Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1143117 Composed by Piano Sonata No. 9 Op. 68 Alexander Scriabin. Arranged by Blake P. McCabe. 20th Century,New Age. Score and parts. 43 pages. Blake P. McCabe #743479. Published by Blake P. McCabe (A0.1143117). This composition is an arrangement of Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 9 Op 68. This piece has traditionally been nicknamed The Black Mass and was written for piano. Scriabin himself accepted this nickname for the piece and earlier on wrote a piece that would be nicknamed The White Mass. The Black mass was completed in 1913, a mere 2 years before his untimely death. The piece is built upon his ‘mystic chord, a hexachord built on fourths. Scriabin described this chord of embodying the divine and having a smoky tonal color, stemming from his own perception of sound as color. This piece moves from haunting sounds in its first motif to a chilling climax, returning to a mysterious murmur, and moves through multiple tempos to drag the listener along its march through its gothic vision, until finally returning to its first motif and leaving the listener haunted by the dark, colorful visions it invokes. To date of publication of this arrangement, I have yet to find an arrangement of The Black Mass for orchestra, band, nor symphony. The piece has many layers within it and includes complex polyrhythms typical of his music. The dark uncurrent, along with the form and choice of lack of direct key signature pose a unique challenge in the arrangement of this piece. I have deigned to maintain the feel of the original piano version, including his choice of time signatures and rhythmic choices while bringing it to life through the sounds of a modified symphony orchestra. This arrangement relies on the timbres of the instrument families to portray the emotional colors of the piece and particularly highlights the woodwind section of the symphony orchestra, along with the angelic sounds of the harp. Percussion is added through timpani, xylophone, glockenspiel, and multi-percussion to heighten the emotional experience of the arrangement.

Composed by Bertold Hummel. This edition: set of solo parts. Downloadable, Set of solo parts. Op. 5 a. Duration 18 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q19857. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19857). Latin.Missa brevis for mixed choir and eight wind instruments Op. 5 was created in 1951 and premiered at the Donaueschingen Festival of Contemporary Music the following year. The Ordinary of the Mass (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) was composed using a modal technique drawing on medieval examples. The use of wind instruments adds to the rich sound of the choir, thus expanding the sound spectrum in an interesting way. The piece is suitable for both liturgy and concert. Hummel wrote a music which is easy to play by all performers and delights the listeners immediately.

Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1239960 By Duke Ellington. By Albany Bigard, Duke Ellington, and Irving Mills. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. Score and Parts. 43 pages. John Ivor Holland #835322. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1239960). This evocative jazz standard has its roots in earlier songs, but first introduced to a mass audience via radio by Duke Ellington and his Orchestra in 1930 and becoming an instant hit, called 'Dreamy Blues' initially, but then renamed, with lyrcis added, as 'Mood Indigo'. The Ellington band performed and recorded the song continuously throughout its 50 years, both in its original form and as a vehicle for individual soloists. The song was featured in a Broadway revue called 'Sophisticated Ladies' (running from 1981–83) earning two awards and eight nominations at the 35th Tony Awards. Mood Indigo is also featured in the films The Cotton Club (1984), The Untouchables (1987). Harlem Nights (1989) and White Men Can't Jump (1992), among others. This arrangement has been adapted from the brass band version by Edrich Siebert.

Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088224 Composed by David F. Wilborn. Contemporary,Latin. Score and parts. 57 pages. Gordon Cherry #692477. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1088224). Here is a description of this fine work by the composer, Dr David F. Wilborn: Tsunami, for eight trombones, is designed to capture some of the energy and drama of a tsunami wave speeding towards a coastline. The opening musical themes are powerful and bold. These melodies are accompanied by pulsating and aggressive rhythms. After a while, the tension of the music subsides as a calm serene sound of Polynesian music emerges. Here the joyful entertaining atmosphere is a total contrast to the previous themes. The scene captures a moment of frivolity and images of participants who are totally unaware of impending danger. But that moment is brief as the tsunami music abruptly returns. The work concludes by capturing the image of the powerful tsunami wave racing for the coastline. At this point, a tsunami siren blares, and the music builds with great intensity. Upon hearing unexpected silence followed by a loud minor chord, it becomes clear that the massive wave has hit the coast. The destruction is done and the dreadful event is over. All seems well until the siren again sounds and the infamous opening tsunami music returns. This 8-minute work is appropriate for moderately advanced performers. The range is moderate and all the parts are in bass clef.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774738 By Rebecca St. James. By Andy Quanta, Chris Thompson, Keith Reid, and Maggie Ryder. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Christian,Gospel. Octavo. 16 pages. Sandra Milliken #4408392. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774738). You’re the Voice is a powerful protest song written by Andy Qunta, Keith Reid, Chris Thompson and Maggie Ryder, and recorded by the very popular Australian singer John Farnham for his album Whispering Jack in 1986.The song was one of the biggest hits of 1986 in Australia, topping the singles chart for seven weeks. In 1987 it was awarded the ARIA Award for Single of the Year. It was also one of Farnham’s biggest successes in Europe, charting at No. 1 in Germany and Sweden and reaching the Top 10 in Austria, Ireland, Switzerland and the UK.The song’s main message is an empowering one, encouraging people everywhere to take a stand against corruption and to make their voices heard. To wake up to your own power. It can also be described it as an anti-war song, since it was released in the mid-80s, during the height of the Cold War.Farnham’s version of You’re the Voice contains one of the most famous bagpipe solos ever recorded. It was played by a group of four pipers. If you have a bagpipe soloist/s available, tacet the choir in the bagpipe section (from measure 59) to get the full effect! The SATB arrangement provides scope for a massed choir situation: have a children’s choir sing the Soprano or Soprano and Alto parts in the section beginning at measure 84, with the semi chorus being a group of 3 or more strong singers, ensuring an appropriate balance between the solo, semi-chorus and full choir.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828700 Composed by Karl Friedrich Abel. Arranged by Guido Menestrina. Classical. Score and parts. 16 pages. Guido Menestrina #122893. Published by Guido Menestrina (A0.828700). Karl Friedrich Abel - Sinfonia Op. 7 n. 1 - Secondo Movimento - Adagio Edited by Guido Menestrina - Full score and single parts for 2 oboe, 2 F Horns (originally cor de chasse, tacet on 2nd movement), 2 violins, viola and cello (originally basse de violon). Abel was born in Köthen, a small German city, where his father, Christian Ferdinand Abel, had worked for years as the principal viola da gamba and cello player in the court orchestra. In 1723 Abel senior became director of the orchestra, when the previous director, Johann Sebastian Bach moved to Leipzig. The young Abel later boarded at Leipzig's Thomasschule, where he was taught by Bach. On Bach's recommendation in 1743 he was able to join Johann Adolph Hasse's court orchestra at Dresden where he remained for fifteen years.[3][5] In 1759 (or 1758 according to Chambers),[1] he went to England and became chamber-musician to Queen Charlotte, in 1764.[3][5] He gave a concert of his own compositions in London, performing on various instruments, one of which was a five-string cello known as a pentachord, which had been recently invented by John Joseph Merlin.[6] In 1762, Johann Christian Bach, the eleventh son of J.S. Bach, joined him in London, and the friendship between him and Abel led, in 1764 or 1765, to the establishment of the famous Bach-Abel concerts, England's first subscription concerts. In those concerts, many celebrated guest artists appeared, and many works of Haydn received their first English performance. For ten years the concerts were organized by Mrs. Theresa Cornelys, a retired Venetian opera singer who owned a concert hall at Carlisle House in Soho Square, then the height of fashionable events. In 1775 the concerts became independent of her, to be continued by Abel and Bach until Bach's death in 1782. Abel still remained in great demand as a player on various instruments new and old. He traveled to Germany and France between 1782 and 1785, and upon his return to London, became a leading member of the Grand Professional Concerts at the Hanover Square Rooms in Soho. Throughout his life he had enjoyed excessive living, and his drinking probably hastened his death, which occurred in London on 20 June 1787. One of Abel's works became famous due to a misattribution: in the 19th century, a manuscript symphony in the hand of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was catalogued as his Symphony no. 3 in E flat, K. 18, and was published as such in the first complete edition of Mozart's works by Breitkopf & Härtel. Later, it was discovered that this symphony was actually the work of Abel, copied by the boy Mozart-evidently for study purposes-while he was visiting London in 1764. That symphony was originally published as the concluding work in Abel's Six Symphonies, Op. 7. Follow the score on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_urGVpH7Pls.

Abel was born in Köthen,[3][4] a small German city, where his father, Christian Ferdinand Abel, had worked for years as the principal viola da gamba and cello player in the court orchestra. Throughout his life he had enjoyed excessive living, and his drinking probably hastened his death, which occurred in London on 20 June 1787.[citation needed] One of Abel's works became famous due to a misattribution: in the 19th century, a manuscript symphony in the hand of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was catalogued as his Symphony no. 7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN3mtmg-rLI.

Licari (Voice & Ukulele)Music Preparation Services www.musicprepsevices.com See my other arrangements here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/music-preparation-services-sheet-music/3005054The Coventry Carol is an English Christmas carol dating from the 16th century. The carol was traditionally performed in Coventry in England as part of a mystery play called The Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors. The play depicts the Christmas story from chapter two in the Gospel of Matthew: the carol itself refers to the Massacre of the Innocents, in which Herod ordered all male infants under the age of two in Bethlehem to be killed, and takes the form of a lullaby sung by mothers of the doomed children. The music contains a well-known example of a Picardy third (G major cadence in the key of G minor). The author is unknown; the oldest known text was written down by Robert Croo in 1534, and the oldest known setting of the melody dates from 1591.[1] There is an alternative, modern setting of the carol by Kenneth Leighton, and another by Philip Stopford. (Taken from the Wikipedia Entry). This arrangement is for voice and ukulele (melody and chords).

Number Two is a four-voice fugue that uses the direct form of the theme (as in Number One) but with a swinging feel due to the French style dotted eighth – sixteenth rhythm.
