Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927174 Composed by George Willson. 20th Century,Contemporary,Patriotic. Score and Parts. 70 pages. George Willson #4607975. Published by George Willson (A0.927174). War, by its nature, claims the lives of those who enter it, and over the course of history, many have fallen in the service of their countries who have gone to war for one reason or another. Fanfare for the Fallen seeks to honor those who have fallen in service and conjure the image of them marching into their glorious afterlife. Christianity holds that there is no greater love than laying down one's life for another, and many cultures believe that dying in battle yields glory in the great beyond. So whether marching into heaven, Valhalla or some other bright light at the end of the tunnel, let this music provide the soundtrack of trumpeting angels and one last ticker tape parade as these warriors are welcomed into their eternal home. This is a piece of intermediate difficulty with a nice melody and a John Williams' Olympic Fanfare feel to it. While the trumpets soar in their high registers for the heralding sections, the range for the rest of the piece (and the rest of the band) stays mostly in the center of the instruments. While 32nd notes are found here and there, the tempo sitting at around 80 keeps their difficulty, as well as the 16th note woodwind runs, in check. George Willson has been an performer, composer, and conductor for thirty years in various mediums and ensembles.Mp3 provided is a midi extracted from the composition program.

Marching Band - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.886865 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Justin M. Ryan. Children. Score and parts. 1 pages. Justin M. Ryan #3001355. Published by Justin M. Ryan (A0.886865). This song is based on the Traditional Song Here We Go Around the Mulberry Bush. A perfect song to teacher your children about different percussion instruments and how they work. It also works well when you are teaching kids how to stay in line or march single file. It is broken up into 2 sections. The first section is for teaching and more relaxed rhythmically. The second section is used for the marching portion. Each child should have a chance using the instruments notated in the music. This song also encourages good listening skills. When the teacher says play the drum, only children with a drum should play. It also increases use of motor skills with the different actions such as shake, scrape etc.

Instrumental Duet,Viola - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549885 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. 23 pages. Jmsgu3 #3602675. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549885). Score: 12 pages, piano part: 6 pages, viola part: 4 pages. duration: ca. 5'. This is the famous wedding march from Op. 61 composed in 1842 and commonly performed as a recessional march at the end of a wedding. The piece was originally composed for orchestra then arranged for organ and performed by Mendelssohn himself. Mendelssohn: Wedding March Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is so popular that it’s difficult to imagine a wedding without it. It seems like it’s been around for eternity. In any case, it was only 150 years or so ago that the Wedding March came about. It was performed in Potsdam for the first time in 1842, as a piece of Mendelssohn’s music for the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was first used for a wedding in 1858 Mendelssohn Background Felix Mendelssohn (1809 –1847) was, by all means, a German mastermind composer, musician and orchestra conductor of the Romantic period. Consequently, Mendelssohn composed in the usual forms of the time - symphonies, concertos, oratorios, piano music, and chamber music. To summarize, his most famous works include his music for A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Italian Symphony, the Scottish Symphony, The Hebrides Overture, his later Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, and his Octet for Strings. His most well-known piano pieces, by and large, are the Songs Without Words. Artistic Standing Musical tastes change from time to time. Moreover, just such a change occurred in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This plus rampant antisemitism brought a corresponding amount of undue criticism. Fortunately, however, his artistic inventiveness has indeed been critically re-evaluated. As a result, Mendelssohn is once again among the most prevalent composers of the Romantic era. Early Family Life Mendelssohn was, in fact, born into a prominent Jewish family. His grandfather was, notably, the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. Felix was, in fact, raised without religion. At the age of seven, he was all of a sudden baptized as a Reformed Christian. He was, moreover, a child musical prodigy. Nevertheless, his parents did not attempt to exploit his talent. Early Adulthood Mendelssohn was, in general, successful in Germany. He conducted, in particular, a revival of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, specifically with his presentation of the St Matthew Passion in 1829. Felix was truly in demand throughout Europe as a composer, conductor, and soloist. For example, he visited Britain ten times. There, he premiered, namely, many of his major works. His taste in music was. To be sure, inventive and well-crafted yet markedly conservative. This conservatism separated him by all means from more audacious musical colleagues like Liszt, Wagner, and Berlioz. Mendelssohn founded the Leipzig Conservatoire which, to clarify, became a defender of this conservative viewpoint. Mature Adulthood Schumann notably wrote that Mendelssohn was the Mozart of the nineteenth century, the most brilliant musician, the one who most clearly sees through the contradictions of the age and for the first time reconciles them. This observation points to a couple of features in particular that illustrate Mendelssohn's works and his artistic procedure. Musical Features In the first place, his musical style was fixed in his methodical mastery of the style of preceding masters. This being said, he certainly recognized and even developed early romanticism from the music of Beethoven and Weber. Secondly, it indicates that Mendelssohn sought to strengthen his inherited musical legacy rather than to exchange it with new forms and styles or replace it with exotic orchestration. Consequently, he diverged his contemporaries in the romantic period, such as Wagner, Berlioz.

C Instrument - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1289648 By Traditional. By Traditional. Arranged by Martin Hay. 19th Century,Celtic,Irish,Multicultural,Traditional,Wedding,World. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. Martin Hay #880353. Published by Martin Hay (A0.1289648). The Gay Gordons is a lively Scottish country dance that is popular at social gatherings and ceilidhs (traditional Scottish dances). It is a partner dance that involves a combination of skipping steps and waltz-like moves. The dance is typically done in a circular formation with couples facing each other. Here is a basic description of how the Gay Gordons dance is performed:1. **Starting Position:** Couples stand facing each other in a large circle, holding hands. The dance begins with partners side by side, with the man's right hand holding the woman's left hand.2. **Skipping Steps:** The dance starts with a series of skipping steps, where couples move in a circle to the right, taking small skipping steps.3. **Turns:** After a few rounds of skipping, couples will turn 180 degrees to face the opposite direction, still holding hands.4. **Waltz Hold:** Once turned, couples adopt a waltz hold, with the man's right hand around the woman's waist, and the woman's left hand on the man's shoulder. The other hands are joined together.5. **Waltz:** Couples then waltz around the dance floor in a clockwise direction, often taking a few spins.6. **Repeat:** The dance continues with more skipping steps, turns, and waltzing. It is a joyful and energetic dance that is typically danced to traditional Scottish music. The songs in this Gay Gordons set are:**1. The Thistle of Scotland:**The Thistle of Scotland is not a widely recognized or specific song title in Scottish music. Scotland has a rich musical tradition with many songs that celebrate its culture, history, and symbols. The thistle is the national emblem of Scotland, so there may be various songs that reference it indirectly.**2. Mhairi's Wedding:**Mhairi's Wedding is a popular Scottish folk song often played at weddings and celebrations. It tells the story of a wedding celebration and is known for its catchy melody and lyrics that celebrate the joyous occasion of Mhairi's wedding.**3. The Barren Rocks of Aden:**The Barren Rocks of Aden is a famous Scottish military march. It is often played by bagpipe bands and has a distinctive and stirring melody. The tune is associated with the British Army and is a common choice for military processions and parades.**4. Scotland the Brave:**Scotland the Brave is another well-known Scottish patriotic song and march. It is often played at national and sporting events in Scotland. The song celebrates the beauty and spirit of Scotland and is characterized by its uplifting and proud melody. It is a favorite among bagpipers and is often performed with great enthusiasm. These songs are all part of Scotland's rich musical heritage and are played at various occasions to celebrate its culture and history.

She was 91 and had been poorly with many different illnesses for the previous 6 months, so we knew it was coming. But the timing and unfathomable sadness of her death, together with the start of a worldwide pandemic, little did I know it at the time, was to bring forth from me a tsunami of music the likes of which I hadn’t written for many years. A set of six solo studies for various members of the clarinet family came first, written between March 20th and April 20th. As I wrote them they were orchestrating themselves in my head and forming something else as well. That “something else†grew and grew, as the Six Studies intertwined themselves around each other and expanded together, joining forces with two brand new themes to form what soon was to become an immense orchestral work. The title was easy. Glastry is a tiny district in the middle of the Co.Down countryside of Northern Ireland, where my Mum was born and brought up. And Pearl was her name. Her full name was actually Margaret Mary Ward (eventually to become Denny when she married my Dad, Colum Denny, from Belfast), but everyone always called her Pearl. The nickname was bestowed upon her just after she was born on February 28th 1929 and stuck ever since. The Glastry Pearl is a tribute to my Mum and the great and mighty person she was to me and all who knew her. It employs at least one theme or motif from each of the Six Studies For Various Solo Clarinets and uses them throughout the work in the from of Leitmotifs. It was only when the work was nearing completion that I began to wonder how to describe it. Freddy Naftel, a good composer friend of mine, suggested that Tone Poem was a fitting description and I immediately agreed. The music itself is completely tonal and highly Romantic, yet also peppered with exciting contemporary disonance. I believe it to be a good, and hopefully fun, challenge to symphony orchestras, both professional and high standard amateur alike. It offers everything from the the somber opening to the hilarious and wildly energetic central Waltz, to the glorious soaring final section, so plenty of variety to please many palates.

Small Ensemble E-Flat Tenor Horn,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587627 Composed by Various. Arranged by David McKeown. Baroque,Romantic Period,Standards,Wedding. Score and individual part. 24 pages. David McKeown #4594693. Published by David McKeown (A0.587627). The Wedding Album is a collection of four beautiful and timeless wedding favourites, arranged for Solo Horn in Eb with Piano accompaniment. Whether for that Special Day, for a recital, or for your own entertainment, these arrangements are ideal for players at an intermediate level or higher. The 24-page file includes the piano accompaniments and the separate solo parts at the end. Ave Maria was written by Franz Schubert in 1825 as the sixth song in his song cycle based on Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake. It is perhaps the best known of all his melodies, adapted for piano by Franz Liszt, and for orchestra many times since. It is often sung with the Latin lyrics of the Catholic hymn of the same name and has been heard everywhere from the Disney movie Fantasia to the funeral of J.F. Kennedy. The Bridal March was written by Richard Wagner in 1850, scored for orchestra and chorus, and opening the third act of his opera, Lohingren. It is best known in the English-speaking world as Here Comes the Bride. Queen Victoria’s daughter used the music for her marriage in 1858, and its popularity has endured ever since. The Prince of Denmark’s March is better known nowadays as the Trumpet Voluntary and is often used in wedding ceremonies. It was in fact written for organ, with the melody played on thetrumpet stop. Written around 1700, for many years this piece was mistakenly attributed to Henry Purcell. Only recently has it been established that the composer was Jeremiah Clarke, organist at St Paul’s Cathedral. It is somewhat ironic that this composer of a wedding mainstay was himself a victim of unrequited love. He consequently shot himself in the cathedral graveyard. Felix Mendelssohn’s Wedding March was originally written in 1842 as incidental music to Shakespeare’s famousplay, Midsummer Night’s Dream. When Queen Victoria’s daughter used the music for her marriage in 1858, it became instantly popular and has remained a wedding favourite ever since. These four arrangements are also available as single titles for $3.99 each. In this case it is in the Port Royal Band Books. The Port Royal Band Books are a collection of manuscripts used by the Union band stationed at Port Royal, South Carolina during the Civil War. The original instrumentation is for the brass band of that time. Washington Greys is probably his best known march and the original manuscript for it is in the same collection. This has modern band instrumentation.

This full version is arranged as a Solo for Horn in E Flat and Piano; the performance time is around two and a half minutes. Of course, performers, especially at weddings, may wish to abridge and shorten the arrangement. This is easily done as the different sections are self-contained and the repeat may be ignored. The single pdf file contains both the score and the solo instrumental part. Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances, with both the solo and accompaniment enjoying melodic interest.
