Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767553 Composed by Mike Lyons. Contemporary,Standards. 56 pages. Lyons Music Services #5827839. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767553). This brand-new piece for wind quintet came about through the coronavirus lockdown and my observations of our UK politicians and how they behaved (One rule for them...) In terms of the music, each line is related to other lines through patterns of 5, 7 or 9 beats (or half beats). Each repetition of the pattern starts with all the instruments in that particular group playing on the first beat. As the music progresses and develops, motifs appear out of the combinations of these beats with each other. Gradually, these patterns and motifs develop melodies which then form the backbone of the piece. The first section (I hesitate to use the term movement) labelled Plotting develops a character of wiliness. It represents, in its twisting strands, the plotting of politicians to aggrandise themselves. The bottom 3 parts form an 'undercurrent' to the music as the 5,7 and 9 beat counts overlap and process. The flute and oboe, meanwhile, generate the first melodic strand - which becomes important in the later movements. The opening quaver patterns are passed around the whole ensemble, keeping the rhythmic pulse going. It slips between the anchoring notes of the lower 3 parts, as well as being essential to the development of the flute and oboe melodic material and stopping the bassoon part being too boring! The long winding, rising and falling line on the oboe and flute is deliberately ambiguous in its tonality, leading one to feel it strives upwards, but then loses its way. The frequent dissonances as this line crosses itself in the other parts represents the effect of all the plotting on ordinary people. Before letter B, there are a couple of brief hints of Dies Irae, but I didn’t want that idea to dominate too much. After B and into C, we get the day-to-day chitchat in Westminster, with interjections from many voices proclaiming their message, trying to persuade their colleagues and just leading to confusion and tonal extremism. From letter C to the end of the section is an extended accel/stretto as the discussion gets more heated. Section 2 is titled Scheming. The tempo is faster than the previous section, but the pace is slower. More motives have formed and developed organically out of the rhythm and pitch patterns. The 5/7/9 cross rhythms are now at double speed, giving a fiercer drive to the music. The bassoon and horn, for now, adhere to the longer pulse of the first section, providing something of a harmonic underpinning. At bar 101, the long but now slightly broken narrative line of the first movement returns in modified form. This now provides a backdrop for the rhythmic bartering and ‘back and forth’ of the political day. The section reaches a climax as the political bickering becomes rowdier. Section 3 begins in a relatively happy mood. The bassoon has a jolly capering little motif, later taken up by other members of the ensemble. There are hints of English folk tune-ness in the resulting conversation, perhaps emphasised by the overlays of this pleasant melody from letter D. Letter E is a ‘turning point’ as all the rhythmic pulses finally align again. This is the first time all five parts have played on the same beat since the opening. At Letter G, a pulsing drone is added to the mix, using the quaver version of the pulse. Perhaps representing the soring of politicians. There is a parallel drone added at letter H, these drones use the 5 (bassoon) and 7 (horn) beat pulses. The result is a solid underpinning of the rhythmic and melodic ideas in the upper 3 parts. After letter I comes a reprise of the spritely bassoon motif with dissonant harmonies as the discussion becomes more heated. The little semiquaver figures have the rhythm Mr. Speaker as members of the house shout for attention. In the repeat bars, we hear the Speaker shout Order! Letter J provides an altered reprise of the begi.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Baritone Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1127954 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,Opera,Romantic Period,Traditional. 16 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #728566. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1127954). This adaptation was intended for a small group of baritone sax quintet, where the original essence of the piece was kept, however, with a reduction in the duration, where only the main themes of the opening were extracted. As it is simplified, it is intended for beginner students of instrumental music who want to enter orchestral music, even in a simplified and reduced form, and can be used by music teachers with their students in ensemble practice in situations such as academic recitals, didactic concerts, or assessment tests. The Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67, known as the Symphony of Destiny, by Ludwig van Beethoven, written between 1804 and 1808, is one of the most popular and best known compositions in the entire repertoire of European music. The four movements are characterized by orchestral homogeneity, being, at the same time, an example of alternation: the first movement, revealing great tension, denounced by the strings and raised to an extreme drama; the second movement reveals solemnity, in a funeral march that rises by its emotion and beauty; the third movement, a crispness; the fourth movement expresses triumph and magnificence.

Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Woodwind Quintet, Horn in F - Advanced - Digital Download Composed by Bela Bartok (1881-1945). Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century, Folk, Recital. Score, Set of Parts. 26 pages. Published by RayThompsonMusic
Romanian Folk Dances Sz. 56, BB 68 is a suite of six short piano pieces composed by Béla Bartók in 1915. He later orchestrated it for small ensemble in 1917 as Sz. 68, BB 76. It is based on seven Romanian tunes from Transylvania, originally played on fiddle or shepherd's flute. The original name for the piece was titled Romanian Folk Dances from Hungary but was later changed by Bartók when Transylvania became part of Romania in 1920. It is nowadays available in the 1971 edition which is written with key signatures although Bartók rarely ever used key signatures. This set of dances consists of six movements and, according to the composer, it should take four minutes and three seconds to perform, but most professional pianists take up to five minutes. The list of the movements is as follows (with the original Hungarian title listed first, the most commonly known Romanian title second, and the English translation in parentheses): Bot tánc / Jocul cu bâtand#259; (Stick Dance)The melody of the first movement, according to Bartók, came from the Mezand#337;szabad (present-day Voiniceni) village that was part of Mezand#337;csávás (present-day Ceuaand#537;u de Câmpie) commune which was located in the Maros-Tordaadministrative county within Transylvania, and he first heard it when two gypsy violinists were playing it. Brâul (Sash Dance)The second movement is a typical dance from Romania called Brâul, for which traditionally a sash or a waistband was used. This melody came from Egres (present-day Igriand#537;), in the Banat region. Topogó / Pe loc (In One Spot)The third dance comes also from Egres (Igriand#537;), but its theme is much darker and its melody recreates Middle Eastern instruments, such as the flute.[4] Bucsumí tánc / Buciumeana (Dance from Bucsum)The fourth dance came from Bucsony, Alsó-Fehér County (today Bucium, Alba county in Romania) Román polka / Poarga Româneascand#259; (Romanian Polka)The fifth dance is an old Romanian dance similar to the Polka and comes from Belényes (present-day Beiuand#351;, in Bihor county), near the border between Hungary and Romania. Aprózó / Mand#259;runand#539;el (Fast Dance)The sixth and last dance is formed by two different melodies: the first one comes from Belényes (present-day Beiuand#537;) and the second one comes from the then named Nyagra (present-day Neagra) village within the Palotailva (present-day Lunca Bradului) commune. Both on the orchestral version and on the original piano version, the final two dances are performed attacca?without a break between movements.

Classical,Folk,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 12 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #728759. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1128144). This arrangement adapted for baritone sax quintet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. The transcription remains faithful to the structure, with only one change in tone, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as being used as an activity in ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Turkish March (Op. 113) is the 4th movement of the operatic work: The Ruins of Athens, a set of incidental pieces written in 1812 by Ludwig van Beethoven, where the melody was originally written in 1809 as Theme with Six Variations for Piano, Op. 76. The work was written to accompany the play of the same name by August von Kotzebue, for the dedication of a new theater in Pest. Perhaps the best known part of the composition is the Marcia alla turca, In Latin America, this movement became known in Jean-Jacques Perrey's version (who titled it The Elephant never Forgets) since it was used as the opening theme of the successful Mexican TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho. The opening and the turkish march are often performed separately, and the other pieces in this set are not often heard.

Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 15 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #730110. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1129699). This arrangement adapted for baritone sax quintet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy..

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Baritone Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129505 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 16 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #729953. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1129505). This arrangement adapted for baritone sax quintet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).

Romantic Period,Spiritual. 16 pages. RayThompsonMusic #728293. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1127691). 2nd mvt Lento - Arranged wind quintet The String Quartet in F major, Op. 96, nicknamed the American Quartet, is the 12th string quartet composed by AntonÃn Dvořák. It was written in 1893, during Dvořák's time in the United States of America. The quartet is one of the most popular in the chamber music repertoire. For the London premiere of his New World symphony, Dvořák wrote: As to my opinion I think that the influence of this country (it means the folk songs)) is to be seen, and that this and all other works (written in America) differ very much from my other works as well as in colour as in character,. A characteristic, unifying element throughout the quartet is the use of the pentatonic scale. This scale gives the whole quartet its open, simple character, a character that is frequently identified with American folk music. However, the pentatonic scale is common in many ethnic musics worldwide, and Dvořák had composed pentatonic music, being familiar with such Slavonic folk music examples, before coming to America Specific American influences have been doubted: In fact the only American thing about the work is that it was written there, writes Paul Griffiths.[21] The specific American qualities of the so-called American Quartet are not easily identifiable, writes Lucy Miller, ...Better to look upon the subtitle as simply one assigned because of its composition during Dvořák's American tour. I have NOT simply copied the string parts across to the winds, as other have done. Rather, I have arranged the piece as though it had been written for wind quintet, so have given the horn repeated notes , in the same way as the slow movement of the slow movement Dvorak's wind serenade., and used the horn to sustain. Some of the arpeggio figures remain, but in a simplified form.and are shared between clarinet and bassoon.

Children,Christmas,Classical,Standards. 35 pages. RayThompsonMusic #6050327. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553894). This work was long reputed to be the work of Joseph Haydn, but later scholarship suggested that it was actually written by Leopold Mozart. Its authorship is still disputed, however, and other composers have been proposed as the symphony's true author, including Joseph Haydn's younger brother Michael Haydn, who purportedly contributed movements to the work.Recent research on a newly found manuscript suggests the Austrian Benedictine monk Edmund Angerer (1740–1794) to be the author. If Angerer's manuscript (from 1765, entitled Berchtolds-Gaden Musick) is the original, the Toy Symphony was originally written not in G but rather in C. These findings, however, are disputed among scholars. There is reason to believe that the true composer will likely never be known, in whole or in part, given its confused origins and the paucity of related manuscript sources.Even without a name attached to it, the piece has become a mainstay for children's shows and Christmastime concerts. Each of its three movements features the sounds of actual toys and instruments that sound like they came straight from Geppetto's workshop. The piece calls for a toy trumpet, ratchet, nightingale, cuckoo, drum, and triangle. ( A quail makes it’s only appearance in the 2nd movement.Noisemakers rattle throughout the first of its three movements. The cuckoo and trumpet  call out mischievously during the minuetto of the second movement , and a quail joins the nightingale in the trio. In the short third mvt which is played 3 times, they all play again, each repeat faster than the previous one.The presence of the toy instruments make this a fun piece for children to play, especially when there are also some toys waiting under the tree.My arrangement is based on the Kinder-Symphonie attributed to Leopold Mozart. It is scored in C.It is in 3 mvts and is arranged for wind quintet, and toy percussion. It can be peformed as a stand alone  wind quintet without percussion as all of the important cues (the trumpet and cuckoo) are written in to the instrumnt parts.i have distributed the original strings around the woodwind, and composed an original classical horn part.Sometimes known as The Children’s SymphonyAlso available as a wind dectet/bass arrangement.

Saxophone Quintet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Digital Download SKU: A0.1108365 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 25 pages. Regis Bookshar #711007. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1108365). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Saxophone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 1 Soprano Saxophone, 1 Alto Saxophone, 2 Tenor Saxophones and 1 Baritone Saxophone, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (25 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Saxophone Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Minuet by Boccherini for Baritone Sax Quintet

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Baritone Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1130267 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Classical,Instructional,Traditional,Wedding. 9 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #730631. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1130267). This simple arrangement adapted for baritone sax quintet was imagined for a group of beginner students who want to start their immersion in classical music, of course with the help of a teacher. Even though the original work is for strings, this did not prevent this beautiful adaptation, where the original essence of the work was maintained, being made only an adaptation of the tonality and some adaptations in the tessitura of the instruments. This piece can be used for professional and academic recitals, didactic material and repertoire for ensemble practice as well, which does not prevent professional musicians and instructors from using it for performances of their preference. Luigi Boccherini was born in the city of Lucca, in northern Italy. He studied cello and became a virtuoso who eventually moved to Spain, where he worked with the Spanish royal family for the rest of his life. His String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5, G 275, was written in 1771 and published in 1775, and is one of his most famous works. The quintet is famous for its minuet and trio, third movement which is often played as an independent piece outside the context of the full quintet. This is notably the most famous, it is in 3/4 time, in the key of E Major modulating to A Major. This is a beautiful work, and not just the third movement, with good partial writing for all. The lovely, flowing melodies and rhythms are typical of Boccherini. The quintet is suitable for both concerts and home performances.

Classical,Folk,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 12 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #728757. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1128142). This arrangement adapted for alto sax quintet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129698 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 15 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #730109. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1129698). This arrangement adapted for tenor sax quintet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Alto Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129499 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 16 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #729947. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1129499). This arrangement adapted for alto sax quintet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement.

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533642). Solar Visions (2004) for woodwind quintet was commissioned by and is dedicated to theArcadian Winds of Boston, Massachusetts, at the specific request of John Paul Aubrey, hornist. Hearing the Arcadian Winds perform contemporary music on numerous occasionswas an inspiration to the writing of this piece. The work is in three movements, each sharing the same basic musical material. The startingpoint for the work's conception is a dissonant cadential figuration from early American music, centered on Ab. Spinning out from this idea, the material extends to incorporate patterns ofperfect 5ths one semitone apart. This sense of cadence is extended in the work to makelarger-scale structures. The first movement, Recitatives and Chorales, consists of free, recitative-like material for theinstruments in solos. These recitatives often erupt into fast spirals. This texture is interruptedperiodically by chorale-like ideas presented by the full quintet. The second movement, Serenata, is a song-like with each instrument taking the melody inturn. Some of the recitative-ideas of the first movement re-emerge, as well as a rearticulationof the cadential figuration. The third movement, Dance, is energetic and driving. The dance is interrupted by arecollection of the first movement's material. The final resolution of the extended cadentialfigurations occurs at the end, and the work ends exuberantly with a flourish in Ab major.

Saxophone Quintet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813602 Composed by Henry Purcell. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. 8 pages. Regis Bookshar #6431425. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813602). Saxophone Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of the Allegro movement from Henry Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. This selection is one of the arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library, many of which are being made available for the first time. They have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The original composition was written in D Major but Regis Bookshar has transposed it to Bb Major, making it a little easier for many modern musicians. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (8 pages). The 17th century composer, Henry Purcell, is generally considered to be one of the greatest English composers of his generation. His Sonata for Trumpet and Strings in D Major, composed in 1694, was probably written for the London Theatre, where a fine tradition of trumpet playing had developed. Purcell almost certainly had in mind either John Shore or his brother, William, the most renowned trumpet players in England at the time. The trumpets of the time were normally tuned in D and there were no valves on the Baroque trumpets, so they were limited in the number of notes that they could play. The term Sonata here probably means no more than a piece of incidental music and looks forward to the style that would become the solo concerto where soloist and strings are pitted against each other but also looks back to an older type of instrumental music which emphasized equality between members of the ensemble. The music is in three movements and looks forward to the fast-slow-fast plan popularized by Vivaldi's concertos. Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists, besides trumpet players, could also have the opportunity to play the Allegro movement from Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet, so he has created other arrangements of this selection. This particular arrangement is for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 2 Altos, 2 Tenors and 1 Baritone, and features the Baritone Saxophone on the melody, but there are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this piece. You may find something else that may suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Purcell's Allegro from his Sonata for Trumpet will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Baritone Saxophone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.957296 Composed by Bach, Martin Luther. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Easter,Renaissance,Sacred,Wedding. 51 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #6748249. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.957296). This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for baritone sax quintet, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire. They are also suitable for performances at events such as: weddings, Christian and church ceremonies, Easter, and academic recitals or concerts. They can be used in music institutions and by teachers as repertoire material and study methods, either for performance or instrumental technique. This collection includes a totally free bonus for you to enjoy: Martin Luther's A Mighty Fortress is Our God, a Renaissance sacred song for choir, which has been adapted for this set. You can also buy each one individually by checking right at the end of each description of each work.1: Air on the G String - The original piece is part of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. 3 for orchestra, in D Major, BWV 1068, written for Prince Leopold of Anhalt. The so-called Air on the G String dates from one of these latter employments. In the service of the Prince of Cöthen, Bach composed not only the famous Brandenburg Concertos, but also several orchestral suites, from the third of which comes the Air on the G String. This curious title derives from a later arrangement of this piece for violin solo, in which the melody is played entirely on the lower, higher string of the instrument. ID: S0.11897772: Arioso - The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. The text is by Picander, one of Bach's favorite librettists. Of the four cantatas written by Bach for the feast, it was the last and only one scored for solo voice. This is a choral cantata, employing a choral melody in several movements. Cantata 156, in fact, employs two different choral melodies and texts in the second and sixth movements. A cantata is a sung symphony consisting of several parts, one of which is the Arioso, which is the initial instrumental part. ID: S0.11899833: Jesu, joy of man's desiring - This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works. ID: S0.11900374: O Jesulein süss, o Jesulein mild - The Jesulein süß, the Jesulein mild is an original traditional German choral melody for voice and continuous bass arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1735. With lyrics by Valentin Thilo, O Jesulein süss is a sacred melody adapted and catalogued as BWV 493. The first translation is by Dirk van Hogendorp, who made it more of a song for the time of suffering. ID: S0.11901695: Minuet in G major - This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. However, recent research has concluded that this minuet, sometimes referred to as BWV Anhang 114. was probably composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. ID: S0.1190375Bonuses: A Mighty Fortress is Our God, by Martin Luther - Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott is a hymn written by Martin Luther probably before 1529. The melody was also considered his work for a long time, but it was created at least with the collaboration of Johann Walter. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestant.
