Anthem which was performed in King Henry the Seventh's Chappel at the Funeral of the most Noble & Victorious Prince John Duke of Marlborough By Giovanni Bononcini (1670-1747) transcribed by Guido Menestrina Il padre, Giovanni Maria Bononcini (Buononcini) (1642-1678), era stato violinista e compositore: attivo alla corte di Modena, aveva scritto un trattato, Musico prattico, pubblicato nel 1673. Il fratello minore di Giovanni, Antonio Maria, fu anch'egli musicista. Proprio dal padre Giovanni ricevette la prima educazione musicale; quando questi morì, nel 1678, divenne studente di Giovanni Paolo Colonna a Bologna, dove vennero eseguiti i suoi primi lavori. Proprio grazie al Colonna entrò a far parte dell'Accademia dei Filarmonici in veste di compositore. Nel 1685 aveva già preparato e pubblicato le sue prime opere. Ottenne nel 1688 il posto di musicista presso la basilica di San Petronio, e più tardi divenne maestro di cappella nella chiesa di San Giovanni in Monte. Sempre a Bologna fece la conoscenza del librettista Silvio Stampiglia, assieme al quale, tra il 1692 e il 1696, produrrà cinque opere. A partire dal 1692 si recò a Milano, Roma (dove fu apprezzato e sostenuto da Filippo II Colonna e dalla sua consorte Olimpia Pamphilj) e Venezia; infine, dal 1698 al 1711 si stabilì a Vienna, dove godette i favori degli imperatori Leopoldo I e Giuseppe I. Di passaggio a Berlino nel 1702, incontrò Georg Friedrich Händel, di quindici anni più giovane di lui, di cui riconobbe il talento precoce: lo avrebbe rincontrato alcuni anni più tardi. Dal 1714 al 1719 fu di nuovo a Roma, al servizio di Johann Wenzel, Conte di Gallas, Ambasciatore dell'Imperatore d'Austria a Roma, molto noto per il suo amore per la musica. Al Conte di Gallas, Bononcini dedicò la Favola Pastorale Erminia, rappresentata al Teatro della Pace nella Stagione del Carnevale del 1719. Il dramma musicale ebbe grandissimo successo sia per la musica, sia per gli interpreti, fra cui si segnalarono Domenico Gizzi (1687-1758), Musico Soprano della Real Cappella di Napoli ed il celebre contralto napoletano Francesco Vitale. Sempre nella Stagione del Carnevale 1719 al Teatro della Pace, Bononcini rappresentò il dramma per musica L'Etearco, dal librettista Silvio Stampiglia dedicato alla Contessa Ernestina di Gallas, moglie dell'Ambasciatore austriaco. Anche in questo dramma per musica Domenico Gizzi e Francesco Vitale fecero apprezzare tutte le spezie più ricercate del virtuosismo canoro. Poi, dal 1720 si stabilì a Londra, sotto la protezione del John Churchill, I duca di Marlborough. Qui si esibì anche al violoncello in numerosi concerti, molto apprezzati dall'aristocrazia inglese. Divenne membro della prestigiosa Royal Academy of Music.[senza fonte] Il pubblico londinese era, all'epoca, totalmente ignorante dell'opera italiana, e Händel stava muovendo i primi passi della sua prestigiosa carriera. Fra i due compositori si accese un forte spirito di competizione, sia che collaborassero alla realizzazione della medesima impresa (i tre atti dell'opera Muzio Scevola furono composti il primo da Filippo Amadi, il secondo da Bononcini, il terzo da Händel, al fine di soddisfare tutti e tre gli artisti), sia che, più spesso, si impegnassero in produzioni rivali. Le opere di maggior successo di Bononcini in quegli anni furono Astarto (1720), Crispo (1722), Griselda (1722), che si rivelò un vero e proprio trionfo, Erminia (1723), Calfurnia (1724). A favore dell'italiano era anche una certa ostilità verso Händel dovuta alle sue origini tedesche e alla contemporanea presenza sul trono inglese della poco amata dinastia di Hannover. Ma nel 1727-1728 scoppiò uno scandalo che compromise il successo di Bononcini e lo costrinse a lasciare Londra: il compositore Antonio Lotti accusò il madrigale di Bononcini In una siepe ombrosa di essere un plagio di un brano dei suoi Duetti, terzetti e madrigali. Fuggito a Parigi nel 1733, a causa di speculazion.

The famous Corta-jaca, the name with which the tango Gaúcho became popular, is one of Chiquinha Gonzaga's most recorded and best-known songs, along with Ó abre alas, Lua branca, and Atraente. It was born on the stages of musical theaters, where it was danced in the final scene of the burlesque operetta of national costumes Zizinha Maxixe, imitated from French by an anonymous author, performed at the Teatro Éden Lavradio, in August 1895. Actor Machado Careca (José Machado Pinheiro e Costa), the anonymous author of the play, ended up putting verses to the music of Corta-jaca, helping to popularize it, especially after his version was recorded on disc by the duo Os Geraldos. Throughout history, Corta-jaca frequented other stages and repertoires: café-cantante, chope-berrante, rodas de choro... But it was at the Palácio do Catete, in 1914, that it achieved its glory. Performed on the guitar by first lady Nair de Teffé, it caused political scandal and ended up nicknaming the administration of Hermes da Fonseca. The reaction can be measured by the impassioned speech that Senator Rui Barbosa made from the rostrum. When asked what was the corta-jaca he had heard so much about, he concluded: The lowest, the most vulgar, the rudest of all wild dances, the twin sister of batuque, cateretê and samba. But at presidential receptions the corta-jaca is performed with all the honors of Wagner's music, and one does not want the conscience of this country to revolt, our faces to blush and the youth to laugh! Never before in the history of Brazil had eminently popular music been performed at the seat of government, in front of the diplomatic corps and the country's elite. Corta-jaca has become a classic of the great repertoire of Brazilian instrumental music, meriting recordings by, among others, Abel Ferreira, Altamiro Carrilho, Antonio Adolfo, Artur Moreira Lima, Clara Sverner, Conjunto Regional do Donga, Eudóxia de Barros, Guio de Morais, Itamar Assieré, Leandro Braga, Marcus Viana, Maria Teresa Madeira, Marcelo Verzoni, Paulo Moura, Radamés Gnatalli, Rosária Gatti, Talitha Peres, TurÃbio Santos, countless bands, and some sung versions. It was written by the maestro also for singing and piano and small orchestra: oboe, viola, timpani, horns (bass), bassoon.

Questa celebre Ave Maria risale molto probabilmente al XVI secolo ed è tradizionalmente attribuita al compositore franco-fiammingo Jacques (o Jacob) Arcadelt (1505-1568) che fu anche magister puerorum (cioè: direttore del coro delle voci bianche) e successivamente maestro del coro della Cappella Sistina in Roma. In realtà , questo brano – nella versione che noi conosciamo e con le parole del saluto angelico – fu edito per la prima volta nel 1842 da Pierre-Louis Philippe Dietsch (1808 - 1865), un oscuro e modesto compositore francese, che riprendeva la chanson profana a tre voci Nous voyons que les hommes, questa sì composta da Jacques Arcadelt per sole voci femminili ed apparsa per la prima volta a stampa nel 1554 in Tiers livre de chansons, nouvellement mises en musique à quatre, presso l’editore Le Roy & Ballard, in Parigi. La parte del basso, in particolare, è interamente lavoro di Dietsch che ne ha anche modificato l’assetto ritmico per adattarlo al nuovo testo, e ha aggiunto la cadenza plagale con la parola conclusiva Amen. Vari musicisti, in seguito, si sono cimentati sia nel modificare le linee di battuta, sia le durate di alcune note, sia la stessa divisione delle sillabe, per tentare  di correggere quello che è considerato lo stress della parola latina.

It was written by the maestro also for singing and piano and small orchestra: oboe, viola, timpani, horns (bass), bassoon.

Además de ser una pieza musical, también es un baile que forma parte integral de la cultura Mixe del estado de Oaxaca, México. El mismo autor también compuso un himno especÃfico para la región titulado “Himno Mixeâ€. En la tradición y costumbres de esta región, se realizan ceremonias y ritos para agradecer o pedir a las potencias naturales como el rayo, el viento, el agua, el sol, la montaña, la madre tierra y al rey “Konk ëy†(rey bueno), quien representa el vÃnculo con lo sagrado. Estas ceremonias pueden tener como objetivo tener una buena cosecha, alejar un mal sobrenatural, mejorar las condiciones de vida, tener abundancia económica o un buen año. Durante estas ceremonias se ofrendan bebidas como tepache y mezcal, alimentos y música, incluyendo sones y jarabes para bailar.Rito Marcelino Rovirosa, es un ilustre compositor mexicano conocido como el “hijo de la sierra mixeâ€, nació en Asunción Cacalotepec, Mixe, Oaxaca el 07 de abril de 1908 y falleció en Santiago Zacatepec Mixe, Oaxaca el 05 de julio de 2000 a la edad de 92 años. Rovirosa dejó un legado de más de 200 obras que se extendieron más allá de su región y fueron interpretadas por las bandas filarmónicas de casi todos los estados de la República Mexicana. Entre sus creaciones se encuentran sones y jarabes mixes, himno mixe, los mixes, fandango mixe, raza mixe, rey condoy, lustre, fiesta animada, viuda alegre, alegrÃa de mi alma, nueva esperanza, mi paisano y pájaro montañero. Sin embargo, no todas sus obras fueron conocidas o grabadas; dejó muchas inéditas e incluso escribió varias piezas a petición de otros músicos quienes le solicitaron que las dejara sin tÃtulo ni autorÃa. Marcelino Rovirosa vivió como cualquier otro campesino; dedicaba su tiempo a cuidar sus cultivos de café, maÃz y frijol. Las noches eran sus momentos favoritos para escribir sus obras inspirándose en la naturaleza, el canto de los pájaros y las convivencias con sus paisanos. Nadie hubiera imaginado que un indÃgena mixe iba a trascender con su música más allá de la frontera mixe. En la década de los años cuarenta del siglo pasado fue humillado por el mandamás de su pueblo quien lo envió a la cárcel acusándolo falsamente. Fue llevado a pie amarrado de las manos y sujetado por una cuerda por los guardianes desde su natal Asunción Cacalotepec hasta la cabecera distrital de Santiago Zacatepec un pueblo que lo adoptarÃa más tarde, después de caminar más de 10 horas en plena serranÃa fue conducido directamente a la cárcel donde permaneció durante tres años. Mientras estaba en la cárcel su creciente fama como buen músico llegó a oÃdos de las autoridades del pueblo, del agente del ministerio público, del juez que llevaba su caso y también de don Luis RodrÃguez Jacob, lÃder de la comunidad y del distrito mixe. A pesar de estar privado de su libertad gozaba de algunos tratos preferenciales que los demás no tenÃan. Fue incluido en la banda de música que viajó a la ciudad de Oaxaca, junto con las autoridades municipales para participar en un evento oficial que resultó ser todo un éxito. Al término de la misión y de regreso a Zacatepec don Luis RodrÃguez encomendó a los maestros de música y al distinguido Marcelino Rovirosa que escribieran una melodÃa representativa de la región mixe. Rito regresó como era natural a la cárcel municipal y puso manos a la obra; le facilitaron papel pautado y pluma y en pocos dÃas la obra solicitada quedó lista y lo tituló “fandango mixe†nombre sugerido por don Luis RodrÃguez.

The Spanish National Anthem arranged for full Symphony Orchestra, there is a short version in my store in case you need it! Just need a sporting event now such as an Olympics!<br> <br> The Marcha Real (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈmartʃa reˈal], "Royal March") is the national anthem of Spain. It is one of only three national anthems (along with that of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Kosovo) in the world to have no official lyrics.<br> <br> One of the oldest in the world, the anthem was first printed in a document dated 1761 and entitled Libro de la Ordenanza de los Toques de Pífanos y Tambores que se tocan nuevamente en la Ynfant° Española (Book of the Ordenance of Newly Played Military Drum and Fife Calls by The Spanish Infantry ), by Manuel de Espinosa. Here it is entitled La Marcha Granadera ("March of the Grenadiers"). There is written its score on this book. According to this document, Manuel de Espinosa de los Monteros is the composer.<br> <br> There is a false belief that Marcha Real’s author was Frederick II of Prussia, a great lover of music. This belief started in 1861 when it appears for the first time publied in La España militar (The Militar Spain). In 1864, the colonel Antonio Vallecillo publishes the history in the diary El Espíritu Público (The Public Spirit), making the supposed Prussian origin of Marcha Real popular. According to Vallecillo, the anthem was a gift from Frederick II to the soldier Juan Martín Álvarez de Sotomayor, who was serving in the Prussian Court to learn the military tactics developed by Frederick II’s army, under orders of King Charles III. In 1868 the history is published in Los Sucesos, changing the destinatary of the gift with Pedro Pablo Abarca de Bolea, Count of Aranda. The myth was picked up like this in different publications of 1884 and 1903, until being included in 1908 in the Enciclopedia Espasa.<br> <br> According to the tradition in 1770, Charles III declared the Marcha de Granaderos as the official Honor March, and with that formalized the habit of playing it in public and solemn acts. It became the official anthem during Isabel II’s reign.<br> <br> After the 1868 Revolution, General Prim convoked a national contest to create an official anthem, but it was declared deserted, advising the jury that Marcha de Granaderos was considered as such. By Alfonso XIII’s time, it was established by a Royal Circular Order (27 August 1908) that interpreted the harmonization of the march done by Bartolomé Pérez Casas, Major Music of the Royal Corps of Halberdier Guards. During the Second Republic, Himno de Riego was adopted as official anthem, although after the Spanish Civil War, Marcha Real returned to be used as anthem, sometimes sung with the verses written by the poet José María Pemán in 1928.<br> <br> The actual symphonic version of the Marcha Real that replaces the Pérez Casas one, belongs to maestro Francisco Grau and is the official one after the Royal Decree of 10 October 1997, when the Kingdom of Spain bought the author rights of the Marcha Real, then belonging to Pérez Casas’ Heirs. According to the Royal Decree 1560/1997, the anthem should have a tone of B major and a tempo of 76 bpm (♩=76), with a form of AABB and a duration of 52 seconds.<br> <br> Under the Trienio Liberal (1820-1823), the First Spanish Republic (1873–74) (when it enjoyed of a co-officiality) and the Second Spanish Republic (1931–1939), El Himno de Riego replaced La Marcha Real as the national anthem of Spain. At the conclusion of the Civil War, however, Francisco Franco restored La Marcha Real as the country’s national anthem, under its old title of La Marcha Granadera.<br> <br> Interpretation and etiquette:<br> <br> Military bands of the Spanish Armed Forces and the National Police Corps of Spain and civilian Marching bands and Concert bands play the B flat-major version of the anthem adapted for wind bands (as arranged by Francisco Grau), and playing the A Major version is optional.<br> <br> The bugle call "To the Colors" in Spain is the version played by Bugle bands in Spanish churches in religious occasions and processions organized by civil groups and the parishes. Various versions adapted for the drum and the bugle are used, even though brass instruments play the anthem as well. But in some bugle bands, the A flat version of the anthem (the old official one, adapted for the bugle) is played. Only a bugle call is sounded when the B flat version is played.<br> <br> Being the National Anthem, and in honor of the King and Queen of Spain, it’s a common practice for all to stand once it is played. Even though it is also played in church events, respect for the King and Queen (and the Royal Family as well) is required by everyone in attendance. As it happens civilians stand at attention while those in uniform salute when not in formation.<br> <br> The current official version, as described in Royal Decree 1560/1997, is a sixteen-bar long phrase, divided in two sections, each one is made up of four repeated bars (AABB form). Tempo is set to ♩= 76 and key to B flat.<br> <br> The long, complete version is the honors music for the King, while a shorter version without the repetitions is performed for the President of the Government of Spain, the Prince of Asturias, or during sporting events.<br> <br> There are also three official arrangements: one for orchestra, another for military band, and a third for organ, written by Francisco Grau Vegara and requested by the Government of Spain. All in all, there are six different official adaptations, for each arrangement and length. They all were recorded by the Spanish National Orchestra and the Spanish Royal Guard Band as an official recording and released on compact disc for a limited period of time.<br> <br> As the harmonization of the Marcha Real was written by Bartolomé Pérez Casas in the early 1900s, the copyright has not yet expired. The government bought it from Pérez Casas’ estate in 1997 for 130,000,000 pesetas (~ € 781,316) to avoid future legal problems. Until it expires, the copyright belongs to the Ministry of Culture and collecting societies charge copyright fees, which has led to criticism.<br> <br> As a result, many different harmonisations have been devised by performers to avoid paying. Nonetheless, the rights to the 1997 Francisco Grau revision were transferred to the government at no charge, although they were not placed in the public domain.<br> <br> Need an anthem fast?
