Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1089925 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by James Haynor. Classical. Score and parts. 120 pages. James Haynor #687638. Published by James Haynor (A0.1089925). Johann Strauss Jr. is known primarily for his beautiful waltzes, hence his renown in Vienna and elsewhere as the Waltz King. The Blue Danube and Emperor assume their rightful place in this medley for orchestra, but also represented are two of his rousing polkas - Tritsch Tratsch and Thunder and Lightning. The beautiful Andante from Die Fledermaus is present as well to showcase the melodic genius of Strauss. A great addition to any program! ( Duration - 4:28 ).

Large Ensemble Accordion,Alto Saxophone,B-Flat Clarinet,B-Flat Trumpet,Drum Set,E-Flat Tenor Horn,Euphonium,Trombone,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1036063 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Daniel S. Augustine. Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 37 pages. Daniel S. Augustine #641162. Published by Daniel S. Augustine (A0.1036063). Pytala Waltz is based on an old (and slightly bawdy) traditional Polish folk song, variously named Pytala Sie Pani (A Lady Is Asking) or Wszystkie Rybki (Dreamy Fish Waltz). It made its way to the United States in the 1920s and by 1940 to Bremond, Texas. In 1946 a fiddler in the Texas Playboys band recorded it as Westphalia Waltz. Since then it has been recorded by many artists, such as Hank Thompson, Johnny Gimble, Asleep at the Wheel, and Brave Combo. The present arrangement, however, is based on the original Polish folk song Pytala Sie Pani. This arrangement is intended for a small German or polka band, but the instrumentation is flexible: 2 Clarinets, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax (doubling Euphonium), 2 Trumpets, Eb Alto/Tenor Horn (plus Horn in F), Trombone, Euphonium (both bass and treble clef), String Bass, Tuba, Accordion (or Piano), and Drums. Large Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Horn,Oboe,Piccolo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1038136 Composed by Bela Bartok. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Classical,Folk. Score and parts. 46 pages. RayThompsonMusic #643066. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1038136). The complete set arranged wind dectet and bass Romanian Folk Dances Sz. 56, BB 68 is a suite of six short piano pieces composed by Béla Bartók in 1915. He later orchestrated it for small ensemble in 1917 as Sz. 68, BB 76. It is based on seven Romanian tunes from Transylvania, originally played on fiddle or shepherd's flute. The original name for the piece was titled Romanian Folk Dances from Hungary but was later changed by Bartók when Transylvania became part of Romania in 1920. It is nowadays available in the 1971 edition which is written with key signatures although Bartók rarely ever used key signatures. This set of dances consists of six movements and, according to the composer, it should take four minutes and three seconds to perform, but most professional pianists take up to five minutes. The list of the movements is as follows (with the original Hungarian title listed first, the most commonly known Romanian title second, and the English translation in parentheses): Bot tánc / Jocul cu bâtă (Stick Dance)The melody of the first movement, according to Bartók, came from the Mezőszabad (present-day Voiniceni) village that was part of Mezőcsávás (present-day Ceuașu de Câmpie) commune which was located in the Maros-Tordaadministrative county within Transylvania, and he first heard it when two gypsy violinists were playing it. Brâul (Sash Dance)The second movement is a typical dance from Romania called Brâul, for which traditionally a sash or a waistband was used. This melody came from Egres (present-day Igriș), in the Banat region. Topogó / Pe loc (In One Spot)The third dance comes also from Egres (Igriș), but its theme is much darker and its melody recreates Middle Eastern instruments, such as the flute.[4] Bucsumà tánc / Buciumeana (Dance from Bucsum)The fourth dance came from Bucsony, Alsó-Fehér County (today Bucium, Alba county in Romania) Román polka / Poarga Românească (Romanian Polka)The fifth dance is an old Romanian dance similar to the Polka and comes from Belényes (present-day Beiuş, in Bihor county), near the border between Hungary and Romania. Aprózó / Mărunțel (Fast Dance)The sixth and last dance is formed by two different melodies: the first one comes from Belényes (present-day Beiuș) and the second one comes from the then named Nyagra (present-day Neagra) village within the Palotailva (present-day Lunca Bradului) commune. Both on the orchestral version and on the original piano version, the final two dances are performed attacca-without a break between movements.

Published by Luiz C Teixeira (A0.891669). Polone is a concert piece composed by Ernesto Nazareth in 1907 As you know, Nazareth passed between the scholar and the popular, whether as a pianist or as a composer. In addition to his dozens of tangos, waltzes and polka, Nazareth composed a small number of works that we can call concert pieces because they were clearly inspired by composers of the Romantic period. This is one of his most virtuosic pieces, having survived in a 12 page manuscript present in the Eulina Nazareth collection. https://youtu.be/g-lAHBElrgM

Composed by Carlos De Lemos Almada. For Guitar (Classical). Brazilian. Intermediate. E-book and online audio. 32 pages. Published by Mel Bay Publications, Inc - Digital Sheet Music
ISBN 9781610651783. As one can easily imagine, it would be very hard for a guitar student to start reading the scores of the traditional choro repertoire, most of them with large number of technical difficulties. It would be much better if they could start with some easier pieces - of intermediate level - in order to be presented to the choro language in a more gradual and appropriate manner. That is the main goal of this book. It has 13 studies (in the 13 more commonly used keys for the choro guitar) written in a reduced form and in the principal stylistic choro variants: besides real choros, there are polkas, maxixes, Brazilian tangos and xotis. The more used and characteristic rhythmical figurations are present in each of the studies as the principal. Also aiming at the simplification of execution, all studies were composed with only two voices (melody and bass) and with no chords (although harmonies are quite evident due to the choro melodic particularities). Audio with all 13 studies is included.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1086225 By Idalmo Santos. By Francisca Gonzaga (Chiquinha Gonzaga 1847-1935). Arranged by Idalmo Santos. Latin,Pop. Score. 4 pages. Idalmo Santos #690420. Published by Idalmo Santos (A0.1086225). Chiquinha Gonzaga's first composition, in 1877, born out of improvisation in a choro circle at the home of composer Henrique Alves de Mesquita, the polka received the name Atraente (attractive) for dragging the instruments present. It was a resounding success (15 editions in 1877) and projected the name of Chiquinha Gonzaga to fame - at first uncomfortable - in the patriarchal society of the Second Reign. The sudden popularity of the author was seen as a provocation by her family, who began to destroy the sheet music sold on the streets by slave boys. It became a classic of Brazilian instrumental music and became part of the great choro repertoire. It was published in 1932 as No. 11 of the 2nd series of Alma Brasileira, choros for flute. Atraente was recorded by musicians such as Antonio Adolfo, Altamiro Carrilho, Benedito Lacerda, Clara Sverner, Eudóxia de Barros, Henrique Cazes, Leandro Braga, Marcus Viana, Maria Teresa Madeira, Muraro, Paulo Moura, Pixinguinha, Rosária Gatti, Talitha Peres, TurÃbio Santos, in addition to orchestras and bands. At the end of the 1970s, HermÃnio Bello de Carvalho wrote the lyrics, in records made by Leci Brandão, OlÃvia Hime and Edison Cordeiro.
