The Time of Cherries is a song whose lyrics were
written in 1866 by Jean-Baptiste Clément and music
composed by Antoine Renard in 1868. This song is
strongly associated with the Paris Commune of 1871, the
author is himself a Communard who fought during the
Bloody Week (from 22 to 28 May 1871, final episode of
the Paris Commune, where it is crushed and its members
executed). Time of the Cherries was dedicated by the
author died a nurse during the bloody week, long after
