prof. Petrof, Peter Konstantinof was born in 1961 in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. He graduated form the State Academy of Music in composition with prof. Alexander Raichev. While at the Academy, he was awarded with the Pancho Vladigerov special composition scholarship and later he specialized with Anatol Vieru. P. Petrof has participated at the ?Musica Nova?, ?MusicExchange?, ?Moscow Autumn? ?Musica contemporanea? festivals and the International Composer Tribune. His works have been performed in Germany, France, Russia, USA, Italy, Denmark, Lithuania and Ecuador. He is winner of many national and international competitions. His work ?Concert improvisations for piano? was awarded with a diplom at the Second international contest for composers and pianists in Kitto (Equador, 1989), and the chamber ?Estampi? has been awarded Second prize at the international contest ?Music and Earth? (1994). Petrof has been a teacher at the University and State Academy of Music, and currently he works in Stara Zagora. He is author of works in different genres.
