Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784346 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 507 pages. Slide Ride #5288703. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784346). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.· Choose a tempo.· Choose a dynamic.· Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1040537 By Alan Wagstaff. By Alan Wagstaff. Arranged by Alan Wagstaff. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Traditional. Octavo. 36 pages. Alan Wagstaff #645329. Published by Alan Wagstaff (A0.1040537). This haunting, new song, in the mixolydian mode (Bb), is in the Irish tradition. It is written for a female choir (SSAA) with an additional solo part; the accompaniment is for harp, accordion, flute, fiddle, and bass. This song was inspired by J.M. Synge's 1904 play 'Riders of the Storm' and quotes a line from it. The chorus quotes from the Irish version of 'Fhir a Bhartain' a song written in the late 19th century by Sìne NicFhionnlaigh of Tong, Lewis, Scotland. Fear A Bháta The Boatman A fhir a bháta is na horó eile Man of the boat and no one else. A fhir a bháta is na horó eile Man of the boat and no one else. A fhir a bháta is na horó eile Man of the boat and no one else. Mo shoraid slán leat gach áit a dtéid thú. My safe blessing with you everywhere you go. Lyrics O, Bryan McCauley the boats are still moored. and down in Kilronan only ghosts are aboard. The calico is furled and the tide is still low, so rest a while longer, till the time comes to go. It’s the life of a young man to be fishing far from shore. For there’s scant other work on the wild Inishmore. Fhir a bharta na horo – fhir a bharta is-na eile. Mo shor slan leat gach ait a dteid thu. The herring are sleeping and safe from the net. So rest my fisher lad - do not rise yet. The hillcrests of Galway are scarce tinged with red. O, sleep a while longer and keep to your bed. It’s the life of a young man to be fishing far from shore. For there’s scant other work on the wild Inishmore. Fhir a bharta na horo – fhir a bharta is-na eile. Mo shor slan leat gach ait a dteid thu. The cold-hearted Ocean knows nothing of men; it takes them or leaves them, with no heed where or when. The candles are out in the homes round the Bay, so stay in my arms, love, till the first light of day. It’s the life of a young man to be fishing far from shore. For there’s scant other work on the wild Inishmore. Fhir a bharta na horo – fhir a bharta is-na eile. Mo shor slan leat gach ait a dteid thu.

Piano,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.796768 By Josh Groban. By Chantal Kreviazuk, Josh Groban, and Thomas Salter. Arranged by Gary D. Belshaw (ASCAP). Contemporary,Pop. 17 pages. DR GARY D BELSHAW #5981783. Published by DR GARY D BELSHAW (A0.796768). For the Intermediate Violinist. 15 pages. Duration: 4 minutes. In the key of D Major.First released as a single in 2012, Brave was included in Josh's sixth album, All That Echoes and included in the All That Echoes World Tour. Groban says the song is about about rejuvenation. It is an anthem in the style of You Raise Me Up.Josh Groban's musical style is often placed in the classical category, so it was perfectly natural to take this tune a step further and design it for recitals, seminars, recruiting tours, and for the advanced players in one's studio. Your accompanist will like the way the pizzicato rhythmic figures in the string section have been fleshed out with notes on strong beats to help make the rhythm fit the hand better and easier for you to stay with.Arranged in the key of D major, this is an intermediate work for violins. While some technical challenges may cause concern in the middle section, everything keeps your fingers in comfortable positions on the neck. Most of your time will be spent on the middle pair of strings. You might take a look at this same arrangement of mine in the original key of E Major; even in that key, this is still an intermediate work. This is one of those times when nothing beats the songwriter's original key. This would be a phenomenal closer for recitals or concerts. A great show-piece for social and civic events, its inspiring message would even serve in church-related functions. Keep your eye open for performance opportunities for social groups tackling issues like depression and self-image. As the song says, Wake up, wake up! Reach out, reach out!Thank you for considering my work. I welcome your reviews or comments about it; I will honor any and all suggestions for improvement. Follow me on Facebook (Gary D. Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796767 By Josh Groban. By Chantal Kreviazuk, Josh Groban, and Thomas Salter. Arranged by Gary D. Belshaw (ASCAP). Contemporary,Pop. 17 pages. DR GARY D BELSHAW #5981777. Published by DR GARY D BELSHAW (A0.796767). For the Intermediate Violinist. 15 pages. Duration: 4 minutes. In the original key of E Major.First released as a single in 2012, Brave was included in Josh's sixth album, All That Echoes and included in the All That Echoes World Tour. Your accompanist will like the way the pizzicato rhythmic figures in the string section have been fleshed out with notes on strong beats to help make the rhythm fit the hand better and easier for you to stay with.Even in the original key of E major, this is an intermediate work for violins. While some technical challenges may cause concern in the middle section, everything keeps your fingers in comfortable positions on the neck. Most of your time will be spent on the middle pair of strings. You might take a look at this same arrangement of mine in D Major; the more familiar key may help you through the trickier passages. This would be a phenomenal closer for recitals or concerts. A great show-piece for social and civic events, its inspiring message would even serve in church-related functions. Keep your eye open for performance opportunities for social groups tackling issues like depression and self-image. As the song says, Wake up, wake up! Donut Etudes v5 - Scale Duets for 2 Trombones in Bb/F, 2 Euphoniums in Bass Clef, or 2 Bassoons

Instrumental Duet Bassoon,Euphonium,Instrumental Duet,Trombone - Digital Download SKU: A0.784312 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 41 pages. Slide Ride #3570005. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784312).  If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Don’t step in the holes! I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent.  As with those exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.• Choose a tempo• Choose a dynamic. • Choose an articulation/style.  One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.  Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping 5 lines to play the same set in a new key.  If you want an additional challenge in terms of range, play them in different octaves or change the clef and key signature to expand the set. For example, if you play the F Major example in Tenor Clef, change the key signature to C Major and you have a version that is based an octave higher than the C Major version as written later. Additionally, you can change the Key. Play them in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes.  The variations are endless!  All Donut Etudes with the same version number are compatible so you can play them in mixed duets with one person on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2.  Enjoy!

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.778282 Composed by Greg Danner. 20th Century,Contemporary. 80 pages. Avanti Music #2967835. Published by Avanti Music (A0.778282). Twitter, founded in March of 2006, is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to post short messages of no more that 140 characters. Because it works as an application on cell phones people can share information immediately. In its short time, Twitter has become embedded in our increasingly networked society. The composition Twitter takes five famous tweets-some serious, others funny, and some historic and presents a musical interpretation. In keeping with the idea that a tweet is a short message, each movement of Twitter is approximately 140 seconds long. 1. There’s a plane in the Hudson. I’m on the ferry going to pick up the people. Crazy. Janis Krums, 12:36 p.m. Jan15, 2009Janis Krums posted this text and the first photo of US Airways flight 1549 moments after the plane made an emergency landing in the Hudson River after hitting a flock of birds. His quick action helped to notify rescue workers and the media. 2. Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial. Somebody help me.Conan O’Brien, 3:54 p.m. Feb. 24, 2009 Shortly after being dismissed from the Tonight Show and finding himself in-between jobs, Conan O’Brien joined Twitter. As with many celebrities, a Twitter account can allow fans to stay in touch and feel connected. What was amazing in this case was that in just two hours after this first tweet he had over 125,000 followers-the largest number ever in such a short time. His number has since grown to nearly 3 million. 3. ArrestedJames Buck, 9:30 a.m. April 10 A graduate student from the University of California-Berkeley, James Buck was covering an anti-government protest in Egypt. Buck was caught up in a demonstration, and while being taken to jail had time to post a one-word tweet-arrested. Within seconds colleagues in the United States got word of his arrest and notified the university, the US Embassy, and a number of press organizations on his behalf, leading to his freedom. 4. We just made history. All of this happened because you gave your time, talent and passion. All of this happened because of you. Thanks. Barack Obama, 11:34 a.m. Nov. 5, 2008 The Obama 2008 campaign was historic on a number of counts, and the use of technology and social media was one of them. This tweet was sent to over 2.6 million followers just after the election. 5. Are you ready to celebrate? Well, get ready: We have ICE!!!!! Yes, ICE, *WATER ICE* on Mars! w00t!!! Best day ever!! MarsPhoenix, 5:14 PM Jun 19th, 2008 NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has made an innovative use of twitter by sending messages from the Mars Phoenix lander’s point of view. The message above is undoubtedly the most exciting news ever to be tweeted on behalf of an extraterrestrial robot.
