Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1079006 By Sharon Wilson. By Sharon Wilson. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. 20th Century,Children,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score. 2 pages. Sharon Wilson #683205. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1079006). Does this song seem to begin a little too slowly? The first section of this song is mimicking how it feels to be anxiously waiting for the train to come so the journey can begin. The middle section of the song picks up a bit, simulating the entertainment one might find in the train depot to pass the minutes away, but then it's back to wait, wait, wait. The slow section presents the ideal opportunity for perfecting expression in tone and touch. This arrangement is one of the five songs in the collection Railroad Days. Other titles in the collection include: All Aboard, Full Steam Ahead, Chugging Along, and Caboose on the Loose. Duration: 1:50 Visit Sharon Wilson's website: www.SharonWilsonMusic.comSubscribe to her YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/SharonWilsonMusicKeywords: recital pieces, supplemental piano instruction materials, student repertoire, elementary teacher curriculum, train music, train travel, the good old days, toot toot, choo choo, chug-a chug chug

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1079024 By Sharon Wilson. By Sharon Wilson. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. 20th Century,Children,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score. 5 pages. Sharon Wilson #683223. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1079024). This is a riveting piece to learn with its frequently changing mood and motion, like a caboose on the loose! Will this caboose ever come to a stop? Fortunately for this caboose, it's a fun, imaginary journey and the caboose arrives safely back at the station after enjoying a few ups and downs, and twists and turns rolling along the tracks uncoupled from the engine. Have fun with this piece by adding plenty of expression and dynamics. This arrangement is one of the five songs in the collection Railroad Days. Voice Duet Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576909 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Blues,Pop. 14 pages. David Warin Solomons #516085. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576909). I am so happy that smoking in enclosed public places is now illegal in the UK and in many other countries, but this song was written in the 1980s when people had to breath the pollution created by inconsiderate smokers, and, of course, there are still countries where this is the case. So I decided to publish the song even though the battle is thankfully won here. The sound sample is my own performance with some additional (un-notated) improvisations on cello and vibraphone. The pdf file contains the score and parts. The music has also been arranged as an instrumental duo called Laid back bounce, also available on this site. I went out this morning along the way to work when without warning I was faced with clouds of murk refrain: Sing Down with the smokers who infect the air with clouds hate their unthinking uncaring unblinking hate the stinking coughing crowds! I went down to the station and was waiting for my train but to my irritation the stinkers were there again. [refrain] Wouldn't it be pleasant to enjoy a drink in a theatre bar discussing the play or wouldn't it be jolly just to sing along with pals in a cozy pub along the way or wouldn't it be nice to go any where and not have to share with every breath some secondhand smoke and firsthand death. [refrain] I was eating my fav'rite curry but the air was getting thick and I felt I had to hurry because the smokers made me feel sick [refrain] It's fine bright hot and sunny and I'd love to have a drink but why spend time and money where the smokers sit and stink? [refrain] Wouldn't it be pleasant just to pass the time at a social do or a meeting hall or wouldn't it be jolly to dance the night away with the one you love at a disco or ball wouldn't it be nice to go any where and not have to share with every breath some secondhand smoke and firsthand death [refrain].

Sharon Wilson #683208. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1079009). After waiting at the station, the train finally arrives and then the conductor shouts those anxiously anticipated words All Aboard. This upbeat song may stretch the hands with its steady off-beat 3-note chords. If it's too much of a stretch, use the pedal lightly to achieve the sustained upper notes in the right hand. Sharon Wilson #683203. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.1079004). When a musician is also a train enthusiast, the result is a collection of train songs. Reminiscent of train travel during the height of the steam locomotive, this collection of 5 captivating solos is sure to motivate students to stay on track when it comes time to practice. Each piece is 1 to 2 minutes in length and in one of two familiar keys (G or F major). From the anticipation of waiting for the train to arrive at the station (a slow song since waiting seems to last forever) to the excitement of imagining the caboose uncoupled and rolling up and down the tracks alone, these pieces add appeal and variety to the repertoire of the intermediate student and a fond reminder of days gone by when played for a recital. Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1377195 By Floyd Cramer. By Harry Warren and Mack Gordon. Arranged by Peet du Toit. Jazz. 18 pages. Peet du Toit #961811. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.1377195). Chattanooga Choo Choo is a 1941 song written by Mack Gordon and composed by Harry Warren. It was originally recorded as a big band/swing tune by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra and featured in the 1941 movie Sun Valley Serenade. It was the first song to receive a gold record, presented by RCA Victor in 1942, for sales of 1.2 million copies. The song opens up with the band, sounding like a train rolling out of the station, complete with the trumpets and trombones imitating a train whistle, before the instrumental portion comes in playing two parts of the main melody. This is followed by the vocal introduction of four lines before the main part of the song is heard. The main song opens with a dialog between a passenger and a shoeshine boy:Pardon me, boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?Yes, yes, Track 29!Boy, you can give me a shine. Can you afford to board the Chattanooga Choo Choo?I've got my fare, and just a trifle to spare. The singer describes the train's route, originating from Pennsylvania Station in New York and running through Baltimore to North Carolina before reaching Chattanooga. He mentions a woman he knew from an earlier time in his life, who will be waiting for him at the station and with whom he plans to settle down for good. After the entire song is sung, the band plays two parts of the main melody as an instrumental, with the instruments imitating the WHOO WHOO of the train as the song ends. Here's my representation thereof with Sam Harrill's nifty percussion score supporting it.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1305487 Composed by Dominic McGonigal. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 15 pages. C8 Music #894933. Published by C8 Music (A0.1305487). The sound of baroque strings immediately sparked an idea, an incipit, which hung in gestation, waiting for its moment to emerge. That moment came, sat at a café, a moment of calm in the bustle of the street. My blue pencil sketched the lines and layered the harmonies in my notebook, like the movements of a baroque bow. I can hear the players building the sound, adding sonorities and creating arches of melody and harmony. I love the way the baroque violin can articulate groups of two or three notes and keep them together in one large phrase. Chatelaine draws on the heritage of the instruments, finding beauty in the contemporary cacophony of life. 4.20. More at www.dominicmcgonigal.com.
