String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.773330 Composed by Various. Arranged by Yoel Epstein. Christian,Contemporary,Jewish,World. Score and parts. 37 pages. Yoel Epstein #4285845. Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.773330). These six songs have become icons of remembrance of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. They are traditionally played on Holocaust Day, which is on the 28th day of the Hebrew month of Nissan in Israel, or January 27th in the rest of the world. Unter Dyne Vyse Shteren (Under the Starry Sky) was written by Avraham Sutskover, a leading Yiddish poet, while trapped in the ghetto of Vilna, in July 1943. Days before the ghetto was destroyed and all the Jews murdered, Sutskover escaped to the forest with his wife. He reached Russia, and in 1947 moved to Palestine. He died in Israel in 2010 at the age of 96. The poem was set to music by Avraham Brodna, a simple laborer in the Vilna ghetto who died in a concentration camp. Ani Maamin (I Believe): The words to this simple song are of the Jewish prayer I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah. The tune is attributed to Azriel David Festig, a leading Warsaw hazzan (cantor) who died in the Holocaust. The song was performed after the war by Rabbi Shaul Yedidia Eliezer Taub, the Admor (Rabbinical leader) of the Modzitz Hassidic sect, and has become the iconic song of the remembrance in the Hassidic community. Shtiller Shtiller (Hush Hush) was written by Alexander Volkovitzky, then a 12-year-old boy, in the Vilna Ghetto in the spring of 1943. Volkovitzky, who wrote the melody for a song contest organized to encourage the cultural life of the ghetto, eventually came to Israel where he (under the name Alexander Tamir) became a leading pianist and music educator. The words are by Shmerke Kacserginsky, a leading poet of Vilna, who later escaped the Holocaust and migrated to South America. Papirossen (Cigarettes) actually predates the Holocaust by 15 years. It was written by Yiddish actor and composer Herman Yablokoff in 1922 in Grodno, Poland. Yablokoff later immigrated to America, where he produced a musical Papirossen that incorporated the song. It was later made famous by the Barry Sisters, a Yiddish popular music group. Donna Donna was written by Shalom Secunda, with words by Aaron Zeitlin for the Yiddish musical Esterke in 1940. Though the song originally related to the 600-year-old legend of a Polish king who married a Jewess, it quickly became associated with the Holocaust because of its haunting message. The song has entered the popular folk repertoire, with canonical renditions by Joan Baez, Theodore Bikel, and many others. Hatikva (the Hope) is Israel's national anthem. The words are by Naftali Zvi Imber, and the tune is a traditional eastern European tune. You are welcome to try some of my other arrangements. In addition to the songs offered on this site (you can see them at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=Yoel+Epstein ), I have arranged three songs from the Holocaust, which I arranged and distribute for free on IMSLP. You can find them at http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Ravpapa. If you need arrangements of any of these songs for special combinations of instruments, feel free to contact me, and I will try to accommodate. Write me at yoelepst@gmail.com. Hope you enjoy.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813705 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474521. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813705). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Brass Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but if you are considering using this selection for church services in which a congregation may sing along, I would suggest that you look for the arrangements of either I Vow to Thee, My Country, O God, Beyond All Praising, O Spirit All Embracing or Thaxted, also by Regis Bookshar. They are all based on the same excerpt from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Trumpets (one of which has the lead), 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter bas.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813674 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6473843. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813674). I Vow to Thee, My Country (Thaxted) (Bb) (Brass Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone (which has the lead) and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Brin.

Please visit https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=sherry+lewis+publishing for all of the titles I offer. If you can’t find a title then contact me through stringquartet@hotmail.com and I’ll give you the link back to Sheet Music Plus’s listing. VERSATILE Titles that include four parts are written with the idea that they can be performed with 1, 2, 3 or 4 musicians. Most of the contemporary/popular titles include a chord chart for a bass instrument. PRACTICE needs would vary according to the level of the performers but my goal is to be sight-readable for most performers and groups. AUDIO SAMPLE The 30 second mp3 is frequently shortened and may not start at the introduction to get to the reprise. The actual introduction will be in the sheet music. LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations. ARRANGEMENTS usually follow the original version. There is an mp3 where you can hear 30 seconds and get a feeling of the originality of the work. EXCELLENT for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings and recitals. APPROPRIATE for students and schools. CHURCH REPERTOIRE I’m always adding more titles. Thank you for your purchase!

Clarinet Quartet: 3 Bb clarinets and bass clarinet. - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by A, Vivaldi. Arranged by Keith Gemmell. Baroque Period, Repertoire, Recital. Score, Set of Parts. 10 pages. Published by Keith Gemmell
Here we have an abridged version of ‘Spring’ from Vivaldi’s famous ‘The Four Seasons’ suite, arranged for a clarinet quartet. A little challenging perhaps but instantly recognisable and enjoyable to play. Suitable for intermediate players and above - no fiendishly difficult bits - the main points to watch out for are the tempo changes at bar 28 (where the first clarinet slows the tempo before a slight accelerando) and bars 32 (rall.) and 34 (a new tempo, slightly down on the opening one, is established). These tempo markings are not obligatory and the piece can ebb and flow rubato fashion at these points, if you wish. Also, note the rallentando at the end.In a few places where long sixteenth-note passages occur, breath marks may be needed. These have been deliberately omitted to enable the players to work out what’s best for them.Enjoy yourselves!

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.773335 Composed by Folk. Arranged by Yoel Epstein. Christian,Jewish,Sacred,World. Score and parts. 10 pages. Yoel Epstein #4286157. Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.773335). This song has become an icon of remembrance of the six million Jews who died in the Holocaust. It is traditionally played on Holocaust Day, which is on the 28th day of the Hebrew month of Nissan in Israel, or January 27th in the rest of the world. This is one of four songs for Holocaust Remembrance Day that I have arranged for string quartet. The set of songs is available for download at https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/four-songs-of-the-holocaust-arranged-for-string-quartet-digital... The other songs are Unter Dyne Vyse Shteren (Under the Starry Sky) was written by Avraham Sutskover, a leading Yiddish poet, while trapped in the ghetto of Vilna, in July 1943. Shtiller Shtiller (Hush Hush) was written by Alexander Volkovitzky, then a 12-year-old boy, in the Vilna Ghetto in the spring of 1943.

Arrangement of the famous concert of Vivaldi “The Four Seasons”. This movement belongs to “Spring”. In this movement, Vivaldi expresses the arrival of Spring. After a long winter in which the snow covers the great landscape with white, spring emerges as an explosion of color. The flowers, the butterflies and the song of the birds begin with a hymn of joy with which this beautiful season is received.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767259 Composed by Mike Lyons. Contemporary. 28 pages. Lyons Music Services #3124721. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767259). A piece for flute quartet (4 flutes, no bass/alto) written for Sue Pamp wo asked me to write this for her group. The piece has three movements:1. Spring: This movement depicts the birds and fowers in spring as the world comes to life after winter. halting at first, the new growth soon progresses to a hubub of sound. The ending is not a typical cadence, because I didn't want it to feel finished or in any way complete.2. Aurora: Named for the goddess of the dawn, strange harbinger of new beginnings. Aurora is ethereal and strange, difficult to pin down. Although the music is slow in tempo, the shifting harmonies make much use of dissonance to create a feeling of evanescence and instability.3 Life Stream: A final joyous shout as life grows at an exponential rate, filling the air with joyful sounds.
