Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1236980 By Andrew Howes. By Andrew Howes. 20th Century,21st Century,Classical. Individual part. 2 pages. Andrew Howes #832517. Published by Andrew Howes (A0.1236980). This is the finale of my 'Eyeworth Suite' for the classical guitar, and it describes a tranquil, sunny afternoon by Eyeworth Pond in the New Forest, Hampshire, UK, and is written as a response to a seasonal cycle of four poems by my friend, the poet, David Dayson. The work is gentle and reflective but demands a high level of technique as a lot of it takes place around and above the twelfth fret. There will be no 'dusty bits' on your guitar after playing this one! :-)The whole suite is available either as single movements or as a complete work. The complete work is also available with tab. and consists of 'Prelude', 'Autumn', 'Winter', 'Spring' and this movement, the 'Summer Idyll' and intersperses two episocdic, lively movements between the two rhapsodic outer movements, with the doleful Winter in the middle - this does however, have a lively Yule Dance in 6/4 at its heart.

Flute,Harp,Instrumental Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1312292 By Brigitte Langnickel-Kohler - Harp and Gary Woolf - Flute. By Geraldine (Denny) Green. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. 17 pages. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #901151. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1312292). Duration - 6 minutes approx.Purchase includes Score with separate flute part (Also includes an Enharmonic Flute Part, which some players might find preferable)The Idyll For Flute And Harp was written in May 2021 at the request of flautist Gary Woolf as a wedding present for his good friends Dietrich and Ulla Hoffmann. It was played at the couple’s wedding at the end of July 2021 by Gary and harpist Brigitte Langnickel-Kohler and it received a very warm response from the wedding-goers! There are plans for further concert performances in the coming months. The above recording is the world premiere! Huge thanks to Gary and Brigitte! The music is beautifully melodic with an air about it of mid-summer and pretty countryside. After just having completed The Glastry Pearl, a huge intense orchestral work, writing this gentle little Idyll was like a welcome rest and journey into a beautiful summery meadow filled with flowers and bees and warm sunshine.

From the Idyll "At Twilight". Composed by Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900). Arranged by Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: Sheet music. Edition Schott - Single Edition. Downloadable. Op. 39. Schott Music - Digital #Q15265. Published by Schott Music - Digital
The reputation of the Bohemian composer Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900) has always been somewhat overshadowed by that of Bedrich Smetana and Antonín Dvorák. This is a pity, for Fibich, though he died young, made an equally important contribution to the emerging Czech national styl with his wide range of compositions. After starting piano lessons with his mother as his first teacher, the boy went on to music school in Prague and then to the Leipzig Conservatoire, where he learned his craft as a composer. He spent a few months teaching piano in Paris and then continued his studies with Vinzenz Lachner in Mannheim. Prague was eventually to become the centre for Fibich's musical activities: as his dream of a post at the Conservatoire remained unfulfilled, his main employment was giving private music lessons and as a composer Zdenek Fibich wrote works for many musical genres: vocal and chamber music, piano pieces and orchestral works, operas, stage music and melodramas, literary recitals with orchestral accompaniment to which he gave a new lease of life. There are biographical traces to be found in the 376 piano pieces of the collection 'Moods, Impressions and Reminiscences' Op. 41, written in 1892-98: this tells of his love for his pupil Anezka Schulzová in the form of a 'piano diary'. Its four volumes were frequently a source of material for other works, such as the symphonic poem 'In the Evening' Op. 39 (also known as 'A Summer's Evening' and 'At Twilight'), written in 1893. For his second subject in this 'Idyll' Fibich used the minature no. 139, entitled 'Lento', from his collection of piano pieces. The violinst Jan Kubelík played the melody from 1908 onwards with the title 'Poème', and the work is still known today under this title: its easy charm has made it a favourite tune in the classical repertoire. This arrangement is based on the orchestral version from which other material was adapted for the Prelude.

It was written during an 1896 stay at MacDowell's summer retreat in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where each piece was inspired by a different aspect of the surrounding nature and landscape. The best known piece is no.1 To a Wild RoseThis is No.4 In Autumn. It begins with a brisk, staccato theme followed by chromatic runs. The music shifts to a mysterious and questioning tone in the middle section before returning to the joyous opening theme.Arranged wind quintet.... Clarinet in Bb provided also.

Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Contemporary,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. 10 pages. RayThompsonMusic #2081651. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553348). Edward Alexander MacDowell (December 18, 1860 – January 23, 1908) was an American composer and pianist of the late Romantic period. He was best known for his second piano concerto and his piano suites Woodland Sketches, Sea Pieces and New England Idylls. Woodland Sketches, Op. 51, is a suite of ten short piano pieces . It was written during an 1896 stay at MacDowell's summer retreat in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where each piece was inspired by a different aspect of the surrounding nature and landscapeThe suite's first piece, To a Wild Rose, is MacDowell's best known single work according to the musicologist H. Wiley Hitchcock, and it achieved what Bomberger described as phenomenal popularity. MacDowell believed the work's popularity arose because the publisher spread its score generously across two pages. The piece begins with a spare melody, based on a simple one from the Brotherton Indians. The melody is played in short fragments and accompanied by chords and pedal points. The climax consists of a repeated dominant ninth chord, which can also be heard as a version of the Tristan chord. The piece concludes with a Scotch snap rhythm. Crawford opined that the piece's harmony saves it from blandness.Arranged for wind quintet…It could have been written for wind quintet!Other pieces are available.
