Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012646 Composed by Timothy Arliss OBrien. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 11 pages. Timothy Arliss OBrien #6130831. Published by Timothy Arliss OBrien (A0.1012646). This sad and wistful piano solo was composed during multiple depressions in my life. I wrote the second movement while I was 13. At the time I was dealing with aggressive bullying and tremendous anger. I wrote the first movement while I was in Highschool and found myself becoming the bully and my rage turned to sorry for myself. The third movement was written in the style of a funeral march my freshman year of college as I was being kicked out of a religious institution due to my sexuality. I have been perfecting these melodies over the years and it's so cathartic to premiere this piece. This dark and brooding piece was performed and recorded by the pianistEdward Cohen in October of 2020. www.EdwardCohen.co.uk

His Memory

Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1261681 Composed by Robert Daniel. Broadway,Classical,Film/TV,Musical/Show. 25 pages. RDMusicStudios #854759. Published by RDMusicStudios (A0.1261681). On April 19, 2019, I started writing my first composition, His Memory, on my first album, Show Your Pride. The Show Your Pride album was influenced by my best friend, Nigel Shelby, who tragically passed away by suicide after experiencing bullying for being outed as gay. It has been a few years since his death turned a national spotlight on the issue of LGBTQIA+ mental health and bullying. He was 15 years old at the time of his passing. I feel like I've been stabbed in the heart when I found he was gone. It was the first time I had lost anybody that I was close to. I was in a lot of pain at the time. Losing my best friend is one of the most difficult and heartbreaking experiences I have had in my life. This album is telling a coming-out story about a bisexual musician going on a self-discovery journey to find his true authentic self. I first met Nigel in mid-2018 when I was nervous, struggling with depression, and coming out as bisexual, so I gathered enough strength and confidence to come out to him. He's very kind and supportive of me. He was brave enough to come out to me as well. He has been a really good friend and my spirit guide as long as I've known him. He was understanding, thoughtful, and had a maturity about him that I admired. I feel happy and honored to have known him and had the best friends with him. I truly believe he is watching over me every day. In this inspirational, heartbreaking piece, His Memory, I will share a coming-out story about two boys who came out to each other, spending their friendship together until one of them passes away. This piece is based on a true story of how I coped with grief, dealing with depression about my best friend's passing, and how I found happiness within myself after his memorial service. It drew inspiration from many compositions and soundtracks, including Where The Sky Has No Stars by Katahj Copley, Lose You Now by Lindsey Stirling (feat. Mako), You Will Be Found from Dear Evan Hansen by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, April Sky by Lin Chin Cheng, and Avatar The Last Airbender by Jeremy Zuckerman. These compositions I mentioned express hope and spark memories of lost loved ones. This piece is in 3 Acts: Friendship, I Lost You. and His Memory Lives On. Each one was inspired by actual events. Act I: Friendship Act II: I Lost You Act III: His Memory Lives On While you are listening to this piece, I want you to think about someone you love who is no longer with you. If you're one of those people who lost someone special to you, I am so sorry for your loss. Just know that you are not alone. Don't try to run and hide from your grief. Whatever your grief experience, it's important to be patient with yourself and allow the process to naturally unfold. You will grieve for as long as you need to, but you are a strong person and will find your way through this. Life is so precious. Cherish every moment with your loved ones. Coming out is one of the most difficult things a person can do, but if you are having difficulty or are unsure about it, just know that there are people out there who do love you for who you are. Learn to embrace your authentic self. Don't let your sexual orientation define who you are. The right people will accept you and those are the only people who matter. Be yourself, be happy, and do what you feel. Don't care so much about what others think and enjoy your life! Keep following your heart and don't be afraid to stand out!

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Flute - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023048 Composed by Kyle Rowan. Contemporary. 31 pages. Penguinman Music #4595909. Published by Penguinman Music (A0.1023048). A floral sea; a cloudless night was adapted from music originally composed for my upcoming hypertext opera, Not Quite a Sunset. Through a combination of guided improvisation and fully composed sections, the four flutists create textures that evoke the dreamworld experienced by the protagonist of the opera. The wind picks up around me, rousing me from sleep, and I open my eyes, but I do not move, only breathe. I am lying on my side in a field of long grass, the brushÂlike ends of which nudge me softly in rhythm with the moving air, encouraging me to get up. Something Â- the floral scent in the air, the chattering of insects around me seems familiar about this place, though I am not entirely sure where I am.I begin to sit up slowly, first propping myself up on my elbows, taking in my surroundings. The tall grass spreads out in an endless sea around me, shaded black and grey by the darkness, occasionally glinting silver as it sways. -excerpt from Not Quite a Sunset

3 Preludes for a Quarantine for Solo Piano

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.995184 Composed by Anthony Bannach. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 16 pages. Anthony Bannach Music #5794481. Published by Anthony Bannach Music (A0.995184). I hope everyone has been doing well during this crazy time. Originally I wrote these preludes as parts of composing exercises for Alan Belkin's book Music Composition: Craft and Art. They sat around for a bit until during the quarantine when I took a look at them again. I realized that these pieces had a lot of character to them, and they were quite distinct in nature. The first movement is a simple ternary form piece which begins and ends in the key of g minor and has a very neo-romantic tonal space. The B section is a brisk, more straight-forward tonal texture, but has a fun little twist sequencing up near the end of the section. The second movement was composed with the B vs Bb dichotomy functioning as a germinating cell for the rest of the movement's material. More impressionistic and mysterious than the other two movements, it also lacks a more traditional formal structure, instead relying on the development of motivic cells to make the movement cohere together in a logical way. The third movement is also a modified ternary movement, but with the A sections being played at different speeds, and the second A ending having an outro section attached. The B section is also more like a sonata form developmental section (without the required tonic-dominant modulatory feature). This movement is not only tonally very colorful, but also dynamic in regards to tempo, slowing and quickening often, giving the piece a continual sense of renewed spirit. Rather than just release the preludes as seperate pieces, I found that when played in a certain sequence, they represent a progression of mental and spiritual being that many people have, including myself, been going through during this time. As such, I made them into a suite. If it brings you a little bit of joy or excitement during this time (and after this is over), that's all that I can hope for.

Trombone Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987850 Composed by Robert M. Greenberg. 20th Century. Individual part. 11 pages. Robert M. Greenberg #90287. Published by Robert M. Greenberg (A0.987850). Preferred Contact Information: RMonteverdi@comcast.net Performing Rights Organization: BMI Website: robertgreenbergmusic.com Facebook Band Page: facebook.com/RobertGreenbergMusic Duration: ca. 14 minutes Year of composition: 1998 Program Note: Behavioral Science is in five continuous parts: Part 1: Misbehavior/Out of control Part 2: Vulgar Behavior/Gross stuff Part 3: Crisis of Confidence/Whining and whimpering Part 4: Behavior Becoming/Reflection and Introspection Part 5: With Flying Colors/Putting It All Together The initial inspiration for Behavioral Science was as follows: a few years ago, a trombonist friend of mine asked me if I wanted to join him and a few of da boys in attending the premiere of the Beavis and Butthead movie. Whoa. Beavis and Butthead with the low brass; a most stimulating prospect. A previous and, I'm sure, less interesting engagement kept me away, but the formative idea behind Behavioral Science was born: how do you civilize the eternal adolescent that is the trombone/trombonist without taking away its/his/her essential energy and joie de vivre? Behavioral Science, then, is about the trombone and, to a degree, trombone players themselves (which, by the way, I was once one myself and my daughter presently is). The piece begins with the trombone completely out of control - a raucous, screaming, stuttering length of lacquered plumbing. Across the span of the piece the trombone gradually learns lyricism and self-discipline, gaining maturity and, ultimately, self-mastery. Behavioral Science concludes with a series of extremely virtuosic passages that require, as they do, the most exacting control imaginable. Behavioral Science was composed between December, 1997 and February, 1998. It is dedicated with great affection and gratitude to Neil Hatler for his help, advice, and tireless dedication to the piece.

Composed by Pyotr Ilich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Romantic Period, Repertoire, Recital. Individual Part, Solo Part. 6 pages. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira
The Children's Album is dedicated to Tchaikovsky's favorite nephew, Vladimir Davydov. On 12/24 December 1878, Tchaikovsky wrote to Lev Davydov: "Tell Bobik that the music has been printed with pictures, that the music was composed by Uncle Petya, and that on it is written Dedicated to Volodya Davydov. The silly little fellow will not understand what dedicated means... Even so, Bobik is an inimitably delightful figure when he's playing, and he might look at the notes, and think that a whole symphony is dedicated to him“.

In a letter of 30 April/12 May 1878 to Nadezhda von Meck, the composer wrote: "A while ago I thought that it would not be a bad idea to make a small contribution to the stock of children's musical literature, which is very modest. I want to create a series of little individual pieces just for children, and with an attractive title, like Schumann`s.

Some months before this letter was written, while staying in Florence on 14/26 February, Tchaikovsky told Pyotr Jurgenson that he wanted "to write a number of easy pieces, like Kinderstück“. Evidently, the idea of creating a collection of pieces for young people had not been abandoned by the composer, and after his return to Kamenka in April he decided to begin composition. In the aforementioned letter to Nadezhda von Meck, he informed her: "Tomorrow I shall start working on my collection of miniatures for children".

On 1/13 May the composer wrote to Anatoly Tchaikovsky: "I'm working well and have done rather a lot". On 4/16 May the sketches for all 24 pieces were ready. Shortly afterwards, Tchaikovsky accepted an invitation from Nadezhda von Meck to stay at her Brailov estate until the end of May/beginning of June, before spending a few days in Moscow; from there he went to spend five days with his friend Nikolay Kondratyev at Nizy, and in mid/late June he called at Kiev, before returning to Verbovka. In the days following his arrival, he began to put the finishing touches to all the pieces written in April and May. The fair copy of the Children's Album was begun, it seems, on 13/25 July.

By 20 July/1 August the copying out was completed, and on 21 July/2 August the composer told Nadezhda von Meck that he was working on the Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom.

On 29 July/10 August the manuscript of the Children's Album, along with a number of other compositions, was sent to Pyotr Jurgenson in Moscow. In October, after the proofs had been corrected, the album was published.

P.S.- Other than a modest suggestion for an interpretation, this arrangements remain absolute faithful to the original composition.

The first version is in the original key of g minor, the second is transposed to „a minor“, the third one is intended for a little lap harp and transposed to d minor. It sounds better in the original key of g minor. I used a lot the d minor version and performed it with my little harp very often, always experiencing a very deep musical feedback.

A little nuance was added to the arrangements, thus obliged by its minimal use on the original manuscripts.

I included the original long and expressive leggato bows and left out the staccatos for the left hand between the bars 17 and 20. I felt somehow awkward when applying this technic on the harp myself.

May be the staccatos suites you best, and you should try it.

The score was written on Finale.

The sound file was produced with samplers from Garritan,

intended as an audio support for the presentation of the score.

A reproduction of Tchaikovsky`s original manuscript is added to the file as a reference to the original sources of this composition, it is an extra bonus intentionally didactic and obviously not included in the price of the arrangement itself.

Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file.

I hope you enjoy the music.
