Brass Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792258 Composed by Ian McDougall. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 10 pages. Gordon Cherry #4764767. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792258). Ian McDougall is one of Canada's finest musicians; a virtuoso Trombonist and first rate composer. His new work, Remember When is for solo Trombone & Low Brass Ensemble of 3 Trombones & Tuba (orchestral low brass section). The work can also be performed with a Flugelhorn or Horn playing the solo part. Lush chords with shifting brooding colors set the tone for the soloist who plays a beautiful dark & lyrical melody line. The work is in an A-B-A format with a Latin middle section featuring an ad lib. jazz solo (written out solo is provided). This work is about 3 minutes in length and can be performed by moderately advanced performers.

A Child’s Garden of Jazz for Brass Quintet

Brass Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792338 Composed by Wolking, Henryenry. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and parts. 56 pages. Gordon Cherry #4804655. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792338). As an adult I occasionally try to remember and or capture child-like experiences-maybe not so much the actual event, but the emotive atmosphere left from impressions long ago embedded in the psyche. Each movement of this work is based on spontaneous and uncalculated musical imagery of dreams and childhood reflections. I have deliberately avoided the professional composer’s bag of developmental tricks and worked for a more free flow of simple melodic ideas: they go wherever they want.Movement IInspired by the feelings I had growing up on Merritt Island Florida with my older sister Barbara. This music was a gift to her on the occasion of her 2004 marriage in Flemington New Jersey. It was originally scored for a brass quartet with which I performed. I have written three other brass quintets, and when I started thinking about this one (my fourth) this seemed like a logical choice for a first movement.Movement IIBased on a tune that came to me in a dream. It is dedicated to my wife Lois (we also married in 2004) and has a formal title of Wake Up To A Melody. I originally scored it for jazz band-more specifically for the excellent Salt Lake Alternative Jazz Orchestra, and it has recently been recorded by that group. I like the simplicity of this melody, and felt it would make a natural second movement for this brass quintet.Movement IIIThe third and most difficult movement is Tangoragrondo. It is literally a rondo with a turn-of-the century (19th-20th) ragtime melody/gallop occupying the A theme followed by a Tango (inspired by trips to Santiago Chile) for the B theme. The return to the rag (A theme) is then followed by a fantasy development (C area) with a return to to the rag (A theme) followed by a coda that recalls material from the first movement. The form is quite simple- ABACA-Coda.The material was originally developed as a movement for my double concerto Letting Midnight Out On Bail written for the Duehlmeier-Gritton piano duo and orchestra. It was recorded by the Warsaw Philharmonic and has been released on CD. A second version for two pianos has also been recorded and released by the Duehlmeier-Gritton piano duo. This orchestration for brass quintet will be the final resting place for this chaotic rondo.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784343 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 146 pages. Slide Ride #5288693. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784343). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.· Choose a tempo.· Choose a dynamic.· Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Concert Band - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.563350 Composed by Austin Ralphson. Instructional,Latin,Multicultural,World. Score and Parts. 188 pages. Austin Ralphson #3561245. Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.563350). The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series ** For the complete pack of pieces in this series, get a great bulk saving at https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/mixed-abilities-classroom-ensemble-pack-extra-value-bundle-of-music-for-school-groups-digital-sheet-music/20768644?ac=1&aff_id=559837 ** Children (and adults) who learn a musical instrument will always progress at different rates.Students also develop some of the many skills involved in instrumental playing faster than other skills. The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series has the flexibility to allow pupils of different standards to play together in one ensemble (up to five parts). It also encourages students to develop improvisation skills by providing soloing opportunities within all parts, with suggested pitches for improvising. Each piece has five different parts which are split into four ability levels as follows: A – Range of about 5 notes, easy rhythms. B – Range of about 1 octave, basic rhythms. C – Range of about a 12th, some more difficult rhythms. D – Range of about 2 octaves, some rhythmic complexity. This enables the teacher to select parts which are suitable for the standard of individual players in the group. As a general rule, the pieces have been composed as follows: Part 1 – melody / countermelody (alternates with Part 2) Part 2 – melody / countermelody (alternates with Part 1) Part 3 – accompaniment (synchronises with Part 4) Part 4 –accompaniment (synchronises with Part 3) Part 5 – bass line (independent) Each part also comes in a wide array of transpositions, clefs and pitches. Hence, almost any combination of instruments can play together in an ensemble of mixed abilities, including: Flutes, clarinets, saxophones, mixed woodwind, trumpets, mixed brass (including brass band), violins, strings, keyboards/pianos, tuned percussion. An ensemble using any combination of instruments (as is often found within schools) will work effectively as well. Example: A quintet might be selected as follows: 1A (violin), 2C(trumpet), 3B (clarinet), 4B (tenor sax), 5D (trombone) The melody in 1A would be very simple but would contrast nicely when passed to the more difficult 2C. Parts 3B and 4B will have quite a simple accompaniment between them, whilst the bass line on 5D will be more complex and rhythmically interesting. Parts can obviously be doubled up as well beyond five players. Please note that the teacher of the ensemble should be careful to pick parts which are well-suited to the players’ abilities. CRAZY LATIN! is the second piece in this series, and has additional parts for Latin percussion commonly found in the classroom. Suggested percussion rhythms are also provided with phrases by which students can remember the rhythms. You are obviously free to alter these in any way, or add additional instruments however. Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of the piece being played with glockenspiel on 1C, piano on 2B, xylophone on 3B, clarinet on 4A and 'cello on 5D. Score and all parts are included here in a variety of pitches, clefs and transpositions. It is the complete package! The Ballad Of Gilligan's Isle

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.948758 Composed by George Wyle, Sherwood Schwartz, and Sherwood Schwartzf. Arranged by Warren J. Wernick. Contemporary. Score and parts. 10 pages. Warren J Wernick #5709951. Published by Warren J Wernick (A0.948758). Gilligan's Island is an American sitcom created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz. The series followed the comic adventures of seven castaways as they attempted to survive on an island on which they had been shipwrecked. Most episodes revolve around the dissimilar castaways' conflicts and their unsuccessful attempts, for whose failure Gilligan was frequently responsible, to escape their plight. Sherwood Schwartz not only created and produced Gilligan’s Island but he wrote the famous ear-worm theme song as well. One can argue that the demonstrative and jaunty theme song now precedes the show itself in terms of popularity. It is the theme song that lays out the premise of the show perfectly: Five passengers set sail from Hawaii aboard the S.S. Minnow, crewed by the quick-tempered Skipper Jonas Grumby and enthusiastic screw-up Gilligan. When a storm shipwrecks them on a deserted island, what was supposed to be a three-hour tour turns into a three-year limbo, the passengers forever on the verge of escape but never quite succeeding. For those who remember, this little novelty cannot fail to please performers and audiences alike.

Ode to My Savior Beginner Trumpet Trio
Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1079739 Composed by Edd…

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1079739 Composed by Eddie Lewis. Classical,Instructional,Sacred. Score and parts. 6 pages. Tiger Music #683926. Published by Tiger Music (A0.1079739). I have said this in the description for other pieces, but it’s worth mentioning again. I believe that trumpet students should begin performing from the start of their careers. The problem with this belief is that there isn’t much good music written for the beginners to perform. Most of what is published is “dumbed down†and doesn’t sound like real music. I have been trying to fill that cap by composing pieces for the beginners that I would be proud to perform in public. My objective with these compositions is to write music that sounds like real music, but functions within the limitations of the beginners’ trumpet skills. My first compositions of this nature were the three bird solos, Bird March, Feathered Friends and The Purple Parrot (which I let my then current students name). One of those students performed the Bird March solo at a school assembly only three or four months after she started playing the trumpet. That student eventually quit trumpet to pursue a busy performance career in theater (she was an elementary school student) but performing the Bird March for her fellow students is a memory she will always fondly look back on. That is part of why performing early in the learning process is so important. You don’t know when students will continue, and which ones will not. For those students whose trumpet careers end up being no longer than a year, the one or two performances they have in that year are all they will have to look back on. Unfortunately, those who do not perform at all will only ever remember the drudgery of pointless practice and rehearsals. But there’s more to my early performance philosophy than just that. For those students who do continue their trumpet careers for many years, the earlier performances have a mental benefit that cannot be replaced in any other way. Their future progress on the trumpet is greatly enhanced by each performance they present in the first two years of their trumpet careers.
