Giovan Battista Ferrini was organist at the Church of St. Louis of the French in Rome from 1619 as well as the main church of the Roman Oratory , the Chiesa Nuova (Santa Maria in Valicella ) from 1623 to 1653 . he has been part of the inner circle of Girolamo Frescobaldi . The twenty years that remained to him were busy traveling around Italy and occur in different churches (particularly in Rome , such as the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica ) or participate in secular concerts or musical events.
We do not know him no work of sacred music, and Ferrini seems to have been an accomplished harpsichordist , known as such by his colleagues under the nickname ' Ferrini , detto anche Giovan Battista Della Spinetta .'
