Organ - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912506 Composed by Thomas R. Schadl. Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Spiritual,Standards. Score. 5 pages. Thomas R. Schadl #6519091. Published by Thomas R. Schadl (A0.912506). My inspiration for writing this music came from listening to Jehan Alain’s (1911-1940) organ piece CHORAL DORIEN. The work begins softly and builds up sound intensity until it reaches the climax, depicting the longing for joy and peace to come. After the climactic part of the piece is stated, the sound intensity begins to decrease and concludes in a major key. The work is suitable for recital purposes, and may also be performed in church-related events, such as the Lenten and Good Friday services. Organ registrations and tempo indications are only suggestions.

Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1437193 Composed by Vidas Pinkevicius. Christian,Classical,Contemporary,Religious,Sacred. Score. 3 pages. Secrets of Organ Playing #1017264. Published by Secrets of Organ Playing (A0.1437193). This is a calm and peaceful meditation about Holy Ghost. It is symbolized by the rhythm of the left hand pattern - reminiscent of the wild dove call which Ausra and I heard while visiting Gdansk, Poland and its historical organs - 5 notes (short, long, long, short, long). The piece is written in the key of F major with the excursion to C major in the middle episode before return to F major at the end. The keys are spiced up with some modal chords which make up colorful harmonies. This composition will be very effective in liturgical organ playing and concert programs whenever contemplative music is desired. Dedicated to my wife Ausra to whom this wild dove didn't let sleep at night.

Theme and seven variations for organ, suitable for performance in church or recital hall. Contents/Durations:Theme: 1:15Canon: 2:06Fugue I: 2:29Fantasia: 2:09Trio: 1:55Fugue II:1:43Interlude/Double Fugue 4:51Meditation: 1:47Herzlich tut mich verlangen is a German hymn with lyrics written in 1599 by Christoph Knoll. It contains 11 stanzas and is known for its plaintive character.  The melody was adapted from a secular song by Hans Leo Hassler called Mein G'müt ist mir verwirret. The tune, Befiehl du deine Wege, first appeared in print in the 1601 Lustgarten Neuer Teutscher Gesäng.The melody is associated with the prayer for a blessed death, beginning Herzlich tut mich verlangen nach einem sel'gen End (I do desire dearly a blessed end). The hymn has been referenced in the works of composers such as J.S. Bach and Brahms, and it is also associated with the organ piece BWV 727. The title is sometimes confused with O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden, as the two melodies are occasionally interchangeable in hymnals from the time.

Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals.Bach OverviewFirst of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. HistoryBach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as a court composer. StyleIt seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top.Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV. VoyagerNASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Stravinsky among others. Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550917 Composed by J. S. Bach - Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Contemporary,Easter,Wedding. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #4888281. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550917). This arrangement features the controversial Schwencke measure (ms. 27) that was originally introduced in 1783 by Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance. Duration with repeat - 4:50. Score: 7 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Style It seems like Bach created an engaging new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival        Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550923 Composed by J. S. Bach - Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #4888311. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550923). Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style.
