This edition of Asturias Sur Des Thèmes Espagnols Op. 84 by Henri Busser is an arranged version for Eb Alto Saxophone and Piano. Edited by Marcel Mule this piece can be played by advanced players in regard to its difficulty the Alto Saxophone score has 4 flats and some accidental alterations. It is divided into six distinctive parts including a Saxophone solo in Cadenza. Henri Büsser (1873-1972) was a French classical composer organist and conductor and Marcel Mule (1901-2001) was one of the greatest French saxophonists renowned worldwide for his work on the classicalSaxophone repertoire.

Shadowplay for soprano saxophone and piano was commissioned by Audrey Innes. The work was premièred at the World Saxophone Congress XVI in St. Andrews in July 2012 and played by Rocio Banyuls Bertomeu (sopranosaxophone) and Audrey Innes (piano).

Erwin Schulhoff (1894 1942) was one of the most original personalities on the music scene of the early 20th century. His persecution and ostracism by the National Socialists led to his being forgotten for a time though in recentdecades the extraordinary quality of his music has been rediscovered. It was inspired by jazz Dada atonal music and socialist realism. Schulhoff’s Hot-Sonata of 1930 displays the influence of jazz not least through the use ofthe saxophone as solo instrument but also in its pithy rhythms its glitzy harmonies and its use of playing techniques such as glissandi. The Hot-Sonata is published here for the first-ever time in an Urtext edition. Iteliminates numerous mistakes found in the first edition that had been reprinted up to the present day. All the relevant sources were consulted for this edition: the autograph an engraver’s copy Schulhoff’s own copy of thepublished work and further personal documents such as letters and contracts. The saxophonist Frank Lunte from Berlin was engaged to edit this volume. He is an acknowledged expert in this repertoire and in the history of thesaxophone especially its history in 1930s Berlin.

The lines my fair lady   dance over my lady lea (or lee ) and with a gay lady are thought to refer to Matilda of  Scotland (c.1080- 1118) consort of Henry I and who was responsible for  building the series of bridges that carried the London toColchester road across the River Lea.King (Saint) Olaf II of Norway figures prominently in the destruction of the bridge  after its occupation by the Danes around 1013. Coming to the assistance of Aethelred Olaf isthought to have pulled the bridge down into the Thames along  with its occupying Danes rather than fight on the bridge itself.
