Piano,Tenor Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1335564 Composed by Alexander Burdiss. Contemporary. Score and part. 12 pages. Ars Nova Press #921400. Published by Ars Nova Press (A0.1335564). Too Much For Our Thirstby Alexander BurdissArranged for Trombone and PianoDedicated to Courtney CarmackPerformance Time: approx. 7:00This is an adaptation for trombone of a piece originally written for tuba. The Eyes of the Poor from Paris SpleenWritten by Charles Baudelaire, Translated by Arthur Symons Ah! you want to know why I hate you to-day. It will probably be less easy for you to understand than for me to explain it to you; for you are, I think, the most perfect example of feminine impenetrability that could possibly be found. We had spent a long day together, and it had seemed to me short. We had promised one another that we would think the same thoughts and that our two souls should become one soul; a dream which is not original, after all, except that, dreamed by all men, it has been realised by none. In the evening you were a little tired, and you sat down outside a new café at the corner of a new boulevard, still littered with plaster and already displaying proudly its unfinished splendours. The café glittered. The very gas put on all the fervency of a fresh start, and lighted up with its full force the blinding whiteness of the walls, the dazzling sheets of glass in the mirrors, the gilt of cornices and mouldings, the chubby-cheeked pages straining back from hounds in leash, the ladies laughing at the falcons on their wrists, the nymphs and goddesses carrying fruits and pies and game on their heads, the Hebes and Ganymedes holding out at arm's-length little jars of syrups or parti-coloured obelisks of ices; the whole of history and of mythology brought together to make a paradise for gluttons. Exactly opposite to us, in the roadway, stood a man of about forty years of age, with a weary face and a greyish beard, holding a little boy by one hand and carrying on the other arm a little fellow too weak to walk. He was taking the nurse-maid's place, and had brought his children out for a walk in the evening. All were in rags. The three faces were extraordinarily serious, and the six eyes stared fixedly at the new café with an equal admiration, differentiated in each according to age. The father's eyes said: How beautiful it is! how beautiful it is! One would think that all the gold of the poor world had found its way to these walls. The boy's eyes said: How beautiful it is! how beautiful it is! But that is a house which only people who are not like us can enter. As for the little one's eyes, they were too fascinated to express anything but stupid and utter joy. Song-writers say that pleasure ennobles the soul and softens the heart. The song was right that evening, so far as I was concerned. Not only was I touched by this family of eyes, but I felt rather ashamed of our glasses and decanters, so much too much for our thirst. I turned to look at you, dear love, that I might read my own thought in you; I gazed deep into your eyes, so beautiful and so strangely sweet, your green eyes that are the home of caprice and under the sovereignty of the Moon; and you said to me: Those people are insupportable to me with their staring saucer- eyes! Couldn't you tell the head waiter to send them away? So hard is it to understand one another, dearest, and so incommunicable is thought, even between people who are in love!

Mazel Tov, Klezmer Wedding Tune for Trombone Duet

Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589048 Composed by Sigf…

Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589048 Composed by Sigfrid Mogulesko. Arranged by David McKeown. Hanukkah,Jewish,Wedding,World. Score. 4 pages. David McKeown #6019075. Published by David McKeown (A0.589048). Chosn Kale Mazel Tov, (Good Luck to the Bride and Groom), is a Jewish wedding tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for two Trombones. Often shortened to Mazel Tov, it is thought that the song was written by Sigmund Zelig Mogulesko. Born in Romania, he was a larger than life character who dominated Yiddish theatre on both sides of the Atlantic in the late nineteenth century. Mogulesko was a childhood prodigy, equally adept as a composer, playwright, singer, comedian, actor and impresario. Mazel Tov was written for a wedding scene in one of his productions but has since become one of the best-known and loved Klezmer standards.Mazel Tov is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. After a slow and expressively beginning, the melody switches to dance tempo, with constant variations in the accompaniment. Mazel Tov is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of around two and a half minutes, this version of Mazel Tov is perfect for wedding and concert performances, both formal and informal. Click the link above to listen to a full Youtube performance of the Clarinet version of this duet. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811235 Composed by Johannes Brahms. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. Classical,Romantic Period. Score and part. 28 pages. Gordon Cherry #6402531. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.811235). The Variations on a Theme by Haydn, Op. 56, one of Brahm's greatest creations was written and premiered in 1873. It consists of a theme and eight variations, plus a grand finale. It was written in two forms, one for two pianos and the more well-known one for orchestra. There is a musicological controversy as to whether the theme is actually from the pen of Haydn or another mystery composer. Some are now referring to it as the Saint Anthony Variations. Nevertheless, this 18-minute work by Brahms is a magnificent work of genius. Not to be outdone, Mr. Sauer has created his own masterpiece of this work, arranged for virtuoso artists of the Trombone and Piano. It will surely become a classic in the repertoire.

Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042933 Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Jessica Hawthorne. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score. 7 pages. Gordon Cherry #647646. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1042933). Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) was a French organist and professor at the Paris Conservatoire. A prolific composer, he produced many great works, including operas, symphonies, concerti, chamber and choral works. Cavatine, Op. 144 was written in 1915 as a musical gift to Boston Symphony trombonist George W. Stewart who helped with the composer's trans-Atlantic voyage to North America as the special guest of the World's Fair in St. Louis. The work has become one of the most popular solos in the trombone repertoire with its beautiful phrases and expressive feel. This great music has been arranged and performed for two trombonists by Jessica Hawthorne.

Christmas,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6612923. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813904). Saxophone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Russian Dance (Trepak), from Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's extremely popular, The Nutcracker Suite, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but would be most appropriate during the Holiday season. This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance, one of the character dances, based on the traditional Russian and Ukrainian folk dance, Trepak, for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the Russian Dance for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 2 Alto Saxophones, 2 Tenor Saxophone and 1 Baritone Saxophone, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the Russian Dance, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the March as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of the Russian Dance from Tchaikovsky's mar.

Brass Ensemble Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813908 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6612941. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813908). Trombone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. So, in addition to this version of the Russian Dance for a Trombone Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of the Russian Dance from Tchaikovsky's marvelous holiday favorite, The Nutcracker Suite, will continue to entertai.

Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587673 Composed by Henry Purcell. Arranged by David McKeown. Baroque,Concert,Instructional,Standards,Wedding. Score. 3 pages. David McKeown #4729545. Published by David McKeown (A0.587673). The Trumpet Tune and Air was in fact written for organ, with the melody played on thetrumpet stop. Written around 1700, for many years this piece was attributed to Henry Purcell. But more recently many have questioned whether the composer was in fact Jeremiah Clarke, organist at St Paul’s Cathedral. What is known is that the piece was written for a semi-opera called The Island Princess, and that both men contributed music to the production. In recent years this piece has become a popular wedding favourite. This full version is arranged as a duet for two Trombones and the performance time is around two and a half minutes. Of course, performers, especially at weddings, may wish to abridge and shorten the arrangement. This is easily done as the different sections are self-contained and the repeat may be ignored. The short sample here and the full length version on the youtube link are from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. There are of course separate piano and instrumental parts included in downloaded the file.Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with strict time, full tone and dynamic contrast. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the March for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 3 Alto Saxophones and 2 Tenor Saxophones, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the March, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the Russian Dance as well. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of the March from Tchaikovsky's marvelous holiday favorite, The Nutcracker Suite, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Saxophone Quintet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Digital Download SKU: A0.1108365 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 25 pages. Regis Bookshar #711007. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1108365). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Saxophone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 1 Soprano Saxophone, 1 Alto Saxophone, 2 Tenor Saxophones and 1 Baritone Saxophone, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (25 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Saxophone Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, and also to give them the chance to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (44 pages). So, in addition to this arrangement for a Trombone Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.
