Added by alastair-lewis, 18 Feb 2014 This Musette in the key of D major is derived from "Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach" of which there are two. J. S. Bach wrote the notebooks for his wife. It is a spirited piece with many slurs and staccato. The music has a total duration of 1 minute and 30 seconds. It has a time signature of 2/4. This free sheet music is for solo piano. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) was a German composer who lived in the Baroque era. He was born in Eisenach into a musical family, his father was the town's musical director and all his uncles were professional musicians. As a child he was taught to play the violin and harpsichord, probably by his father. His brother Johann Christoph Bach was a great influence and also taught him the clavichord, as well as exposing him to contemporary music of the time. Apparently at his own initiative Bach was educated at St Michael's School in Lüneburg for two years. Bach is a highly regarded composer who contributed to the development of German music through his accomplished skills in counterpoint and harmony, and his importation of foreign musical concepts from countries such as France and Italy.
