German • English • French.Romanze für Violine und Orchester G-Dur Op. 26 is the best known and internationally most successful work by the Norwegian composer Johan Severin Svendsen (1840–1911). It was published in 1881, as was the piano accompaniment version on which the present edition is based. Today, this piece has become part of the standard repertoire of violinists from all over the world. The edition is part of the Schott Student Edition series which offers varied literature at five different levels of difficulty (from 1-easy to 5-difficult) for instrumental lessons. Practical tips by teachers help to master the pieces and make the editions valuable additions to modern music lessons. Each edition of the series is available as printed edition or digital download edition (PDF). For many works, the piano accompaniment is available as playback version (MP3 download) as well. About Schott Student EditionThe Schott Student Edition gathers instrumental works for music lessons providing a unique and varied repertoire resource including standard teaching works, lesser known pieces which are perfectly suited to lessons as well as to student concerts and competitions.The repertoire is divided into levels 1-5, from very easy to difficult, and includes works from the Renaissance up to modern performance pieces. A soothing and reflective fingerstyle classical guitar solo by Bradley Powell (The Candlelight Guitarist), from his album Beatitude Bridge. It is a moderate tempo, intermediate classical guitar level piece (though perhaps sounding more advanced). With classical style chord voicings in a modern folk-jazz chord progression. It switches between the keys of E major and E minor, then the bridge passes through E, D, and C major keys, returning to E minor/major. This sheet music is in Standard notation... ABOUT the composer: Brad Powell (aka The Candlelight Guitarist) began guitar at age ten, inspired by The Beatles. At 15, he became a protégé of jazz guitarist Joe Pass, and later studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso, and at California State University, Northridge under Ronald Purcell, with a master class under Andrés Segovia. Brad was featured performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, with the composer conducting. Brad was mentored in composition by David Rose (composer for Little House on the Prairie). Brad has composed music for TV, including Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post. Brad has ten albums as The Candlelight Guitarist. When not making music, Brad is often out hiking with his four dogs. ISBN 9781610657549. 8.75x11.75 inches.This solo piece for classic guitar is a musical theme with five variations based on an ancient nursery melody very popular in Spain and Spanish America. This musical theme is based on an ancient Spanish romance, whose oldest form appears in a gothic parchment dating from the 15th century. The most recent or modern version of this romance is from the last third of the 19th century. The version given here, Little Coal-Heaver Boy, is one of the best known. This arrangement was a mandatory piece in the thirteenth edition of the renowned International Guitar Contest sponsored by French Radio in 1987-1988. These variations were dedicated to Robert J. Vidal, contest founder and were composed in Puerto Rico in the year 1986. They are presented here in notation only. The recording was made in 1988 by Scott Tennant. These two-songs use fingerstyle classical guitar, with a mix of modern folk-classical and Renaissance flavor. At 15, he became a protégé of jazz guitarist Joe Pass, and later studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso and Ronald Purcell, with a master class under Andrés Segovia. Brad was featured performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl. He was mentored in composition by David Rose (Little House on the Prairie), and has composed music Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post. Brad has ten albums as The Candlelight Guitarist. When not making music, Brad is often hiking with his four dogs.
