The story is based on the book "Scènes de la vie de bohème" by Henri Murger. This collection of short stories is set in the 1840s in Paris's Latin Quarter and revolve around the lives of a group of young bohemians. The opera focuses on the relationship between the characters Rodolfo and Mimì. The opera was premiered in Turin on the 1 February 1896 at the Teatro Regio. "La bohème" has retained its popularity to this day and is one of the most performed operas worldwide. This free sheet music is for french horn and piano duet.
