Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.802657 Composed by Ray Egan, Roy K Marsh & Paul Whiteman, and Tom Pitts. Arranged by Dudley E Bayford & Peet du Toit. Contemporary. Score and parts. 8 pages. Peet du Toit #6216933. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802657). This Quick-Step piece was recorded by Judy Garland in 1943 by Decca Records on her Second Souvenir album. The quickstep is a light-hearted dance of the standard ballroom dances. The movement of the dance is fast and powerfully flowing and sprinkled with syncopations. The upbeat melodies that quickstep is danced to make it suitable for both formal and informal events. Quickstep was developed in the 1920s in New York City and was first danced by Caribbean and African dancers. Its origins are in combination of slow foxtrot combined with the Charleston, a dance which was one of the precursors to what today is called swing dancing. This dance gradually evolved into a very dynamic one with much movement on the dance floor, with many advanced patterns including hops, runs, quick steps with much momentum, and rotation. The tempo of quickstep dance is rather brisk, as it was developed to ragtime era jazz music, which is fast-paced when compared to other dance music. The quickstep is elegant like the foxtrot and should be smooth and glamorous. The dancers should appear to be very light on their feet. It is very energetic and form-intensive. The quickstep is danced to 4/4 music of 48-52 measures per minute.

Top note B naturalAlso sung by Billy ThorpeHas lovely 12/8 lilt in style of Unchained MelodyChords included.LyricsI told the brook that runs down through the valleyA secret my best friend never knew. The brook told the trees and the trees told the breeze,That I was in love with you. The trees told the flowers hiding there by the hilltop. The clouds told the moon that shone above. So angry yet blue when they found out that youAnd your heart had another love. The brook became angry and changed to a river, rushing so madly along. The soft summer breeze that played tag with the trees, became so wild and so strong. The bashful white flowers hiding there by the hilltop,Grew dark when the rain came pouring down.Their hearts couldn't hide all the tears that were cried,And had carpeted upon the ground. The storm has gone over, there'll be sunshine again. The chains that held me are now gone. The trees wave hello as I stand here below,And the brook sings the sweetest song. The bashful white flowers are again by the hill-top.The sun and the moon are still my friends.I promise there'll be no more heartaches for me,Till I fall in love again.

Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889410). Baroque Feeling is for my Father. The one who never knew that I was born! One time I visited him because he was a great artist and a close friend of my Grandpa. I just wanted to be a bit closer to my Grandpa, and had no idea either that this man was actually real my Father. Now that I know this, and they are all gone! I feel sad, very sad, I would have hugged him if I knew it. My Father was called Pedro Augusto Franco Dos Anjos Teixeira, and music helps me to feel him very close, even to communicate with him.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.894408 Composed by Zack Richards. Holiday,Patriotic,Sacred,Spiritual,World. Octavo. 6 pages. Zack Richards #5821179. Published by Zack Richards (A0.894408). I wrote this piece in response to the #BlackLivesMatter Protests across the United States and world during the early summer of 2020. The extreme extent of peaceful protests and violent riots demonstrated the desperate need for change in a way I had not witnessed before. I knew quickly that I wanted to write music in some sort of response to the situation, but I struggled at first to find my voice within the movement. I am a white male and have experienced the privilege that comes with it. No matter how much I sympathized or understood the struggles of minorities in our culture, I knew I could not possibly bring the full meaning of it through my music, as I could never really experience the trials they have faced constantly for so long. So instead I decided to write words and music that reflected how I hoped things would be going forward after this movement. I wanted this to be an anthem for those who have suffered through real oppression, in any form. While there are some religious undertones in the text I chose, I tried to find words that could resonate with anyone, reaching beyond color, culture, belief, orientation, age, or any other dividing label. I tried to write in regard to one thing we all have in common, humanity. I hope I was able to accomplish this. The anthem can be done in parts or unison or as a solo. It can also be done with or without accompaniment.

Grandpa toke me from the garden to a House full of sculptures and art work. There was also a room with 3 great pianos, sat to perform on 3 different stages. Family life size portraits where hanging on a corridor. Another room was full of swords and ancient family weapons. In the end of the dream a dangerous Entity approached the house, Grandpa disappears and I had to leave the place in a hurry without being noticed. I climbed up the house and went hiding on the celling. I could than see a middle aged, middle-Lower class lady coming in the House, she was very stiff, all dressed in black like a widow. It was a very weary feeling, I woke up to never forget this dream. About 20 years later I was in that garden. It was really abandoned and I spend much of my time hanging there, I wrote a lot of music in this garden. I knew about The owner of this garden, he was living not so far away from me. Curious I decided to visit him. He leaved in the house that I dreamed of and he was actually my Father but I did not know that he was my Father and either did he knew about me being his son. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891202). If you are looking to highlight your women's group and feature soloists from within the ensemble, this women's-choir-friendly piece is a harmonically interesting and pianistically supported way to explore those textures. The composer writes: I often find it difficult to find music for grown women: much treble repertoire is written for children's ranges and feature children's themes, and the remainder seems to be about romantic relationships. When searching for a text that speaks to the nature of a woman, I found Emily Dickinson's little-known For largest Woman's Heart I knew. It seemed to pair naturally with Heart! We will forget him! and provide context rooted in personal strength. While Dickinson was a prolific private poet, fewer than a dozen of her nearly 1,800 poems were published during her lifetime, usually altered significantly to fit the conventional poetic rules of the time. A complete, and mostly unaltered, scholarly collection of her poetry first became available five full years after Aaron Copland's musical settings of her poetry. Laurie Betts Hughes explores what Copland never had the chance to: Emily Dickinson's poem as the poet had conceived it, unedited, and with the punctuation she intended.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

Here's how to play "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John on piano!
With this piano sheet music, you get an accurate arrangement of "Candle in the Wind" (1973 version) which is not too hard to play, and sounds fantastic.
The whole melody is included in the piano part, so it makes for a wonderful instrumental (piano solo) version.
"Candle in the Wind" was written in 1973 by Elton John and Bernie Taupin in memory of Marilyn Monroe, who had passed away 11 years earlier.
Elton John famously performed a rewritten version of the song in 1997 for Princess Diana (after her death in a car crash). It became known as "Candle in the Wind 1997" or "Goodbye England's Rose" after the first line of the new lyrics.
This sheet music is an arrangement of the original 1973 version of "Candle in the Wind", as it was included on Elton John's album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".
Here are the full lyrics to Elton John's "Candle in the Wind":
Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your name
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Marilyn was found in the nude
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Goodbye Norma Jean
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
Goodbye Norma Jean
From the young man in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something more than sexual
More than just our Marilyn Monroe
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Bewitched, Bewitched, You know your craft so well. Before I knew what I was doing I looked in your eyes That brand of woo you've been brewin’ Took me by surprise. You witch, you witch, One thing is for sure. That stuff you pitch Just hasn’t got a cure. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030831 Composed by Michael C. Brown. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score. 23 pages. Michael C. Brown #4051. Published by Michael C. Brown (A0.1030831). This piece celebrates the life and mourns the loss of my granddaughter, Paisley Gladys Hogan, who was but 2 months old when she was called to Heaven. These are the words I wrote just before her funeral.... I. The Presence - She was here. I held her the day she was born. I held her and watched her smile at me less than 24 hours before she departed. She only knew love. No one around her ever showed her anything else that humanity had to offer; like hatred, heartache, pain, control, or anger. II. The Shock - She feels a Hand beckon her to leave her mortal coil, and she enters into a world we cannot yet reach.. With no one home, her former body ceases to wake. The unimaginable has happened and we struggle to reverse it. Finally, it becomes clear that we cannot. She sees us cry and she wonders what is happening. Having never known sorrow, she only sees that love didn't cause this response. She wants to comfort us with the love she knows, but we do not yet sense it. III. The Questions - One word has confounded mankind from its creation; Why? We have never found an acceptable answer. We ask, Why did this happen? and What did I do? and What didn't we do right? and Why couldn't it have been me? among others. We only know that her absence has carved holes in our hearts shaped like her. She tries to tell us, You can still love me. I just cannot be seen by you now. It does not mean your love cannot make me happy. I still want it. I still feel it. Please feel my love for you. IV. Letting Go - The day comes to bid farewell to the vehicle by which she came to us. We struggle to cope that we will see her face no more except in pictures. Because of the brevity of her life, memories are few to relive, but to do so is to recall happiness. In sorrow, we return her to the earth. All that is left is to return to recall, to talk to her, to bring flowers and other gifts, and to await the day we follow her. V. Remembering - The days and years follow. Normalcy slowly sets back into our lives. The holes in our hearts will never fully heal. But the salve of her love and her memory help to soothe the ache. We still return to where we placed her mortal home, where we laugh and cry in tandem, where our hearts ache to fill the void left by her departure. It will never really get better, but it will become easier for her love to dull the sting of her absence. VI. The Reunion - One by one, we will feel the same Hand bid us to come. The same events will befall those left behind each time. One by one, she will greet us as we reunite with her. We marvel at how she has stayed with us as we stay to comfort those we had just bidden farewell. The rest cannot be imagined by we that remain..........

Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.
