Bass Guitar - Digital Download SKU: A0.1069949 Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Christian,Pop,Sacred. Accompaniment. Duration 187. Boothe Publishing #4632027. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069949). I was asked to sing a solo in church when I was 9 or 10 years old, and boy was I prepared to do it. I had practiced it until it was perfect. I walked right up to that pulpit at church, nodded to my accompanist to start playing, and then I looked out at the audience. That's when I lost it. There must have been 1000 people there. I promptly forgot all of the words and started looking around for my Mom. Ah, there she was. Noticing the abject look of terror on my face she smiled at me and started mouthing the words to me. My knees trembling, my whole body shaking, I sang every word that she mouthed to me. By the time I sat down I had decided that I was never going to sing again. However, on the way back to my mother, so many people told me that I did a good job that I decided maybe I would sing again. I believe in myself. I also believe that God is my Father and that Jesus Christ , who is my elder brother, is the Savior of the world.

Woodwind Ensemble Bassoon - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813960 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 7 pages. Regis Bookshar #6632963. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813960). Bassoon Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a Bassoon Quinet, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Silent Night will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869659). There is a lot of time to compose when you are stuck at home during the Pandemic of 2020. This is the fifth work I completed under lockdown.:Trio 803 was completed on April 7, 2020Kindertodtotenlieder was completed on May 13, 2020Préludes … Hommage à C.D. was completed on June 5, 2020Chansons de Maeterlinck was completed on June 20, 2020I have always been a huge fan of the Mendelssohn Octet for double string quartet. In my search of octets on YouTube I noticed that there were a number of octets that used a double bass instead of a second cello. I thought that configuration would suit what I had in mind for my octet.Octet for Strings is in five movements.I. AdagioII. Allegro III. AdagioIV. Allegro TRIOV. Published by Stephen Davies (A0.893401). Feature one of your Bass Clarinets with this harmonically lush, smaltzy piece by the Belgian composer Francois Rasse. The Solo Bass Clarinet flies high, and suddenly plunges the depths of its range, all resting on the wonderfully rich, sophisticated chords provided by the accompanying ensemble, a nice vehicle to show the expressive qualities of this great instrument! Francois Rasse was originally a Violinist who eventually became a Professor of Music at the Brussels Conservatory, and was once leader of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Some of his music is still in print. and I would encourage professionals and amateurs alike to make his acquaintance!

Silent Night (Bb) (String Octet - 3 Violins, 2 Violas, 2 Cellos, 1 Bass)
String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813…

String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813994 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score and parts. 12 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636651. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813994). String Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (12 pages). Also, in addition to this version for a String Octet, consisting of 3 Violins, 2 Violas, 2 Violoncellos and 1 Double Bass, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles.

Woodwind Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.814536 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 12 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636673. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.814536). Woodwind Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (12 pages). Also, in addition to this version for a Woodwind Octet, consisting of 3 Flutes, 1 Oboe, 2 Clarinets, 1 French Horn and 1 Bassoon, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles.

Piano Quintet,String Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Piano,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750110 Composed by Bradley Sowash. Rock,Standards. Score and parts. 95 pages. Bradley Sowash #23145. Published by Bradley Sowash (A0.750110). The sound of the 60’s rock a la I’m a Believer on strings – too cool! Watch/Listen:http://youtu.be/4ymcMUO2kUI About Creative Strings Eye players read music. Ear players improvise. Today’s well-rounded students need instruction in both. Creative Strings is a collection of works designed to lead beginning to advanced students through their first experiences as improvisers. Each piece is composed of four parts that can roughly be described as melody, harmony, accompaniment and bass line. All four parts are available for the violin, viola and cello. The bass has one part. An optional piano part is also provided. The the ideal distribution is Vln. 1, Vln. 2, Vla. 3, and Cello 4. However the intentionally redundant parts allow for flexible combinations of instruments. If for example, no violas or cellos are available, a violin choir could still cover the parts. The same would hold true for a non-traditional quartet such as 3 violins and 1 cello or any other grouping. Overlapping parts can also be used to equalize an unbalanced orchestra such as 20 violins and 1 viola player by having some of the violins double the viola part.
