Associate : SACEM Born in 1955, he first practiced piano and then entered to the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris to follow the teaching of the Master Max Deutsch (disciple of Arnold Schoenberg) in class of composition , as well as Ginette Keller and Francine Aubin classes of harmony, counterpoint and fugue. Olivier Miquel holds four licenses of the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris in these matters. It then initiates the conducting with the conductor Alexander Myrat .
He acquired his knowledge of French operatic repertoire by the practice of accompanying singers , both professional and amateur .
He founded and directed since 2006 the ResolutO Baroque Ensemble , which specializes in the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, and with whom he regularly gives concerts as harpsichordist . Besides practicing piano and harpsichord , Olivier Miquel is also liturgical organist .
He teaches composition and is the author of a complete treatise in four volumes presenting the practical study of classical harmony , counterpoint , and different styles and techniques of composition.
Author of some sixty works for various formations of the instrument alone to the symphonic orchestra , he made many transcriptions of works in the repertoire for instrumental ensembles of students , teaching and composing pieces in a variety of styles for various formations (two , three, four instruments ...), for learning the chamber music.
His comic opera entitled "Rex !" benefited in 2010 from the Scholarship Assistance Fund for lyric writing "Beaumarchais - SACD".
