Their manager advised them to take a short break from their work and go to a movie theater to see the film. Richard and Karen were immediately taken with this song and agreed that it should be the follow-up to their previous hits. After returning home, they recorded it, released it in December, and it went gold in only two months. The Carpenters' success with this song helped it win the 1970 Oscar for Best Song.

Grouping the parts in this manner is natural and advantageous for this particular swing composition. These part groupings will help players in a group coordinate with each other from their group score. This work was long reputed to be the work of Joseph Haydn, but later scholarship suggested that it was actually written by Leopold Mozart. Its authorship is still disputed, however, and other composers have been proposed as the symphony's true author, including Joseph Haydn's younger brother Michael Haydn, who purportedly contributed movements to the work.Recent research on a newly found manuscript suggests the Austrian Benedictine monk Edmund Angerer (1740–1794) to be the author. If Angerer's manuscript (from 1765, entitled Berchtolds-Gaden Musick) is the original, the Toy Symphony was originally written not in G but rather in C. These findings, however, are disputed among scholars. There is reason to believe that the true composer will likely never be known, in whole or in part, given its confused origins and the paucity of related manuscript sources.Even without a name attached to it, the piece has become a mainstay for children's shows and Christmastime concerts. ( A quail makes it’s only appearance in the 2nd movement.Noisemakers rattle throughout the first of its three movements. The cuckoo and trumpet  call out mischievously during the minuetto of the second movement , and a quail joins the nightingale in the trio. In the short third mvt which is played 3 times, they all play again, each repeat faster than the previous one.The presence of the toy instruments make this a fun piece for children to play, especially when there are also some toys waiting under the tree.My arrangement is based on the Kinder-Symphonie attributed to Leopold Mozart. It is scored in C.it is in 3 mvts and is arranged for double wind quintet, bass and toy percussion.i have distributed the original strings around the woodwind, and composed original classical horn parts.Sometimes known as Children’s Symphony.

Roger Peterson at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers Florida on August 13, 2023 based on the text of Psalm 19: 1-14.. It actually has the lyric of Psalm 19;14 directly embeded in it. Rev. Peterson projected real images of a telescope and a microscope on the front of the church. They are referenced in the song. The tune has an interesting history. When I was a middle school teacher back in the '80's, our assitant pricipal told the first assembly there were just a few rules to follow to not be in trouble. He said, If you're where you'r supposed to be; and it's when you're supposed to be there; and you're doing what you're supposed to do; you're OK, tha's all you need to know.  I set that to music and our middle school chorus sang it in the spring concert.  ( This can really be a guide for all parents and teachers ! ) It became the tune for this 2023 sermon song.

This is a completely new SSA setting of Crossman’s wonderful text by Colin Kirkpatrick. In this setting there are opportunities for alto solos though they can be sung tutti if more appropriate. The keyboard part is essential though there is an a capella section in the middle. The highest note in the soprano part is one A flat above the treble staff. This is an accessible arrangement with rich harmonies and soaring melodic lines. It is sure to be a success at Easter occasions. Other SSA titles in this series of three Easter canticles are “Alone Thy goes forth, O Lord (Text by Peter Abelard 1079-1142)†and “A Time to Watch, A time to Pray (Text by John Mason Neale 1818-1866â€. This is the catchy calypso song from the spectacular dance scene in Central Park from the 2007 Disney flick Enchanted. If you've never seen it, at least check out that part of it (I think it's on YouTube). It's just fun, and it's a great song. It was nominated (along with two other songs also from Enchanted) for the Oscar for best original song. They all lost to an awful song you've never heard from a movie you've never seen. I think maybe the Academy has developed an allergy to Disney.
