Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1085375 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 9 pages. Kevin G. Pace #689522. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1085375). Sacred music for SATB choir with an Easter theme. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mary Ann Snowball. See text below: Why did the Savior die for me on Calvary’s mount? Why did He suffer readily with never a doubt? How could his Father bear to view as He hung with pain? Was there a cov’ring then He drew like sun over rain? The Savior died for me on Calvary’s hill. He loved his Father; He acknowledged pure will. The only purpose there was true charity. The sole intention then was His love for me. Why did the Savior suffer for a sinner like me? How could his off’ring open doors to let me go free? How could He be alone that day when blood ran like tears? Why would He bear this cross to say there are no more fears? The Savior suffered more than any will know, So He could be with me wherever I go. I’ll never be alone; His focus I’ll be. He’ll never leave His child, a sinner like me.

Small Ensemble Bass Clarinet,Pipa - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.982536 Composed by William Grosvenor Neil. Contemporary. Score and parts. 41 pages. TheComposerStudio.Com, LLC #6701343. Published by TheComposerStudio.Com, LLC (A0.982536). Other Echoes Inhabit the Garden (2009) for clarinet, bass clarinet, pipa, and erhu (score and parts) I composed this piece imagining myself in a garden of images, sonorities, and aromas that all merge in an idyllic moment in time. I have taken a line from one of T.S.Eliot’s poems in the Four Quartets, for my title, Other Echoes Inhabit the Garden. The poem, Burnt Norton, concludes with the poignant truth that humankind cannot bear very much reality. I often wonder whether my work as a composer really has any significance or meaning beyond helping my listeners temporarily escape their personal realities. In recalling Eliot’s line, What might have been and what has been/ point to one end, which is always present I am reminded that a melody, a single line of lyric pitch flow evokes memory in the mind of the listener and that rhythm and accent often draws our attention to the present moving towards the future. So, with these inherent powersof music in mind, it was my goal to create a piece of vibrant and engaging music that relentlessly draws the listener into the present moment. Eliot also alludes to a timeless merging of present and past in this poem. His line, then a cloud passed and the pool was empty brought back memories of being a child watching clouds almost unnoticeably move across the sky. I was similarly inspired to conclude Other Echoes Inhabit the Garden with music that evokes an ecstatic stillness tempered with a longing for the past. WGN

Published by BJE Music (A0.750993). The Sans Day Carol or St. Day Carol is one of the many Cornish Christmas carols written in the 19th century. This carol and its melody were first transcribed from the singing of Thomas Beard, a villager in St Day in the parish of Gwennap, Cornwall. The fourth verse is a translation from the Cornish version, Ma gron war'n gelln. The lyrics of Now the holly bears a berry, the text most associated with the Sans Day Carol. The arrangement here is for full Concert Band - which could be used as an accompaniment to the singing of the traditional words.Grade = 3 Duration = 3:25 minsThe lyricsNow the holly bears a berry as white as the milk, And Mary bore Jesus, all wrapped up in silk, And Mary bore Jesus Christ our Saviour for to be, And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly. Holly! Holly! And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly! Now the holly bears a berry as green as the grass, And Mary bore Jesus, who died on the cross, And Mary bore Jesus Christ our Saviour for to be, And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly. Holly! Holly! And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly! Now the holly bears a berry as black as the coal, And Mary bore Jesus, who died for us all, And Mary bore Jesus Christ our Saviour for to be, And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly. Holly! Holly! And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly! Now the holly bears a berry as blood is it red, And Mary bore Jesus who rose from the dead, And Mary bore Jesus Christ our Saviour for to be, And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly. Holly! Holly! And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly!

Fotheringham.Text:Help me to remember the price that has been paid.By the love of Thy pure Son, all my fears are stayed. When he suffered for all sin, felt all pain and grief,He rescued me from death and bought me sweet relief.Entering the Garden, my Savior knelt to pray.Sensing what was coming, He sought another way.Not my will, but Thine be done. Christ would bear the cost. The bitter cup, He drank it up that none be lost.Falsely jailed and tortured, He wore a crown of thorn,Shunned by all His people, left lonely and forlorn.Crucified upon a cross, nails pierced flesh and bone.He suffered more, but meekly bore the cost alone. Help me to remember my soul is not my own.Purchased with His precious blood, I kneel at His throne. When He gave His life for me, worth more than all gold. His love for me, I clearly see and I am sold.CHORUSHelp me to remember ev'ry promise I have madeTo honor and obey Him for the price He paid.

The fifth of a series of five volumes that are geared toward smaller lever harps with a bass range that goes to the G which is one and ½ octaves below middle C. Volume five includes songs for Lent, Easter and Pentecost. These tunes have the added benefit of being arranged in keys that are accessible to most vocal ranges, which is especially helpful when playing along with congregational singing. Lever changes are indicated with diamond shaped notes. Some tunes have no lever changes, some have a lot. The left hand in a few of the tunes is quite active. 75 tunes, in all.<br> Table of Contents:<br> In the Hour of Trial, We Give Immortal Praise, Soldiers of Christ, Arise, How Firm a Foundation, Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone, Lord Jesus Christ, My Life, My Light, Near to the Heart of God, Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken, Out of the Depths I Cry to Thee, Lenten Hymn, Break Thou the Bread of Life, O Love, How Deep, How Broad, How High, Here, O My Lord, I See Thee Face to Face, Tell Me the Story of Jesus, Forty Days and Forty Nights, Hail, Thou Once Despised Jesus, O Day of Rest and Gladness, Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above, Wake, Awake, for Night Is Flying, The Lord Jehovah Reigns, Come, Thou Almighty King, Day by Day and with Each Passing Moment, I'll Praise My Maker While I've Breath, Ah, Holy Jesus, According to Thy Gracious Word, All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name, Jesus, Priceless Treasure, Before Jehovah's Awful Throne, There Is a Balm in Gilead, O Love That Will Not Let Me Go, Bread of Heaven, on Thee We Feed, Awake, My Soul, and With the Sun, The Heavens Declare Thy Glory, Lord, O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus, Come, Christians, Join to Sing, A Wonderful Savior Is Jesus My Lord, I Am Thine, O Lord, I Am His, and He Is Mine, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, Amazing Grace!, Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross, Jesus Paid It All, There Is a Green Hill Far Away, Were You There?, Behold the Savior of Mankind, At Calvary, Come, Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain, The Old Rugged Cross, In the Cross of Christ I Glory, All Glory, Laud and Honor, O Sacred Head, Now Wounded, And Can It Be That I Should Gain?, The Day of Resurrection, Go To Dark Gethsemane, Hosanna, Loud Hosanna, Jesus Lives, and So Shall I, Christ, the Lord Is Risen Today, Bread of the World, in Mercy Broken, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, Cross of Jesus, Cross of Sorrow, The Head That Once Was Crowned, My Savior's Love, The Strife Is O'er, The Battle Done, Christ Arose!, Never Further than Thy Cross, Beneath the Cross of Jesus, Let Us Break Bread Together, Alas! and Did My Savior Bleed?, Christ Jesus Lay in Death's Strong Bands, What Wondrous Love Is This?, Jesus Christ Is Risen Today, Loved With Everlasting Love, Low in the Grave He Lay, O Sons and Daughters, Let Us Sing, Welcome, Happy Morning

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818191 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Philip Le Bas #6603399. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.818191). A new composition setting the words of Psalm 133 for three-part (SABar) choir and piano. This cheerful, perhaps even rather idealistic psalm expressing the joy of kindred dwelling in unity has long been used to give voice to a human longing for acceptance by others, whether in a family or a community. Its verses compare this familial unity to the tradition of pouring expensive ointment over the head of visitors. Far from our modern use of oil for lubrication, this is an ancient middle-eastern oil of welcome and washing and feeling part of a community. Dwelling in unity is also compared to cloudy mist which regularly descends on the heights of Mount Hermon in Zion, providing moisture to an otherwise arid land and enabling life across the whole country. This setting is unashamedly playful, popular and romantic, with verses adding a more mysterious, metaphorical quality to the piece, and bringing to expression the deep joy of living in harmony with others..., even if finding this is not always easy. The composition is ideal for use by a parish choir, employing relatively easy part singing with a supportive piano part.Psalm 133: Ecce quam bonum et quam iucundum, habitare fratres in unum. Behold, how good it is, how pleasant, for kindred to dwell in unity. It is like precious ointment upon the beard, running down upon the beard of Aaron; like the dew of Hermon, which falls upon the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing: life for evermore.

Contemporary. 110 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6318201. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818344). Psalm 19 – The Heavens Declare - Quintet for Winds and Piano ♫ transcribed for brass, woodwind, and string ensembles ♫ This composition was written for 5 music educators to perform at a fundraiser for music programs in our school district. It has been transcribed with flexible instrumentation so that it could be performed by brass, woodwind, or string quartets (plus piano), a creative mix of instruments (choose an instrumentation for each of the 5 parts) or a small band. ♫ The text comes from the beginning verses of Psalm 19 that point out that the skies bear witness to the glory and creative power of YHWH (sometimes represented by the LORD, Yahweh, or Jehovah) the God who created heaven and earth. The laws of nature, The laws of nature controlling the uncounted stars spread across almost limitless space, the vast number of light years to the closest star, … a person doesn’t need the words of religious instruction to see evidence of God’s work. Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841250 Composed by Chris Gordon. Contemporary. Octavo. 18 pages. Cool Wind Music Digital #3029087. Published by Cool Wind Music Digital (A0.841250). A setting of a very powerful poem by English poet, Ted Hughes, about the onset of autumn in an English (Yorkshire) garden and the surrounding countryside. It is full of pathos and passion, harmony and dissonance, chaos and peace - just like English weather! This is a very individual and innovative choral setting of Hughes' poem which is, itself, rich in 'meaty' metaphor and colour - and the composer is a vegetarian! It evokes a savage Nature within a savage landscape where humans and animals compete for space and for food. It is October, the fields and woods and gardens of rural Yorkshire are readying themselves for the cold and desolation (and despair) of winter which isn't far away in time. 'A glass, half-filled with wine, left out(side) To the dark heaven all night, by dawn Has dreamed a premonition of ice across its eye as if the ice-age had begun its heave.' That is only two and a half stanzas but you see from these lines that there are veiled threats of (Nature's) violence in the heavy tread of the poet's slowly-building angst over what is happening in the surrounding countryside - and his fear grows, and his awe grows, with every line. There is even fear underlining the very last line: 'And now it is about to start.' Winter is creeping closer and closer towards the house and it will not be pleasant to experience!I have tried to instil a little of this in the music which keeps skidding from consonance to dissonance and back to consonance. Sometimes the dissonance piles up, like snow driven by the wind piles up into deep banks; sometimes the music relaxes into stillness and calm (painted in tonal music) like a crisp, mild late autumn or early winter's day when the sun warms the landscape and life appears bearable, tolerable. I hope this adds to the song's 'charm'. It wasn't easy to write: sometimes the right music was elusive. The music ends with the word 'October' repeated three times, with voices overlapping in a little canon. This conjures up the wistful feelings of the poet as he looks out onto a peaceful scene, soon to be filled with all manner of 'natural violence', while his inner peace will soon be shattered by the mayhem about to be unleashed around him.Setting Ted Hughes is no easy task. It is for choirs and choirmasters to judge if I have succeeded in conveying the 'sense and sensibility' of a classic 20th century English poem. The price is for one copy: please purchase a sufficient number of scores if you intend to perform this work. Contains:<br> "Greensleeves 2012"<br> - taken from the Isadar solo piano collection, "O Christmas" (also available on SMP)<br> <br> Sounds like: Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas," Liz Story's "The Gift," George Winston's "December," legacy Windham Hill solo piano artists, "A Winter's Solstice" compilations.<br> <br> Note: “Greensleeves 2012” is a revisited and evolved arrangement which like my earlier version, was inspired by – and also pays ‘homage’ to – Liz Story’s brilliant take on this timeless piece.<br> <br> Transcribed by: David Shenton ( https://www.shentonmusic.com/ ) verbatim to the sound recording<br> <br> Album review by: Michael Diamond (http://michaeldiamondmusic.com):<br> <br> Fresh on the heels of his highly acclaimed chart-topping CD, Reconstructed, Isadar gifts us with a sparkling new album of holiday-themed instrumental music for solo piano, entitled “O Christmas.” Given the proximity to his recent release, one might assume that this one was quickly produced, but in reality O Christmas has been 7 years in the making. Various circumstances including other recording projects, a segue into the field of video production, and a cross country move from NYC to the west coast and later back again, created delays with the completion of the album. But as they say, “good things come to those who wait.”<br> One of the most interesting things about this album is the fact that the selections are traditional Christmas songs, yet some were chosen because they are less well known, or “off the beaten path” as Isadar characterizes them. This follows the pattern set by his 1999 Christmas album “In Search For The Meaning Of Christmas,” yet this new CD mines even deeper in its quest for interesting and unusual choices.<br> <br> The album begins with a track called “Good Christian Men.” Steeped in history, the song dates back to 14th century Germany and its Latin title was originally “In Dulci Jubilo” before it was translated into English in the 1800’s. Isadar’s interpretation creates a lively and festive air that makes a perfect portal to the recording. The high-spirited mood continues on the next song, “Teddy Bears Picnic,” which although not technically a Christmas song, has been interwoven by Isadar with “March Of The Toys” to tie it in with the holidays – a clever arrangement of these intriguing melodies. One of the more well-known carols on the album is “O Christmas Tree” and is sure to have listeners humming along with it’s familiar refrain.<br> <br> A track entitled “Still” is an innovative rendition of the classic “Still, Still, Still” which Isadar has put his own spin on, or as he jokingly puts it “jazzed up shamelessly.” No such liberties were taken on the classic “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” however. This song provides a showcase for Isadar’s accomplished grand piano work, featuring lush left hand arpeggios creating a strong foundation for his more delicate right hand melodies to dance upon – a powerful and moving combination. Another of the less well known, yet equally inspiring tunes is a Puerto Rican carol entitled “Song Of The Wise Men.” It has been said that: “Christmas is, above all, a children’s holiday, and many hymns are addressed to children, reminding them that the real reason for the sugarplums and Christmas trees is the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child.” This theme is well reflected in Isadar’s choice of “O Come Little Children,” based on a carol from the 1800’s.<br> <br> Among my favorite tracks on the album are the wistful strains of “Greensleeves 2012,” which Isadar interprets with elegance and grandeur and also pays ‘homage’ to Liz Story’s brilliant take on this enduring composition. This is followed by a rendition of “Masters In This Hall,” which can best be described as, well… “masterful.” The song dates back to the sixteenth century, and is another of the less well-known tunes that Isadar has chosen to feature. The album draws to a close with Isadar invoking artistic license on what is perhaps one of the most unique and liberal versions of a classic carol heard here yet. Based on “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” Isadar characterizes it as “an uninhibited melancholy arrangement.” While I don’t know if “melancholy” is the word I would use to describe it, it does have a pensive quality and is presented more as a nocturne than usual lively carol it is known as. I really liked the interpretation and respect Isadar’s creativity and distinctive rendering of the song.<br> <br> “O Christmas” is an exceptional holiday collection, not only for Isadar’s elegant grand piano artistry, but as well for the interesting and sometimes unexpected repertoire contained within. Like ornaments on a tree, the songs adorn the album, enhancing its beauty with their diversity, individuality, and timelessness. Given the well-deserved accolades and popularity of Isadar’s distinctive piano style, I’m sure that fans will want to include “O Christmas” in their collection and make it a part of their holiday tradition.
