Charles Lefebvre

Charles-Édouard Lefebvre (19 June 1843 Paris - 8 September 1917 Aix-les-Bains, Savoie) was a French composer. He studied with Charles Gounod and Ambroise Thomas. In 1870, he was awarded the Prix de Rome together with Henri Maréchal (1842-1924) for Le Jugement de Dieu. He was the son of painter Charles Lefebvre. After completing his studies at the Paris Conservatoire, he would become director of the conservatory's chamber music class in 1895.
