Member of a family of musicians active in central-eastern Lombardy, in his youth he was a pupil of Giovanni Andrea Fiorini in Milan. In 1755 he became chapel master and organist of the Cathedral of Varese and from 1757 he also held the same roles for the Cathedral of Monza.
