Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1032644 Composed by Lars Jefferson. Jazz,Standards. Score and parts. 53 pages. Lars Jefferson #5191547. Published by Lars Jefferson (A0.1032644). This is a straight-ahead swing tune I wrote for fun a few years ago (2017). It took me a while to arrange it and make it presentable. The theoretical background is this. I uses a standard I-vi-ii-V progression, but the second time is in a different mode. Enjoy with your advanced highschool jazz ensemble or university group. It's titles PLAYING AROUND because that's what I was doing when I wrote it.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797726 By The Troggs. By Reg Presley. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary,Film/TV,Pop. Score and parts. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #3879399. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797726). LOVE IS ALL AROUND - easy arrangement for 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes Featured in the film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and covered by dozens of artists, no two versions are identical! This is a proven arrangement for four guitars (or a large ensemble) and it's packed with 'call & response' phrasing with plenty of interest for all the players. There's a sudden key-change in the middle which adds hugely to the enjoyment of playing (and hearing!) this arrangement. Arranged for players with modest experience, this piece locks together tightly to make a low-risk crowd pleaser in any concert! There are no page turns and all the parts are nicely under the fingers.Guitar 4 is supplied in treble and bass clefs, suiting a classical guitar with bottom string tuned to D, or a contra or bass guitar in normal tuning. In a large ensemble, having a mix of normal and octave Guitar 4 parts will make the sound even bigger...I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

Brass Quintet - Three Pastoral Sketches
Brass quartet : 2 trumpets, trombone, tuba
Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767578

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767578 Composed by Mike Lyons. Contemporary. Score and parts. 81 pages. Lyons Music Services #6422239. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767578). These three pieces form a small suite, linked by the idea of ‘pastoral’ or rustic situations and places. The first piece to be written now forms the middle movement, though at first it was the starting point. This is not easy music. It travels through several keys with large numbers of sharps and flats and in places the time signature shifts constantly. The first movement is modal, being based on the mixolydian and dorian modes. I took for this movement the idea of ancient Celts celebrating a victory and dancing and getting drunk around a smoky fire. Their chieftain strikes up a song, accompanied by a double drone. This melody is initially stated on the horn, with just two other instruments providing the accompaniment. At 4 before B, the remaining instruments join in, providing a rhythmic pulse and the melody moves to the Euphonium/Baritone/Trombone. Subtle variations shape the melody anew, leading to letter C. Here the complex overlapping rhythms provide a more dance-like feel to the music. Also, countermelodies start to appear which build the excitement. At letter E, the music becomes louder and the rhythmic pulse more insistent (perhaps they are dancing on the tables?) The mode changes to the more major sounding mixolydian. But from here on in, the revellers are starting to wend their way home, still singing and dancing and they gradually fade into the distance. At letter G, we’re back to three players, but with the trumpet 1 playing a rhythmic melody over the top of the original tune. The second movement is called The Aesthetes. The aesthetic movement was formed in the 19th century, but had been around before that in less formal garb. Their ideal was to emulate the Ancient Greeks and Romans – or at least their perception of what the ancients were like as found in statues, paintings and friezes. They adopted studied poses and were very effete in their mannerisms. Gilbert and Sullivan parodied the aesthetic movement in their operettas – particularly Princess Ida (but also in the Mikado and various others). So, here is a movement with classical lines in the style of a minuet, but in 6/8 rather than ¾ so that it can be more languid. All the melodies are ‘studied’ and ‘formal’ with long, languid notes and rhythms which don’t quite fit to the beat as the aesthetes pose and ponder and languidly look, studied and pale and wan. Because of the long notes in the melody, there’s an almost dream-like quality to the music as if they are seeing through a haze of Wormwood or Absinthe (a favourite drink of the aesthetes when they weren’t high on themselves or opiates). The third and final movement is called The Bohemians. This was also a movement at the end of the 19th Century. Where the aesthetes were ruled by rules, the Bohemians lived by none. They were considered wild and unconventional to say the least. The Bohemians movement owed much to the supposed free life and style of the gypsies and wanderers of Europe. Our piece starts with a gypsy violin style opening, including a cadenza, and then moves into the rapidly time shifting and gyrating gypsy dance. This section is in alternating bars of 5/8 and 6/8 with occasional 11/8 thrown in to keep you off balance. The frantic and frenetic movement continues up to letter F where things calm down a little – but not for long as the intensity increases again from Letter H to the quite sudden ending. This is tuneful yet challenging music which will take a lot of effort, but which will give a lot back in return.

Small Ensemble Flute,Harp,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797341 Arranged by Beth Kolle. Concert,Folk,World. Score and parts. 40 pages. Afghan Press Music for the Harp #4808447. Published by Afghan Press Music for the Harp (A0.797341). Songs for the Midnight Sun comprises fifteen Nordic folk melodies, dance tunes, songs and ballads that have captured the arranger's imagination over the years. For Beth Kolle, Scandinavian music is the expression of the unparalleled beauty of the Nordic countries. The exotically different modes and harmonies evoke wild nature, and unseen beings of the ancient folk beliefs. This is music meant to be sung, danced to, or crooned to sleepy children, preferably in an age-old log cabin redolent of sweet, mellow resin and many years of comforting fires. As with all her other books, these arrangements are meant to be adjusted to your own playing style. Use them as a stepping-off point for making the arrangement your own, or use some of my ideas in a different song. Consider yourself warned: many Scandinavian tunes are addictive and tend to roll around in your head. The cure for that, of course, is to find another tune to replace the one in your head. And so on....good luck with that.Contains: Song from Venjan, Traditional Song, Dalarna, Sweden, The Dream, Göran ‘Freddy’ Fredriksson, Sweden (also has flute/fiddle part), Polska from Hälleforsnäs, Traditional Polska, Sweden, Ball Polska, Traditional Polska, Sweden, Funk Fars Polska, Traditional Polska, Rättvik, Sweden, Marjankukka (Berry Flower), Lauri Keskinen, Finland (Flute or Fiddle part included), Springtime Waltz, Traditional Waltz, Sweden (Flute or Fiddle included), Walking Tune (Gånglåt efter Hamare), Traditional Gånglåt, Sweden, The Lost Sheep, Traditional Melody, Telemark, Norway, Waltz from Denmark, Traditional Waltz, Denmark, Amanda, Roger Tallroth, Sweden ,Waltz from Folldal, Traditional Waltz, Norway (Flute or Fiddle part included), Bridal March from Äppelbo, Traditional Wedding March, Sweden, Griffenfeldt, Traditional Reinlender, Norway, La Folia, Traditional Polska, Sweden (Flute or Fiddle part included)

Bydlo for French Tuba and Piano

Small Ensemble Bass Saxophone,Euphonium,Piano Accompaniment,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.974155 Composed by Modest Mussorgski. Arranged by Jose Vera. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 5 pages. Josensei #5541955. Published by Josensei (A0.974155). The French Tuba (Saxhorn Basse and later Tuba Français in Ut) was the bass of the low brass section in most french orchestras until around 1977, when the american tubist Mel Culbertson arrived to France and changed their tuba world. When Maurice Ravel made the orchestration of Mussourgsky´s Pictures at an exhibition, he wrote the famous Bydlo solo for this small instrument, the French Tuba. Nowdays this solo is comonly played on either Euphonium or Bass Tuba. It is a good thing to have this solo fresh by playing It in public and here is an arrangement that respects the orchestral part of the French Tuba as is but with some little changes in the piano part that makes It very enjoyable and interesting to perform as a part of your recital. As now the French Tuba is getting available again, I made this arrangement with this original instrument in mind, but It can be played with Euphonium or Bass Tuba as well. There is an extra part in treble clef if needed or prefered.
