Symphony No. 7 by Beethoven for Bassoon Quartet
4 Bassoons
Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137253…
(+)
Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137253 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 14 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #737453. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1137253). This arrangement adapted for bassoon quartet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Baritone Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137257 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 14 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #737459. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1137257). This arrangement adapted for baritone sax quartet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Diego Marani #5222693. Published by Diego Marani (A0.528193). The Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92, is a symphony in four movements composed by Ludwig van Beethoven between 1811 and 1812. At its premiere, Beethoven was noted as remarking that it was one of his best works. The second movement, Allegretto, was the most popular movement and had to be encored. The instant popularity of the Allegretto resulted in its frequent performance separate from the complete symphony. This arrangement for flute quartet includes the following parts: Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3, Flute 4 or Alto Flute. It is a fantastic way to celebrate Beethoven's 250th birthday.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Bassoon - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1026218 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Gillian Horn. Classical,World. 9 pages. G. Horn #5997803. Published by G. Horn (A0.1026218). W. A. Mozart, Menuetto from Symphony no. 40 (K. 550)arranged for Bassoon Quartet by G. HornMozart is considered one of the greatest melody-writers in musical history, and this Menuetto from his 40th Symphony is a great example of this. The movement explores an angry and robust G minor theme. Although it is titled as a Minuet, the use of hemiola and three bar phrases would have made the movement quite difficult to dance to, something which certainly would have amused playful Mozart! We then have the contrast in the trio section with a softer, sweeter G major theme before returning to our Minuet once more.Mozart has always been a favourite composer of mine and the rambunctious nature of the piece works fantastically well for bassoon quartet! I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as I have.Duration: 4 mins approx. Original key. Score and parts included. Can also be performed by trombone quartet. This arrangement was originally written for Genovia Quartet in 2020 by bassoonist Gillian Horn.www.genoviaquartet.com

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.529279 Composed by Gustav Mahler. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 9 pages. Diego Marani #6675329. Published by Diego Marani (A0.529279). The Symphony No. 3 in D minor by Gustav Mahler was written in 1896, or maybe only completed in that year, but composed between 1893 and 1896. It is choral, his longest piece and is the longest symphony in the standard repertoire. It was voted one of the ten greatest symphonies of all time in a survey of conductors carried out by the BBC Music Magazine. The last movement (Chorale) in particular had a triumphant critical success. The Swiss critic William Ritter, in his review of the premiere given in 1902, said of the last movement: Perhaps the greatest Adagio written since Beethoven. This arrangement for flute quartet includes the following parts: Flute 1, Flute 2, Flute 3, Flute 4 or Alto Flute.
