texts for granted. I gently borrowed this concept as a starting point for this composition. An original hymn with text by Kathryn Hales below.YouTube video: https://youtu.be/VNBnN3F9N10 When your well is dry, your life seems in a drought, When problems loom large, and nothing works out, When your soul is parched, you’re weary and tired, There’s no spark in the coals that once flowed with fire. Then…Come to the fountain. (Chorus) The Fountain of Life that never runs dry, The source of all hope wipes all tears from the eye, God’s Living Water, always clean and pure, Will quench your thirst; His promise is sure. Without Living Water the soul shrivels and withers, Heed the Lord’s call: Come to Me, Hither. Without Living Water problems keep growing, So come to the artesian. It’s peace ever flowing. So…Come to the fountain Repeat chorus

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019364 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Kevin Longley #6322997. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019364). Living, Springs Of Living Water Church Anthem for SATB and Piano composed in 2014. Inspiration While attending Easter Church Service in 2014 I suddenly got the idea for this piece. Throughout the service I kept humming the melody to myself so I wouldn't forget it. By the time I got home I had the entire piece worked out. I quickly wrote it down and within a couple of weeks had the basic structure created. It's rare that this occurs for me but is a testament to the inspiration of God during Easter. The style of the music is somewhat impressionistic with a flowing nature that brings peace to the listener. The lyrics are all biblical; slightly modified. The Music Impressionistic in nature it starts with a gently flowing accompaniment followed by unison voices quietly speaking of the Living Water. After the initial A section the accompaniment changes into a more static but moving style as the lyrics speak to our belief and our needs. This is followed by a dramatic transition to the opening theme now embellished with a sort of question answer back and forth between the words Living and Water with the answer always resolving to the latter word. The piece quietly ends as it began. I will always remember the Easter of 2014 for Gods inspiration that created this piece.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270160 By Arlo Guthrie. By Arlo Guthrie. Arranged by Craig Hanson. A Cappella,Comedy,Folk. Octavo. 6 pages. Edition Craig Hanson #862589. Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1029966 Composed by June Foster, Ben Tibbetts. Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. June Foster #5996641. Published by June Foster (A0.1029966). Hope that Lasts is written for SAB choir with a trio and is appropriate for church services throughout the year, especially services with a theme of hope and encouragement. The message of this song is hope. The verses are intended to represent God's words to us, in which He encourages and guides us along our paths. The voicing-three individuals singing in unison-is meant to represent the three parts of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.vs. 1 I have a plan just for you,I have prepared you something new.I will protect, I will provide, I’ll always be there by your side.vs 3. Watch me and see what I do, I will take care of you. Now I want you to understand, The hopeful future I have planned. The chorus intentionally switches between singular and plural, demonstrating the importance of both an individual and a corporate relationship with God. After the last verse, the chorus changes to demonstrate that we are strengthened and assured by what He tells us. Suggested Scripture passages: Isaiah 43:18-19, Philippians 3:13-14, I Thessalonians 1:2, Jeremiah 29:11, and Colossians 3:2.Chorus: Will you make a way for me, Lead me along this path? Will you show me where to go, And give me hope that lasts? Will you make a way for us, Lead us along this path? Will you show us where to go, And give us hope that lasts? Also available congregational version item number SO.895371
