Trilogy on B-A-C-H (2017) uses as its musical material a familiar four-note theme: the letters B-A-C-H (the last name of Johann Sebastian Bach) treated as a musical motive: B-flat, A, C, B-natural (H in German note naming). Starting with Bach himself, this theme has been used by a truly enormous number of composers over the centuries. Most B-A-C-H themed works (at least those for organ), tend to be extremely contrapuntal, likely taking their cue from much of Bach's own organ music. This piece explicitly goes in the other direction and use the theme primarily motivically/melodically and as a generating force for the kind of mixed modality that is typical of Cooman's music. The first movement is an energetic march. The second movement is a lyric meditation containing both an arioso and a short quasi-passacaglia, in which the B-A-C-H motive repeats slowly in the pedals. Die vorliegende Suite fur die Orgel ist eine freie Bearbeitung von Kompositionen, die Henry Purcell (1659-1695) - 1679 Organist an der Westminster Abbey in London, 1682 einer der Organisten an der Chapel Royal - fur das Cembalo komponiert hat. Die hier zusammengestellten Stucke wurden den Cembalokompositionen entnommen, die William Barclay Squire 1895 im Rahmen der Gesamtausgabe der Werke Purcells (London 1878-1928) herausgegeben hat. Vorangestellt wurde der Auswahl eine vom Herausgeber nach Motiven Purcells geschriebene Introduktion. Von einigen der in dieser Suite enthaltenen Satze gibt es bereits Bearbeitungen fur die Orgel. Abgesehen von der andersartigen Zusammenstellung der Satze und ihrer Einleitung durch eine Introduktion nach Motiven Purcells unterscheidet sich die vorliegende Ausgabe durch eine grossere Freiheit des Tonsatzes gegenuber dem Original. Diese hat der Herausgeber ganz bewusst gewahlt, weil er der Meinung ist, dass in diesem Fall eine enge Anlehnung an das Original dem Wesen und den Eigenarten des Instrumentes, fur das die Bearbeitung erfolgt, nicht gerecht zu werden vermag. Da bei den deutschen Orgeln die Funktion der Manuale unterschiedlich ist, moge man die angegebene Manualverteilung nicht starr, sondern sinngemass anwenden. Organ Symphony No. 2 (2017) was written for and is dedicated to German organist Philip Hartmann. In all of my works that employ larger-scale forms (not just organ compositions), I am continually looking for different ways of providing the form and structure. My first organ symphony (2013) comprised three larger movements that charted a progression from dark to light. By contrast, this second organ symphony comprises 12 shorter movements that together build a larger structure out of varied emotional states. Although the movements are different in character, there are connections of harmony and motive across them. One goal behind this work is that it be suitable for effective performance on almost any organ, small or large. Most organ symphonies require a large instrument. By contrast, this piece can be played effectively on even a small organ with a limited number of stops (even a one manual organ with an octave pedal board). It can also be very effective on a large symphonic organ with many different colors and a huge tutti. Registration is left to the performer's discretion, and the organist is strongly encouraged to use the full extent of whatever resources are available. With his organ symphonies, the composer Enjott Schneider (born 1950) from Munich has been a profound sensation in recent years and seen world premieres at major European organ events. The Organ Symphony No. 6 'Te Deum' (premiered at Bruckner's St. Florian above Bruckner's tomb in 2008 and recorded there on CD) adopts the five-part structure and several motifs from Bruckner's 'Te Deum', thus becoming a forceful compact work pervaded by the Gotteslob. 1: 'Te Deum' is based on Bruckner's original figuration of fifths and eighths which is connected with the Latin Te Deum; 2: 'Te Ergo' is a 'preghiera' with pleading and praying gestures; 3: 'Aeterna fac' is an extremely virtuoso perpetuum mobile; 4: 'Salvum Fac' a basso ostinato and finally 5: 'In te, Domine speravi' a toccata which, after taking many detours, inevitably leads to the C major.

Variazioni sawiane (2021) was written for organist Jan Bart?omiej Bokszczanin. The title refers to the Polish composer Marian Sawa (1937-2005), and the variations are based on a theme from his music. The theme is a metricized version of the original psalm chant from his final composition, Missa Claromontona (2005) for chorus, organ, and timpani. An introduction based on the theme's opening motive leads to a gentle aria that presents the melodic theme twice in its entirety.
