| Added by douglas-brooks-davies, 05 Dec 2014 I have known this lovely Neapolitan Christmas song for very many years, in a version for voice, recorder and cello. I originally made and published an arrangement and translation in 2009 in an attempt to popularise it. It is now much better known that it was, thanks to the arrangement but also, primarily, to the 2010 CD Via Crucis with L'Arpeggiata and Philippe Jaroussky. I have translated verses 1,2 and 7 of the original rather lkong and repetitive text, and arranged the music for SATB choir plus piano or (preferably) spinet or clavichord. | |||
