Bozza (1905-1991) was a brilliant student at the Paris Conservatoire winning prizes for the Violin conducting and composing as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He predominantly composed chamber music for wind instruments but his solo works for the family are also held in high esteem. Cinq Chansons sur des ThĆØmes Japonais is made up of five movements 1. Sad Song to Iwate 2. Fight of the Warriors on Horseback 3. The Waters of Kusatu 4. Love Song and 5. The Reapers of Miyazaki. Each movement is based on traditional Japanese themes.
