About the artist

Sylvain Simo was born in Cameroon Central Africa in 1988. He is a self-taught musician and passionate about music in general but particularly African Gospel, Negro Spiritual and Classical music. Sylvain is a tenor, conductor, composer, arranger, and beginner pianist-harmonicist-guitarist. He does not have an active international career but has performed on major stages and won some classical music competitions in his native country.He fell in love with classical music in 2004 and therefore joined the classical choir of his high school in Bafoussam St Thomas College. He studied or self-taught music theory, vocal techniques, the basics of harmony and certain instruments and years later became a conductor, arranger and vocal coach. Here is a list of some achievements in his native country Conductor of the St Kisito polyphonic youth choir, in Douala 2009 2012 Won the prize for the best Catholic choir in the Wouri 4 district Technical Director of his gospel group, The Urban Spirit which won a second prize as the best gospel choir in town at the Fomaric Choir and Praise Contest. Handel, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Charles Gounod, Dietrich, Giuseppe Verdi, Christopher Tin, Felix Mendelssohn, Georges Bizet, Nathaniel Dett and Moses Hogan.Among the famous classic songs studied and interpreted by Sylvain and his groups, we can mention La Vergine degli angeli by Giuseppe Verdi, The Messiah, The King Shall rejoice by G. F.
