ranklin L. Sheppard, composer
of the hymn " This Is My
Father's World," attended
William Fewsmith's Classical
School and the University of
Pennsylvania, where he
graduated as valedictorian in
1872. Originally Episcopalian,
Sheppard later became
Presbyterian and joined Second
Presbyterian Church in
Baltimore Maryland. He became
president of the Presbyterian
Board of Publications and
Sabbath-School Work. And in
1915 he edited the
Presbyterian songbook for
