Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1398235 By Chaka Khan. By Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Disco,Film/TV,Pop,Soul. 70 pages. John Ivor Holland #981510. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1398235). I'm Every Woman is a song by American singer Chaka Khan, released as her debut solo single from her first album, Chaka (1978), written by the successful songwriting team Valerie Simpson and Nickolas Ashford - it reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 11 in the UK. Whitney Houston covered the song in 1992 (recorded for 'The Bodyguard' soundtrack); it was a major hit, peaking at number 4 in the US and UK. A music video was produced for Khan's version of I'm Every Woman at a time when the value of promotional films was increasing; the video, which features five dancing Chakas dressed in various outfits to represent every woman, was made a few years before the onset of mainstream coverage of music promos through such outlets as MTV, VH1, and BET. Rolling Stone magazine ranked I’m Every Woman number 27 in their list of 200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time in 2022, so it's about time to get your concert pumping with this fabulous disco anthem and welcome your audience to their feet along the way!

Paul Wehage: To You for baritone, tenor saxophone and piano
Small Ensemble Medium Voice,Piano Accompaniment,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - Digital Downlo…

Small Ensemble Medium Voice,Piano Accompaniment,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534375 Composed by Paul Wehage. Concert,Contemporary,Holiday,Love,Standards. Score and parts. 41 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3396161. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534375). To You for Baritone, Tenor Saxophone and piano is dedicated to the American Baritone Kurt Ollmann, who has done much for the promotion and performance of American music both in the United States and abroad.Whitman’s poem speaks of seeing a stranger and feeling love for this person. In contrast to Poe’s To Helen, which treats a similar subject of a chance meeting of a stranger that the poet loves, Whitman does not idealize his subject but rather pointedly and brutally describes how he sees this person and what feelings (both negative and positive) this contemplation provokes in the poet’s mind In order to reflect this musically, there is an alternation between more introspective and brooding sections which are then followed by more ecstatic outbursts. The piece ends with the poet watching the stranger leave, expressing what the composer felt to be acceptance and release. As in any chamber music with voice, it is important that the two instruments allow the voice to predominate, regardless of the dynamics marked in their parts. The saxophonist should try as much as possible to match colour with the voice,in order to allow the contrapuntal exchanges between the voice and the saxophone to blend evenly. The pianist should play the passages at rehearsal marks E, G and K in a more soloist manner, always taking care not to cover the voice..To YouWhoever you are, I fear you are walking the walks of dreams,I fear these supposed realities are to melt from under your feet and hands,Even now your features, joys, speech, house, trade, manners, troubles, follies, costume, crimes, dissipate away from you,Your true soul and body appear before me.They stand forth out of affairs, out of commerce, shops, work, farms, clothes, the house, buying, selling, eating, drinking, suffering, dying.Whoever you are, now I place my hand upon you, that you be my poem,I whisper with my lips close to your ear.I have loved many women and men, but I love none better than you.O I have been dilatory and dumb,I should have made my way straight to you long ago,I should have blabb'd nothing but you, I should have chanted nothingbut you.I will leave all and come and make the hymns of you,None has understood you, but I understand you,None has done justice to you, you have not done justice to yourself,None but has found you imperfect, I only find no imperfection in you,None but would subordinate you, I only am he who will never consentto subordinate you,I only am he who places over you no master, owner, better, God,beyond what waits intrinsically in yourself.Painters have painted their swarming groups and the centre-figure of all,From the head of the centre-figure spreading a nimbus of gold-color'd light,But I paint myriads of heads, but paint no head without its nimbusof gold-color'd light,From my hand from the brain of every man and woman it streams, effulgently flowing forever.O I could sing such grandeurs and glories about you!You have not known what you are, you have slumber'd upon yourselfall your life,Your eyelids have been the same as closed most of the time,What you have done returns already in mockeries,(Your thrift, knowledge, prayers, if they do not return inmockeries, what is their return?)The mockeries are not you,Underneath them and within them I see you lurk,I pursue you where none else has pursued you,Silence, the desk, the flippant expression, the night, theaccustom'd routine, if these conceal you from others or fromyourself, they do not conceal you from me,The shaved face, the unsteady eye, the impure complexion, if thesebalk others they do not balk me,The pert apparel, the deform'd attitude, drunkenness, greed, premature death, all these I part aside. There is no endowment in man or woman that is not tallied in you,There is no virtue,.

Large Ensemble - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129904 Composed by Wajdi Abou Diab. Arranged by Wajdi Abou Diab. Children,Classical,Folk,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and parts. 215 pages. W. Abou Diab #730313. Published by W. Abou Diab (A0.1129904). This collection of four short concert pieces for beginners is intended to introduce the new musicians, as well as the audience, to the world of Arabic music in a fun and enjoyable way, and is designed to make the ensemble practice easy and productive. Every piece introduces a scene from Arabic folklore, inviting the little musicians to discover the beauty of Arabic traditions and cultures. In some pieces, the musicians will be asked to perform some simple body percussion, and say some Arabic words, which will add some magic to the music! The first piece titled Dabkeh is a traditional Levantine dance that is still performed at weddings and public events in Arabic countries, in which the dancers hold their hands together and form a circle showing a scene of solidarity and unity. It is a high-energy dance that demands a great amount of physical effort and is usually performed by both men and women. The second piece takes us to a very special period for Arab people, called Ramadan. For a complete month, people enjoy gathering for the Iftar when the sun sets, after long fasting, then attending public events, and organizing cultural gatherings. The third piece is titled Raqsa, which means simply A Dance. The Arabic dance, mainly performed by a female dancer, is full of energy and beauty. Usually accompanied by hand clapping and percussion instruments, and sometimes singing too. The fourth piece takes us to the traditional Arabic wedding ceremonies, which sometimes continue for more than 5 consecutive days. At an Arabic traditional wedding, all the village gathers in the bride's or groom's home, participating in all the details of the preparations for the wedding, bringing food and gifts, and celebrating joyfully with music, songs, and dances.

Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782100 Composed by Vince Guaraldi. Arranged by Steve Ash. Children,Christmas,Contemporary,Film/TV,Holiday. 15 pages. Aaron Hettinga #6709645. Published by Aaron Hettinga (A0.782100). This melancholy Christmas standard from the 1960’s A Charlie Brown Christmas television special gets a low brass treatment in Steve Ash’s lovely arrangement for trombone quintet. While every part takes its turn with the melody for at least a short time, this is a good vehicle for showcasing a solid jazzy-ballad lead trombonist. Other accompanying moving lines around the entire ensemble will keep things interesting for everybody. While the lead trombone part spends a little bit of time in the upper register, and there are a few characteristic lower notes for the bass trombonist, there aren’t many other technical challenges making for an accessible chart for a broad range of skill levels. This fantastic chart belongs in the book for every trombone ensemble’s Christmas program as it brings a smile to everyone’s face! * Recorded by the Glenwood Moravian Trombone Choir during their Advent Concert, Dec. 2021.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.839932 By Christopher Alexander. By Christopher Alexander. Contest,Festival. 20 pages. Christopher Alexander #6075111. Published by Christopher Alexander (A0.839932). Henry Van Dyke's text illustrates the relentless nature of time and its many blessings and perils. Â The staccato repetition of time is is constant throughout the work, and while everybody's notes may happen at different times and may seem odd by themselves they wll fit together in performance. Â Every voice part gets a chance to shine in their own line from the poem and leading the other voices to modulate toward a new key center each time. Â Though seemingly a cappella, the one-hand piano part simulates the never-ending ticking of the clock while also being a root to the chording harmonizations happening with the voices. Â A unique challenge for advanced high school and collegiate choirs. Â Enjoy!

Piano,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.1069969 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Christian,Pop,Sacred. Full Performance. Duration 189. Boothe Publishing #4633703. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069969). I was asked to sing a solo in church when I was 9 or 10 years old, and boy was I prepared to do it. I had practiced it until it was perfect. I walked right up to that pulpit at church, nodded to my accompanist to start playing, and then I looked out at the audience. That's when I lost it. There must have been 1000 people there. I promptly forgot all of the words and started looking around for my Mom. Ah, there she was. Noticing the abject look of terror on my face she smiled at me and started mouthing the words to me. My knees trembling, my whole body shaking, I sang every word that she mouthed to me. By the time I sat down I had decided that I was never going to sing again. However, on the way back to my mother, so many people told me that I did a good job that I decided maybe I would sing again. I believe in myself. I also believe that God is my Father and that Jesus Christ , who is my elder brother, is the Savior of the world.

B-Flat Clarinet,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548475 Composed by Mueller. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #3386527. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548475). Traditional Christmas song arranged for Bb Clarinet & Piano. Third verse features new harmony. Score: 2 pg. Part: 1 pg.Away in a Manger Away in a Manger is a popular Christmas song published originally sometime in the later 19th century and performed throughout the world. In England, it is considered one of the two most popular carols of all time; a 1996 poll ranked it as a tie for second place. To begin with, many thought it was written by Martin Luther, but now the song is considered to be absolutely American. The most common musical arrangements are by William Kirkpatrick (1895) and James R. Murray (1887). The melody was first published, as Luther's Cradle Hymn, by James R. Murray. Then, came a confusing series of explanations about how Martin Luther wrote the song. Murray even went so far as to suggest that Luther wrote it for his children. As a result, the song has become known as simply Mueller. Nobody knows who this Mueller actually is, but the name stuck. Popularity By the 1880’s the cradle song was being performed in church. By the 1990’s the song was becoming the most popular Christmas song of all time. It was sung in school, in church, and at home by nearly everyone. Other musical settings The first musical setting published with the lyrics appeared in the Little Children's Book for Schools and Families (1885). The title was Away in a Manger. This edition is the first one not to attribute the song to Martin Luther. Charles H. Gabriel was the first arranger to present the third verse. He also composed and published a large number of different arrangements of the song. In one of his settings, he supplies a chorus for each verse with asleep sung in canon. Another prevalent preparation uses the lyrics to the melody Flow Gently, Sweet Afton. Yet another arrangement dating uses the lyrics to an old Normandy Carol. French Horn,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548477 Composed by Mueller. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #3386535. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548477). Traditional Christmas song arranged for Horn in F and Piano.
