The Story of a Leader

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1143904 Composed by Igor Korneitchouk. 20th Century,A Cappella,Contemporary,Religious. Octavo. 37 pages. Studio at the Post #744209. Published by Studio at the Post (A0.1143904). Duration: 16 minutes, 33 pp. Description: Exodus is a great story that belongs to everyone. Not only is it central to Judaism, not only is it integral to the Christian Bible, it is an immortal story that has been, and continues to be, an inspiration to oppressed peoples everywhere on this planet. It is relevant not just as ancient scripture but as living text, to be rediscovered by each new generation of an ever-widening Family of Man. The theme of struggle against oppression and slavery was just as relevant to the early Christians persecuted in Ancient Rome as it was relevant to the American Civil Rights movement of the 1960's, just as relevant to the Soviet Jews wishing to emigrate as it is to the South African Blacks resisting Apartheid. From the Dark Ages and the Spanish Inquisition, to Ghandi's emancipation of India, to the Holocaust, to, full-circle, the ongoing struggles in Palestine today, the story of Exodus is a guiding light in a dim and often grim world. According to the composer: The Story of a Leader is a collection of ‘re-chorales’ I created one summer when I was totally immersed in a post-educational obsession with the 371 Chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach. We used to study these to learn the rules of harmony and voice-leading (no parallel fifths, avoid crossed voices, etc.) at the Cleveland Institute of Music where I began my compositional career. That summer, now a professor of music in my own right, I discovered many broken and bent rules by the master himself and, along with the glory of being able to work through these Chorales myself at the piano, I felt an incredible feeling of liberation and possibilities unmediated by instructors of music theory. I began by stripping away all that Bach wrote, leaving only the hymn tunes which were not his to begin with. These tunes existed long before Bach used them for his tonal experiments, some attributed to Martin Luther, or someone else, others simply listed as ‘anonymous’. The same is true for the texts, which were then translated into English mostly in the 19th century (the provenance of each can be found herein on the first page of each of my reharmonizations). In some cases I modified the text to fit the context. I selected 12 of these ‘re-chorales,’ linking them together based on their texts in a kind of logic that worked for me, and created a narrative that told The Story of a Leader (Moses). This story is highlighted in the music with such techniques as cross-modal harmonies, points of imitation, a beer drinking song in one instance, and in another, to symbolize the parting of the seas for Moses’ people, an inversion of the soprano line in the bass..

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1227903 By 101 String Orchestra. By Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 10 pages. Timothy Stapay #823903. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1227903). This arrangement of The Last Time I Saw Paris is written as played by piano artist, Liberace. It contains an introduction, by Liberace, using parts of the French song, Clair De Lune by Claude Debussy. The Last Time I Saw Paris is a song composed by Jerome Kern, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, published in 1940. It was sung in the 1941 film Lady Be Good by Ann Sothern.By December 1940, six versions of the song were on the charts, with Kate Smith having exclusive radio rights for the song for six weeks. The song catered to a wartime nostalgia for songs about European cities following the Second World War Battle of France (which brought Paris under Nazi control), with A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square also proving popular. The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1941. This was Kern's second Academy Award for Best Original Song (following his success with The Way You Look Tonight in 1936), and Hammerstein's first. Władziu Valentino Liberace(May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor. A child prodigy born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin, he enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world!Lyrics:(Verse)A lady known as ParisRomantic and charmingHas left her old companionsAnd faded from viewLonely men with lonely eyes are seeking her in vainThe streets are where they wereBut there's no sign of herShe has left the Seine(Chorus)The last time I saw ParisHer heart was warm and gayI heard the laughter of her heartIn every street cafeThe last time I saw ParisHеr trees were dressеd for springAnd lovers walked beneath those treesAnd birds had songs to singI dodged the same old taxicabsThat I had dodged for yearsThe chorus of their squeaking hornsWas music to my ears The last time I saw ParisHer heart was warm and gayNo matter how they change herI'll remember her that wayI'll think of happy hoursAnd people who shared themOld women selling flowersIn markets at dawn(Bridge)Children who applauded Punch and Judy in the parkAnd those who danced at night and kept our Paris brightTill the town went dark(Chorus)The last time I saw ParisHer heart was warm and gayI heard the laughter of her heartIn every street cafeThe last time I saw ParisHer trees were dressed for springAnd lovers walked beneath those treesAnd birds had songs to sing I dodged the same old taxicabsThat I had dodged for yearsThe chorus of their squeaking hornsWas music to my earsThe last time I saw ParisHer heart was warm and gayNo matter how they change herI'll remember her that wayI'll think of happy hoursAnd people who shared themOld women selling flowersIn markets at dawn

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1189123 By Neil Young. By Neil Young. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Film/TV,Pop,Rock,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 4 pages. Timothy Stapay #788743. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1189123). This is an arrangement of Heart Of Gold by Neil Young. Heart of Gold is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young. From his fourth album Harvest, it is Young's only U.S. No. 1 single. In Canada, it reached No. 1 on the RPM national singles chart for the first time on April 8, 1972, on which date Young held the top spot on both the singles and albums charts. Billboard ranked it as the No. 17 song for 1972.  In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked it No. 297 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time, No. 303 in an updated 2010 list, and No. 259 in 2021.Young has stated that this song, as well as Harvest and Out on the Weekend from the same album, were inspired by his then blossoming love for actress Carrie Snodgress.Neil Percival Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and musician.  Young has received several Grammy and Juno Awards. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted him twice: in 1995 as a solo artist and in 1997 as a member of Buffalo Springfield.[10] In 2000, Rolling Stone named Young No. 34 on their list of the 100 greatest musical artists. (Lyrics Below)I want to live, I want to giveI've been a miner for a heart of goldIt's these expressions I never giveThat keep me searchin' for a heart of goldAnd I'm getting oldKeep me searchin' for a heart of goldAnd I'm getting oldI've been to Hollywood, I've been to RedwoodI crossed the ocean for a heart of goldI've been in my mind, it's such a fine lineThat keeps me searchin' for a heart of goldAnd I'm getting oldKeeps me searchin' for a heart of goldAnd I'm getting oldKeep me searchin' for a heart of goldYou keep me searchin' and I'm growing oldKeep me searchin' for a heart of goldI've been a miner for a heart of gold Â

Published by THEMIS KOUTRAS (A0.1066576). The meaning of this song is that if we right something down like a message or film tape so on you can then hide it good well sometime in the future the item will still be there as long as it is not destroyed thus it will travel in the future the best way is on paper writings or stone tablets because in the future they may have or may not have the same technology as we do today for videos or tapes so on to see it or hear the message if someone in the future finds it off course it would have to be preserved from things like weather that can destroy it well the old saints preached the gospel everywhere but also wrote it down and hid it well well by miracle by praying GOD preserved it and now we got the holy bible this is proven that there was no way in the world that this holy bible could have survived preserved all these years unless GOD preserved it which he did this is the story of how the holy bible survived the time they found it they found it in different books lots of them in different places of the world this proves there must be a GOD out there who preserved it the HOLY BIBLE thus the song says s o s reaching the future thus it means as i said above

Carol Of The Bells<br> <br> Album & Songbook review by: Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):<br> <br> I have discovered a real wealth of great solo piano Christmas CDs this year! Isadar’s In Search For the Meaning of Christmas definitely falls into this category! Thoughtful, introspective, and a bit moody, Isadar’s arrangements are true to the carols (with some small melody changes in “Bring a Torch” and “Carol of the Bells” that bother me just a little) and still seem very personal. “Bring a Torch”, “The Holly and the Ivy”, and “I Saw Three Ships” are given a lighthearted, joyful treatment. “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)”, “What Child Is This?”, “The Coventry Carol”, and “Sing We Now of Christmas” are all minor, somber, reverent pieces, and all four are given loving arrangements that keep the dark, mysterious nature of the songs and reflect Isadar’s own sensibilities. “Carol of the Bells” and Isadar's take on Liz Story’s arrangement of “Greensleeves” are energetic without losing all abandon. “Silent Night” and “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” present us with a very cold, deep solitude - both feel like late night with moonlight reflecting off the snow. Both are moody, but very beautifully so. George Winston’s “December” is one of my all-time favorite holiday albums, and I feel In Search For the Meaning of Christmas holds up exceptionally well next to it. This is an excellent collection of Christmas music, and I highly recommend it!<br> <br> In Search For the Meaning of Christmas is the companion songbook to Isadar’s 1999 solo piano release by the same name. Meticulously transcribed note-for-note by David Shenton of New York Music Publishing, the music is faithful to the recording in every way (except for the pianist - YOU!). The scores are clear, concise, and easy to read, and also include chord indications for improvisation or the use of instruments other than or in addition to the piano. Isadar’s arrangements cover a whole range of emotions, from very dark and somber to joyful and buoyant. All of the pieces from the CD are here, including Isadar’s homage to Liz Story and her beautiful version of “Greensleeves.” My personal favorites of the eleven songs in this book are the bright and cheerful “Bring A Torch,” “What Child Is This?”, “Greensleeves,” the darkly gorgeous “The Coventry Carol,” and “Sing We Now of Christmas.” Other titles that I really like are “Children Go Where I Send Thee/The Holly and the Ivy,” “Star of Wonder (We Three Kings)," “Carol of the Bells,” and the effervescent “Three Ships.” “Silent” (Silent Night) and “Midnight” (It Came Upon a Midnight Clear) are a bit too dark for my own holiday tastes, but are interesting and very personal arrangements. This book will make a great addition to your holiday sheet music collection and is available from isadar.com and amazon.com.<br> <br> Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more...<br> <br> Also available as sheet music in physical songbooks, digital downloads, as well as software for Yamaha Disklavier player-pianos.<br> <br> For more information, visit his website at: http://www.isadar.com

The Royal Hussar (Ceremonial Slow March) for Concert/Wind Band ''Keith Terrett Classic March Collect

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746511 Composed by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Patriotic,World. 32 pages. Keith Terrett #1989071. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746511). A slow march I entitled The Royal Hussar, is an original ceremonial slow march of mine, suitable for indoor or outdoor performance. Slow March: This is a ceremonial pace, used for funeral marches and when a unit’s colours are marched out in front of the troops. The feet are kept parallel to the ground and the arms are never used. In the United States Marine Corps, arms swing as the distance they normally would in quicktime, but at the same pace as marching. U.S. Marine Color Guards do not swing their arms. Slow March is typically used in the Marine Corps for funeral details and ceremonies such as the Marine Corps Ball (when the cake is escorted out). In Spain, Latin America, and the Philippines this is done during religious processions whenever a military band joins it. This march style is the official parade march in the armed forces of Bolivia and Ecuador and the military academies and schools of Venezuela, done with the goose step during parades and ceremonies. The standard pace is 60 paces per minute. Famous slow marches include:Preobrajensky Regimental Slow March Presented to the Royal Marines by Admiral of the Fleet The Earl Mountbatten of Burma on 10th June 1964 and first performed as the Regimental Slow March of the Royal Marines on Horse Guards Parade that night. The march was composed by the Russian composer Donajowsky for the Russian Tzar’s Preobrajensky Guard. The Royal Hussars Slow March ’Coburg’, a tune composed by Haydn and arranged by Grant-James in the late 19th Century, is without doubt one of the most well-known and famous Slow Marches to be written. ’The Eagle’, which itself is a combination of the 14th and 20th Hussars slow marches is also a very strong march, but not widely known outside 14th/20th King’s Hussars’ circles. The Garb of Old Gaul (sometimes given as Auld Gaul) is an 18th-century patriotic Scottish march and song about Highland soldiers during the Seven Years War. The music was written by General John Reid, who was a senior officer of the 42nd Regiment of Foot (The Black Watch) during the Seven Years War. The words have traditionally been attributed to Sir Harry Erskine (1710 -1765). Robert Burns described it as This excellent loyal Scottish song and states that it first appeared in print in Herd’s Collection of 1769. Alternative titles include The Highland Character and The Highland or 42nd Regiment’s March. The tune was originally a quick march but was later rearranged as a slow march. Other famous slow marches of the British Army include Golden Spurs & Scipio. Put away Scipio, Coburg & Garb of Old gaul, time for a newcomer on the block! This book will make a great addition to your holiday sheet music collection and is available from isadar.com and amazon.com.<br> <br> Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, the latter featuring some of today's biggest names in solo piano music, including Ludovico Einaudi, David Nevue, Brian Crain, Kevin Kern, Robin Spielberg, Michele McLaughlin, Philip Wesley and over 300 more...<br> <br> Also available as sheet music in physical songbooks, digital downloads, as well as software for Yamaha Disklavier player-pianos.

Published by Mainya Music Publishing (BMI) (A0.1203048). Contains:Numb - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, The Purple Heart (improvisational solo piano) (available soon on SMP) Sounds like: Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert, Bill Evans, Liz Story, George Winston, early Windham Hill solo piano artists Transcribed by:  David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording Album & Songbook review by:  Kathy Parsons (MainlyPiano.com):The Purple Heart is Isadar’s solo piano tribute and memorial to the people who lost their lives in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Recorded as a 56-minute improvisation on 12/25/02, the music is thoughtful, somber, and quite elegant. There are actually thirteen pieces on the CD, but they segue into each other, making it difficult to tell where one song ends and another begins. This is very definitely NOT a problem, as the album unfolds naturally and organically, asking questions, looking inward, and expressing shock and grief. However, this is not music about only despair or rage. I also hear hope and determination as well as quiet reverence - the strange mix of emotions we all felt during those dark days. Titles include From Cradle to Coffin, Bravery, Numb, New York Skyline, and Truth. Isadar has a wonderful way of wearing his heart on his musical sleeve, pouring deep emotion and heartfelt expression into his music. The music was recorded in one take, but rather than meandering all over the place, Isadar used recurring themes that make the work cohesive and consistent enough to hold together even after many listens. This is a very strong and passionate work, but it was recorded with a rather quiet voice which allows it to be very comfortable and soothing background music as well as evocative solo piano music for concentrated and focused listening. The Purple Heart Sheet Music Collection is a note-for-note solo piano transcription of Isadar’s 2003 memorial CD by the same name (transcribed by David Shenton). The recording and book are a tribute to those who died in the attacks of 9/11/2001. The music was recorded in one take and although there are thirteen titles, the pieces segue into each other, creating a seamless 56-minute improvisation. The book indicates where the various pieces begin and end, but can also be played as one long piece. Although the theme of the music is very somber and bleak, the music covers the broad range of emotions we all felt during that period - anger, sadness, hope, determination, resolve, fear, grief, etc. Although the recording is an improvisation, Isadar incorporates a recurring theme that holds the work together as a single entity. Some pieces are very slow while others are lively and even fast. All thirteen pieces are in C minor/Eb major, but the variety of moods and tempos keep the music evolving without becoming repetitious. When the recurring theme pops up, it’s like seeing an old friend! The difficulty in playing someone’s improvisation is that the creation of the music was spontaneous and free-flowing. It isn’t easy to read an improvisation and give the music that quality of freedom. Less advanced pianists might find this frustrating. The time signatures change frequently, but a competent pianist will have no trouble with that. As I was playing this book, I sensed that I was looking directly into Isadar’s heart and feeling what he was feeling as the music was being born - a very powerful experience! Isadar is an artist on both Enlightened Piano Radio & Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, featuring today's biggest names in solo piano music.

Score. 3 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #890519. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1300821). Stormy Weather is a 1933 torch song written by Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler. Ethel Waters first sang it at The Cotton Club night club in Harlem in 1933 and recorded it that year, and in the same year it was sung in London by Elisabeth Welch and recorded by Frances Langford. Also in 1933, for the first time the entire floor revue from Harlem's Cotton Club went on tour, playing theatres in principal cities. The revue was originally called The Cotton Club Parade of 1933 but for the road tour it was changed to Stormy Weather Revue; it contained the song Stormy Weather, which was sung by Adelaide Hall. This version was developed from the original 1933 sheet music and features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements - we hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

This beautiful and poignant song is part of my Compositions that care series, meaning all profits from thios arrangemnt goes to a charity. This charity is for LGBTQ+. ( about the song meaning)Wrabel, the composer, stated the song is about the LGBTQ+ community and all the hardships they face. The song is directed and to encourage and give hope to a trans person who is being treated poorly and ostracized , and to let that perosn struggling know that there is absolutely Nothing wrong with you and there's soemthing wrong with the village.Too many of the trans/LGBTQ+ comminity are struggling , especially in todays political climate. All around the world LGBTQ+ persons are being bullied, discriminated against , attacked, thrown in jail , and even killed with liitle to no laws to protect people.in my own personal life, as a victim of a horrible hate crime where the person involved attmepted to beat me and kill me , unfortuanelty i found out very qucikly how laws even in the USA do not protect me , how many cops ignored me and/or attmepted to make the attack my fault , and how laywers did not want to help and judges either ,and beacsue of the laws i was not protected as a minority and the crime wasn't a hate crime even though the criminals admitted this as the reason of the attack.I was told that this was not a hate crime , unless the criminals made me a victim of S.A., used a car/vehicle , or a gun, or actually ended my life. I also wanted to add , this brutal attack ( recorded on video by the criminals ) which caused such serious bodily harm, had me in the hospital for surgeries, and required months of long and painful rehab and therapy. As a country, as a society, as a planet , we all need to do better, and have to have more protections for such a discriminated group of persons.I did want to add , all the issues happening around the world, and even here in the USA, such as the awful and fascist discrimitory laws in Florida and other states it's no wonder the statistics of LGBTQ+ that contemplate ending their person or even attempting the act .I ask respectfully that every one please go to law makers and demand better laws and treatments of people no matter what community there are of. All people deserve respect, proper medcial care, and to have the same rights as every other human being. We all can and must be the change you wish to see in the world. String Orchestra - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596378 Composed by From Southern Harmony. Arranged by Kristin Campbell. Folk,Sacred. Score and parts. 30 pages. Horsehair Music #4274707. Published by Horsehair Music (A0.596378). The Flex Orchestra Series are arrangements that can flex to the instrumentation that is available in your context. This series was born out of a desire to have beginning players participate in worship and play along side more experienced players. These arrangements are written with a melody part in each instrument's clef. The melody part is the same from instrument to instrument with slight variations in register. Along with the melody part is a harmony part or ensemble part. Unlike the melody parts, each ensemble part is unique to that instrument. The piano accompaniment is the glue that holds it all together. This arrangement to be played as a solo with accompaniment, or any combination duet, trio, quartet or quintet with piano accompaniment. By having one or more instruments play the melody part, and then add any other instrument on their ensemble part. The melody part is overall the easiest or simplest part. The ensemble parts can be a little more techincal. These techniques would include harder string crossings, and some position work. This scoring flexiblity allows less-experienced players of any stringed instrument to play the melody part, and the more-experienced string players to play their instrument's ensemble part. This allows all levels of string players to play together any combination. On Jordan's Stormy Banks, the American hymn tune, PROMISED LAND, dates back to the early 1800's. It is originally found in a hymnal that was used in the singing schools that were prevalent throughout the southern United States. This arrangement has a fiddle-tune like flavor and uses some open string double stops in an opening motif, hinting at its roots in the folk song tradition. The melody part is can be played in first position entirely. Your players are sure to have fun with the double-stops, finger slides, sounded glissandos and rhythmic patterns that are sure to have you tapping your toe.

Songburd Music #993728. Published by Songburd Music (A0.1411462). Hey fiddlers, One thing we know about old Scottish folk tunes is they never grow old, and even though we may never know who first wrote the delightful melody, “The Corrie Man,†we can tell from its lilting qualities—with its cheerful and spirited flow—that it brings to us images of the u-shaped valleys that are so familiar to the highlands of Scotland. We can easily imagine playing this traditional session tune among the rolling hills and farmlands of Scotland where musicians gather in their favorite places to play—near a tree or brook, on a farmhouse porch, in a sitting room or even in the kitchen.  Not to mention the casual setting of a pub where friends gather to raise a pint and sit in a big circle with an array of other fiddlers and musicians, playing tunes side-by-side enjoying each other’s company! With this backdrop our cellist Genevieve dedicated her time to arrange this artful reel for string quartet as part of our debut album, after which she had the wonderful opportunity to visit Scotland to study and perform with Alisdair Fraser and Natalie Haas, who inspired her to be a part of the rich tradition of preserving and performing Scottish folk music. We hope you will find that same inspiration while playing this piece with your friends and colleagues as much as we do.  It’s always a favorite showstopper!Slà inte Mhath (Cheers)ATLYS.

High Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835449 Composed by Stuart Brown. 20th Century,Contemporary,Spiritual. 37 pages. Stuart Brown Music #4285583. Published by Stuart Brown Music (A0.835449). If you are looking for a genuinely beautiful and rewarding work for solo voice and piano, to fill a 20-minute time slot, then Idylls is for you. It provides an opportunity for both singer and pianist to demonstrate an ability to communicate a wide range of emotions. It is particularly satisfying for the pianist, whose part is anything but subservient to the vocal line and provides an opportunity to shine. At notated tempo the work lasts just under 18 minutes; the concert première performance (in January 2019) lasted just short of 20 minutes because of the slower tempo at which the performers chose to take the fourth song. While intended primarily for the concert platform, Idylls contains some profoundly Christian themes that may make it suitable also for church use in an appropriate context.Although intended for professional use, Idylls may be within the technical capability of advanced high school students, noting that the third song ('Of old sat Freedom on the heights') has a piano part that was described as 'challenging' by the professional pianist who first performed it in public (Jonathan Ellis, January 12th, 2019).As noted above, Idylls can work for church services in various contexts, although not all of the songs are necessarily appropriate to the same context. The lyrics themselves provide the best guidance in this respect. From observing the rehearsal sessions of the two professionals who first performed the work (Chen Wang and Jonathan Ellis), the composer suggests that none of the songs - however apparently straightforward - should be taken for granted. There are nuances in all of them that require careful attention to timing and pitch. The vocal entries in the opening song require careful attention to pitch. In the second song concentrate on the timing and making it sound as light and dance-like as possible. The third song requires the singer to keep an E-flat in mind at all times (in order to pitch entries) and to sing to strict meter regardless of what the pianist is playing. The fourth song requires both grace and intensity. Pitch is the main issue, particularly some of the B-natural entries; pay special attention to timing in the first verse. The fifth and final song is melodically straightforward; pay attention to timing in the second verse.Stuart Brown composed Idylls in early 2015 specifically for the London-based Chinese soprano Chen Wang. She performed it in public for the first time, accompanied by Manchester-based pianist Jonathan Ellis, at a concert in the southwest of England in January 2019.Performing rights are handled in the UK by PRS for Music, in Canada by SOCAN, in the USA by ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. Large Ensemble Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Ukulele,Voice,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565434 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson Music. Children,Folk,Instructional,Standards,Traditional. Score and parts. 177 pages. Sharon Wilson #4357019. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565434). This sheet music collection of 20 folk songs is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. A note and chord chart is also provided for most songs. The songs in this digital book are ordered by difficulty with the easiest songs presented first. The songs progressively incorporate more challenging rhythms, some requiring rapid chord changes. Each song in this collection is presented in one of three ways as detailed below:1. Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords for 1 verse and chorus. 2. Two verses are included: The first verse is easy with fewer notes. The second verse is intermediate and expands the melody by adding more notes. If you want to learn (practice) only the easy verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. 3. Both parts play the melody for one verse beginning with part one (handbells) on the melody and part two (Boomwhackers®) on harmony. After a short interlude, part two plays the melody for the second verse while part one plays harmony. If you want to play only the first verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. This set of scores uses black and white noteheads and is best suited for musicians already familiar with reading standard music notation. For beginning musicians, this same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of these songs. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for each song. Each of the 20 arrangements in this collection is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples. Titles included in this collection: Are You Sleeping? Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.791040 Composed by Irving Berlin. Arranged by Kevin P Holdgate. Contemporary. Score and parts. 21 pages. Kevin P Holdgate #4966967. Published by Kevin P Holdgate (A0.791040). There's No Business Like Show Business is an Irving Berlin song, written for the 1946 musical Annie Get Your Gun and orchestrated by Ted Royal. The song, a slightly tongue-in-cheek salute to the glamour and excitement of a life in show business, is sung in the musical by members of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in an attempt to persuade Annie Oakley to join the production. It is reprised three times in the musical but for the purposes of the show that I made this arrangement for only 2 verses were required... a third verse could easily be added of course with appropriate lyrics. The song is also featured in the 1954 movie of the same name, where it is notably sung by Ethel Merman as the main musical number. The movie, directed by Walter Lang, is essentially a catalog of various Berlin's pieces, in the same way that Singin' in the Rain-which starred Donald O'Connor as well-was a collection of Arthur Freed songs. There was also a disco version of the song made during the 1970s, with Merman reprising her singing role in The Ethel Merman Disco Album. The song became one of Ethel Merman's standards and was often performed by her at concerts and on television. This is a simple arrangement of the song playable by all levels of ensemble
