Originally inspired from listening to a BBC Radio 3 programme about the life and music of Josquin Des Prez, I decided it was time to introduce his music to the Clarinet world!! Josquin was, along with Dufay and Palestrina, a famous composer in Europe during the Renaissance, indeed he was regarded as the first master of polyphonic vocal music that was coming of age during his lifetime. 'Tulerunt Dominum Meum' (lit. 'They Have Taken Away My Master), in its original form is a beautifully written vocal Motet, here it is scored for Eb/ 3 Bb's/ 2 Alto's/ 2 Bass Clarinets, deeply modal as was the fashion, would sound amazing in a generous acoustic! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josquin_des_Prez

These verses are part of the 4th lesson from the 9 lessons from the Offices of the Dead that are published in the Liber Usualis.
