Added by alastair-lewis, 24 Oct 2011 This free sheet music for clarinet duet is in the key of g major. The time signature is 4/4. Some interesting features include trills, often in thirds, and a section of unison playing. The musical term Rondo (or French "Rondeau") is used in two separate manners; firstly in reference to a particular musical form, and secondly to to a character-type or style of music. 1. Form: The predecessor to the Rondo was the "ritornello", this word was derived from the Italian word meaning "to return" - this is in reference to the main theme which is "returned to'' once or more times. A typical ritornello pattern might be ABACABA, where the 'A' refers to the recurring theme. 2. Character-type: The character of rondos is generally fast, fun and vivacious. The music is often inspired by folk and popular music, and the mood is often similar to that of dance music. |
