Youngest son of WillÂiam ScholeÂfield, MemÂber of ParÂliaÂment from BirmÂingÂham, CleÂment atÂtendÂed PockÂlingÂton School, YorkÂshire, and St. John?s CollÂege, CamÂbridge (BA 1864, MA 1867). He was orÂdained a deaÂcon in 1867, and priest in 1869. He served as CurÂate of Hove, SusÂsex (1867-70); St. PeÂter?s, South KenÂsingÂton (1870-8); and St. Luke?s, ChelÂsea (1879-80). He was alÂso ConÂduct of Eton (1880-1890); LecÂturÂer of St. MaÂry-le-Bow, LonÂdon (1887-90); and ViÂcar of HoÂly TrinÂiÂty, KnightsÂbridge (1890-1895). He reÂtired in 1895.
