In Little Seeds you will find new hymns from my heart. My devotional life is given to you in my hymnwriting. During the past three years I have been writing songs for the unity of the church - songs reminding us of our baptism. I have been writing biblical story hymns for lesser-known characters. I have written paperless songs that may be easily memorized. I set a Rumi poem. There are new hymns for Christian missions from everywhere to everywhere. You will find new texts and musical settings for folk songs from around the world. I hope I have treated these with the love and respect they deserve. You will find alternate arrangements of some songs that may be useful in different settings. Lim Swee Hong composed three tunes for this collection at my request. I am also pleased to include Lianne Tan's first published hymn tune in Little Seeds

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.837507 Composed by Brett L. Wery. Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 26 pages. Sonata Grendel Publishing #5997463. Published by Sonata Grendel Publishing (A0.837507). M45 is the Messier catalog number for an open star cluster better known as the Pleiades. Originally for chamber orchestra, Oot-kwa-tah is dedicated to SUNY Schenectady County Community College on the forty-fifth anniversary of the college’s establishment as part of the State University of New York. The college sits on land that was once part of the Mohawk nation of the Iroquois Confederacy. Oot-kwa-tah is inspired by the Iroquois legend of M45, the Pleiades star cluster. The Iroquois tell a story about seven children who met each day and danced for hours at a time instead of doing chores. An old man appeared to them one day as they danced. He shone magnificently like silver and was clad from head to toe in brilliant white feathers. The old man warned them to stop dancing lest something terrible happen to them. Ignoring the old man’s warning and growing more and more hungry and lightheaded the children began to rise into the air. If only they had listened to me, the old man thought. As the children’s parents gathered, one little boy heard his father’s voice below. The little boy looked down and saw his father. At that instant he fell back to earth. The other children continued to float higher and higher into the sky to become the Pleiades star cluster. The Iroquois call them Oot-kwa-tah and are reminded of these reckless children each time they see a falling star. Duration: 5:00

Choral Choir (Unison) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.727123 Composed by Carol Troutman Wiggins [ASCAP], Mary White Pustrom. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Octavo. 11 pages. Carol Troutman Wiggins #2907289. Published by Carol Troutman Wiggins (A0.727123). The Christmas WishVocal Solo for AltoWould you like a different kind of Christmas wish this year? Here it is!This song is based on the poem Christmas Wishes written by contemporary author and poet Mary White Pustrom. Mary wrote many poems with the theme of Christmas, including what she thought people should wish for at Christmas. While so many adults wish for a new car, a sparkling diamond ring, or celebrating with a nice vacation in the tropics, she believes that Christmas wishes should be taken a step further by considering the wishes and needs of others more so than our own. In her poem Christmas Wishes, her desire for reaching out to others and granting them their wishes for the simple things in life take on great meaning: Christmas Wishes by Mary White Pustrom Now that Christmas is drawing near I cannot help but seeAll the poor and needy people who are reaching out to me. It seems that everywhere I look there is a need to fill; I feel so inadequate when their wishes I can't fill. Among the lights and decorations, there is hunger and despair, Faces filled with sadness while bright carols fill the air; Little children who are cold and hungry wait for Santa Claus, Wishing that he would bring them food, for that's a worthy cause. Others laughing, smiling, singing - so completely unaware Of all the pain and suffering that's around them everywhere; They wish for generosity in our thoughts, time, and deeds, And wish that here at Christmas time, someone could fill their needs. My wish is that we reach out to our sisters and our brothers, Who depend on us for kindness from one to another; Fill our hearts with Christmas cheer, and teach us how to share, So that Christmas wishes will be fulfilled all throughout the year. It sounds like she might have the right idea. At this time of year, it is so easy to get caught up in buying and receiving presents, the lights, and the Christmas tree, without considering the simple needs of others. Maybe this year, these simple wishes will come true for some: · Sick little children to be healed · Homeless people and children to find a family · For the less fortunate to have enough food, clothing, shelter, and shoes on their feet · That no one spends Christmas lonely and alone, and spent the way it should be, with loving family and friends. Most of all, wish that by caring for one another, Christmas wishes would come true all year long. ~ Carol Troutman Wiggins

Choral Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.730418 Composed by James Nathaniel Holland. Children,Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday. Score. 150 pages. James Nathaniel Holland #3376293. Published by James Nathaniel Holland (A0.730418). The Piano Vocal Score (with SA Chorus) New Contemporary Classical Music from American Costa Rican composer James Nathaniel Holland in his masterful ballet adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale, The Snow Queen. Ballet yet to be premiered. Be the first to produce it! Highlights are The Dance of the Evil Snow Sprite and the Distorted Mirror, Innocence and Kai and Gerde's Special Friendship, The Waltz of the Roses ('Think of my love as a Rose'), The Waltz of the Snowflakes (Snowbees), Gerde Morns Kai's Death, The Suite of the Lady of Spring (Tale of the Tiger Lillies, The Dream of the Morning Glories, The Tale of the Snowdrops, the Hyacinth's Tale), The Waltz of the Summer Palace, Dance of the Thieves and Kai's Joyous Dance Finale. Ballet Synopsis: Evil Snow Sprites make a mirror that reflects all that is mean and evil. When it shatters, its splinters drift to the far corners of the world. Gerde and Kai are two poor children who live in Copenhagen in the early 19th Century. They live innocently with their parents and Grandmother and tend a rooftop rose garden. One winter night Kai meets the Snow Queen and a splinter from the mirror enters his eye. The Snow Queen returns and abducts Kai. Although accepted as dead, Gerde deeply feels otherwise and begins her quest to find her friend, traveling through the four seasons, sometimes beautiful and sometimes frightening. The Lady of Spring takes her as an addition to her fantastical garden filled with tales and dreams of the flowers who dwell there. But when Gerde sees the rose on Spring's bonnet she wakes from her enchantment. Her tears spring back the roses who tell her Kai is not dead. She flees from the garden. Gerde grows up in the wilderness and a crow says that he has seen Kai at the Palace of the Queen of Summer. They hurry there to find a magnificent ball in progress. Gerde is introduced to the Kai lookalike but knows something is not right. The Queen of Summer helps Gerde on her way and lends her a coach and gives her a magic red rose that will never fade.As coach searches for Kai, it enters the season of Autumn and is accosted by robber girl and a band of theives. They dance in an rousing, energetic dance taunting her. When the morning comes Gerde tells her fellow captive animals of her quest to find Kai and that all hope is lost. The pigeons finally tell Gerde that Kai was abducted by the Snow Queen many years ago. The robber girl overhears them and has a change of heart letting her go with her reindeer to the far North of the Snow Queen.Gerde finds Kai in the palace of the Snow Queen piecing together the evil mirror. She gives Kai up for dead but leaves the rose of summer beside him. Kai spots the rose and he sheds a tear. The splinter falls out and he completes the mirror. They head back for home to their families were there is a big finale of a beautiful wedding on a late summer day and live happily ever after.YouTube Complete Ballet presentation: https://youtu.be/-zDAJ-Ttw70Composer website: http://lacoronadelossantos.net/jamesnathanielholland.htmlTwo part performance CDs sold separately. Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576279 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 4 pages. David Warin Solomons #15653. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576279). This song was inspired by my initial reactions to the realization that I am infertile. In my case this was due to Kallmann's syndrome I am now perfectly happy with my infertility, after all, there is much else to do in the world and Dawkins' selfish gene can simply go spin its plot elsewhere: my children are my compositions, and they populate the world in their own way with joy, humour and thoughtfulness... wherever they will... ... However, I know there are many who are not happy with childlessness, so I dedicate this song to them ....and to my past self. The sound sample is my own performance. Here are the words: Learn this my child, who never hears my word Your luck is out, you are but but a poem deaf to change You are a romantic ramble on absurd round which the childless brain desires to range Hear this my daughter, blind to loveliness Your love is mine, untouchable, unknown to all Save to a song befitting her distress Whom Sappho loved but answered not her call See this my eunuch, watching others` joy Your luck was in, your luck was in You threw it far away, too far away for its return Save to another and another boy while I look on, unmoved as from a star Taste this my tears grown cold Resigned and pure Your love is his I know not whose nor do I care Yet love I would, and yet cannot be sure that another`s love could now be mine to share Warm this my heart These strings beget my child Their luck is in Their love is mine So close, my son! My daughter`s breath sings Through my fingers styled Sings to herself All other children shun © David W Solomons Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOB34ds34Tk

Fair Katrinelje and Pif-Paf-Poltrie (from the Brothers Grimm Song Cycle)
Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,High Voice,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800331…
(+)
Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,High Voice,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800331 Composed by Sarah Wallin Huff. Contemporary. Score and parts. 43 pages. Novel Soundtrax #11219. Published by Novel Soundtrax (A0.800331). This work by Sarah Wallin is a vocal text setting for soprano, flute, cello, and piano, completed in 2008. According to Dr. Edward David Zeliff, Fair Katrinelje... is very interesting, clever, witty, and captures the quirky little scenario of this poor fellow trying so hard to line up a bride by having to go through the firewall of her entire family and then having enough umph left over to get her attention as well. It's very Stravinskyish, and the charm and humor comes through. The story of Fair Katrinelje and Pif-Paf-Poltrie is a lesser-known fairy tale found in the Children's and Household Tales of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, the famous Brothers Grimm. Fair Katrinelje and Pif-Paf-Poltrie is a comedic dialogue. Our hero, Pif-Paf-Poltrie, is out to seek the hand of his beloved, the Fair Katrinelje, in marriage. Being the gentleman that he is, he approaches in turn each member of his beloved's family to ask their permission. Father Hollenthe, Mother Malcho, Brother High-and-Mighty, and Sister Käsetraut all respond in turn similarly – essentially, If it's all right with everyone else, it's all right with me. The challenge for the vocalist is to convey the essence and the hilarity of the dialogue by highlighting, with the mannerisms of the voice, the attitudes and characteristics of each character speaking. Above each character's lines, it is made clear whom it is that is speaking and the emotional context within which it is being spoken. The vocalist has complete freedom to effect these roles in whatever manner and to whatever degree is deemed appropriate, provided the musical integrity of the work is kept intact.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522333 Composed by Unknown - traditional. Arranged by Paul A. Jorg. Christian,Spiritual,Traditional. Octavo. 4 pages. Paul A. Jorg #5869331. Published by Paul A. Jorg (A0.522333). This song is public domain, written in the 1850's, during a time - pre-civil war - when the nation was being torn apart. The writer calms his anxiety by holding on to God's promises. Here are some lyric notes: I am a poor, wayfaring stranger - Wayfaring: traveling especially on foot; peripatetic country preachers; a poor wayfaring stranger. Wandering through this world of woe - Matthew 18:7: Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! And there's no sickness, toil or danger - John 11:4: When he heard this, Jesus said, This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it. Ecclesiastes 2:18-19: I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. Acts 14:22: strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God, In that bright land to which I go - James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.I'm going home to see my Father - John 6:40 - For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. I'm only going over Jordan - Joshua 22:4: Now that the LORD your God has given your brothers rest as he promised, return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of the Jordan. Yet though dark clouds will gather round me - 2 Corinthians 12:10: That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. I know my way is rough and steep - Psalm 16:11: You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Proverbs 15:24: The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave. But beauteous fields lie just before me - Numbers 13:25: We arrived in the land you sent us to see, and it is indeed a magnificient country, a land flowing with milk and honey. Where God's redeemed their vigil's keep - Exodus12:42: Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come. I'm going home to see my mother - Mark 10:29-31: I tell you the truth, Jesus replied, no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields-and with them, persecutions.

String Orchestra - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by trad. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century, European, Patriotic. Score, Set of Parts. 10 pages. Published by Music for all Occasions
Londonderry Air arranged for String Orchestra.<br> <br> A big band version of the song is used as the theme for The Danny Thomas Show (a.k.a. Make Room For Daddy).<br> <br> "Danny Boy" was used to represent Northern Ireland at the start of the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, sung by a choir of children on the Giant’s Causeway.<br> <br> On November 25, 2014, the Vancouver Canucks used the song in honor of the recently deceased Pat Quinn, who played and worked in many executive capacities for the team.<br> <br> There are various theories as to the true meaning of "Danny Boy". Some listeners have interpreted the song to be a message from a parent to a son going off to war or leaving as part of the Irish diaspora.<br> <br> The 1918 version of the sheet music included alternative lyrics ("Eily Dear"), with the instructions that "when sung by a man, the words in italic should be used; the song then becomes "Eily Dear", so that "Danny Boy" is only to be sung by a lady". In spite of this, it is unclear whether this was Weatherly’s intent.<br> <br> Why the name Londonderry Air? Londonderry and Derry refer to the same place, a city in the north of Ireland, and also to the surrounding county. Supposedly the city of Derry was founded by St. Colmcille, although archaeological evidence shows that people were living there thousands of years earlier. There is an excellent museum in the city, which is worth a visit if you want to find out more. The name of the city was actually "Doire", corrupted to "Derry" by people who can’t pronounce Irish. It thought to derive from an Irish root meaning "oak tree".<br> <br> Moving quickly along in history, about a millenium later the government of England was having a difficult time colonizing Ireland because of the fierce and warlike clans living there, especially in the north of the country, Ulster. The monarchs of England, almost all of whom were notorious cheapskates, were continually looking about for ingenious ways to conquer places without actually having to put up the money themselves, or run the risk of unpopularity if they lost. In the case of Ireland, some of these schemes of the "Brish gummit" (as it is termed nowadays in Ulster) are still producing unfortunate long-term consequences.<br> <br> In 1608, King James I gave the city of Derry to the City of London corporation. I guess the deal could be summed up by saying that if the City of London could figure out a way to chase all the inhabitants out of Derry, they would be allowed to keep the loot, minus a percentage for the King of course. If they lost, well too bad. In celebration of this historic agreement, the name of Derry was officially changed to Londonderry. (For further information, check out the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s History of Derry.)<br> <br> The linguistic outcome of all this today is that, if you think that King James’s deal with the City of London was a good idea, you call both the city and county "Londonderry". If you do, you are probably a supporter of the Unionist movement that seeks to keep Ulster a part of the United Kingdom. If you think it was a bad idea, you call both "Derry", and you are probably a supporter of the Irish Nationalist cause. Or you might just be someone who thinks it’s confusing for kings to be going around changing the names of places all the time for no good reason.<br> <br> You can find plenty of discussion about the political side of the question elsewhere, but here let’s look at the musical side. We have an air, collected in county Derry/Londonderry, and it doesn’t have a title. What do we call it?<br> <br> If you were a proper Victorian, there’s no way you were going to call it the Londonderry Air, much less the Derry Air, because of the improper sentiments that these titles might suggest. My parents tell me that in their youth in Australia, it was usually called the Air from County Derry. (This would, I suppose, support Winston Churchill’s theory that Australia was inhabited by "convicts and Irishmen".)<br> <br> My mother also sends the following information, referring to an arrangement of the tune by the Australian composer Percy Grainger:<br> <br> Just another note about Danny Boy, that I grew up in Australia believing to be the Air from County Derry. We were looking through some LP’s last night (back to vinyl yet!) and found a Mercury Wing Classical Favorites stereo LP SRW18060, COUNTRY GARDENS and other favorites by Percy Grainger {played by} Eastman-Rochester Pops, Frederick Fennell, conducting. The cover notes included the following: "Irish Tune from County Derry was harmonised in memory of Irish childhood friends in Australia." Considered by many to be Grainger’s masterpiece of harmonization, the tune was collected many years ago by Miss Jane Ross of New Town, Limavady, Ireland. Grainger has set it for many instrumental combinations. So there’s another variant on the name for it. It doesn’t say who wrote the notes, but the bits in quotes for each of the works on the record are Grainger’s original comments.<br> <br> The references to Londonderry Air that I’ve seen don’t go back any earlier than the late 1930s. For example, the Glenn Miller Orchestra recorded Danny Boy (Londonderry Air) in February 1940. Bing Crosby’s version was recorded in July 1941 (reference). (So many different things I could check up on!) Londonderry was an important American naval base during WWII, but the US hadn’t come into the war in 1940.<br> <br> Need an anthem fast? They are ALL in my store! All my anthem arrangements are also available for Orchestra, Recorders, Saxophones, Wind, Brass and Flexible band. If you need an anthem urgently for an instrumentation not in my store, let me know via e-mail, and I will arrange it for you FOC if possible! keithterrett@gmail.com<br> <br> Contact Publisher Related Scores

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891215 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Laurie Betts Hughes. Children,Contemporary,Country,Folk. Octavo. 34 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3256941. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891215). Lights of the Western Sky is a compilation of 3 celestial American folk songs collected by Ruth Crawford Seeger, commissioned by Casper Children's Chorale to celebrate the 2017 total solar eclipse visible in Casper, Wyoming in honor of Mick McMurray. The pieces are connected not only by the folk style and the star subject, but also by tracing the course of a day, and by focusing on the connection of the outer world to the inner soul.I. Bright Morning Stars-- An additive processional on the ultimate theme of children singing. Though the traditional verses state that the fathers are down in the valley a-prayin''' and the mothers have gone to heaven a-shoutin' (or vice versa), the lyrics have been freely adapted in the folk tradition of floating verses (adapting lyrics to personal experience) to describe the children's experience. The opening percussion motif is intended to evoke Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.II. Oh, Watch the Stars-- Oh, Watch the Stars and Great Big Stars, combined in unique ways. The two songs used, Oh, Watch the Stars and Great Big Stars, are distinct in their own right. They have been fused together in this movement, borrowing the text from one and using the tune from the other, and modifying one to partner with the other when presented simultaneously. A fusion of two styles, this movement opens solemnly and culminates in a hoedown showdown.Laurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

He taught the kingdom of God on this earth Was as man sewing good seeds in fields with great care. Then, while sleeping at night, an enemy came And sowed the tares among the wheat in shame. Soon when the wheat grew, showing great promise, Tares also covered the space all around. Knowing the young roots were tender and new, Then the man, in great wisdom, approached his good ground. Let them both grow together. Harvest time waits. The tares and wheat then gathered to their fates. Now is the harvest. Gather together All the elect from the quarters of earth. Those who will call on the Savior in faith, And in places of holiness stand with true worth. For the angels are waiting for their command. Come gather close to reach His outstretched hand.

Published by John Philips Music Service (A0.947257). A series of happy Mexican Tunes that have the audience adding to the rhythm with some hand-clapping. This chart is easy and will connect with your audience. See the back cover for the tune list. This is one of a series of charts for string orchestra that are easy to play and each relate to a single theme---patriotic, ethnic, activity, holiday or age related songs. Being easy to play---nothing past an eighth note and no hemi-demi-semi-quavers--they will be more apt to be in tune and this is good for all concerned. They all are in tempo and have a swing feeling to them to make your audience like them. After all--this is about making music and not displaying technique. Parts are Violin 1 & 2 / Violin 3 (Viola Part) / Viola /Cello / Optional Acoustic Guitar (No Electrics) / Bass / Piano / Full Score / Front & Back Covers. Bass and piano are required to make these arrangements work. See the back cover for the tune list and tempos. Electric bass will work and maybe you can convert the player to be a cello or upright player-----(another way of recruiting).

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1349477 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. 11 pages. Kevin G. Pace #934234. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1349477). An epically beautiful, sacred choral work with baritone soloist.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.Text:Shouldst Not the Heavens Weep?“ . . . for He loveth the world . . .† (2 Nephi 26:24)In a striking prophecy and opened to his view,Enoch saw mortality as a glorious truth.Curtains of creation birthed God’s pure holy race.Yet what Enoch saw were tears on His saddened face. How is it that Thou canst weep? Thou art God of all!All eternity is thine . . . this thy sacred call.Mercy goes before thy eyes, truth before thy throne. How is it that Thou canst weep? All thy worlds are known.Of my soul pure children came, from my very hands.I gave mankind agency so all love could stand. But, behold, their sins I see; mis’ry is their doom.Seeing some shall suffer much, my heart feels entombed.Shouldest not the heavens weep for these ofmy own?Suff’ring for each child of mine, I for them atoned.Tears that fall are for their souls; these must suffer too.If they choose not to repent, my love seems untrue.Chorus:Shouldst not the heavens weep? God gave life to all.Shouldst not the heavens weep? His love covers all.
