Edmond Marie Diet, born September 25, 1854 in the former 10th arrondissement of Paris and died October 30, 1924 in the 17th arrondissement, is a French composer, music teacher and music critic.

Son of the architect Arthur-Stanislas Diet (1827-1890), Edmond Diet after classical studies at the Stanislas College, began training as an architect at the École des Beaux-Arts which he left after a year to enter the Paris Conservatoire.
