Written in 1803 by Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) this Trumpet Concerto is a classical piece of the Trumpet repertoire. This version of the concerto features the score and part for Trumpet and band. Composed in the spirit of Mozart the band is composed of:  - Flute I & II (2) - Oboes I & II (2) - Clarinet I (2) - Clarinet II (2) - Clarinet III (2) - Horns I & II (2) - Trumpets I & II (2) - Timpani - Solo Trumpet - Bass Clarinet (2) - Bassoons I & II (2) - Countrabassoon Former student of Mozart Johann NepomukHummel (1778-1837) was a brilliant composer pianist conductor and teacher. Evolving at the same period as Beethoven he became as famous and wrote numerous concertos (for Piano Oboe Trumpet Violin and others) operas and some wind music pieces.

Trumpet Concerto was composed by Bent Sørensen in 2012-13 for Trumpet solo and Orchestra. Written for Tine Thing Helsth and commissioned jointly by Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra Borletti-Buitoni Trust Copenhagen Philhamonic Orchestra and Göteborg Symphony Orchestra. Bent Sørensen's music is not recycled; in no way does it rely on the yellowing pages of history for its musical nourishment. His musical language is undeniably of the present day both aesthetically and technically. The music does however appear to be pervaded with memories wisdom of experience and old dreams of theinevitability of transitoriness and parting.

This remained throughout his life, and he held the post of Professor of Composition from 1966-1970 at Paris Conservatoire. Concerto No. 2 For Trumpet was composed in 1955, and remains highly regarded. Jolivet, himself a cellist, wished to explore composition for all instruments, and therefore has a considerable number of works in all fields. The composer's style is also known for its spirituality, and the desire to associate theeveryday with the magical, and the human with the universal. Jolivet draws on acoustics and atonality, as heard in Concerto No. 2 For Trumpet. The piece requires high, virtuosic skills due to its expansive use of extended techniques.
