Jacques François Gallay (1795 - 1864) France Jacques-François Gallay (born in Perpignan on 8 December 1795 , died in Paris on 10 October 1864 ) is a horn player , music teacher and composer French .
After studying at Perpignan, in 1820 he entered the Paris Conservatoire in the class of Louis François Dauprat the same year and won the 1 st prize horn. In 1825 he joined the orchestra of the Théâtre Italien , having belonged to one of the Odeon and the Chapel Royal. In 1842 he succeeded his master Dauprat Conservatory.
He wrote many works for his instrument, including two concertos, duets and night for 2 horns, horn and piano or horn and harp. He leaves a comprehensive method for horn. (Hide extended text)...(Read all) Source : Wikipedia
