Fanfare Band - Grade 4 SKU: BT.GOB-000264-120 Composed by Andrew R. Macke...(+)
Fanfare Band - Grade 4 SKU: BT.GOB-000264-120 Composed by Andrew R. Mackereth. Score Only. 20 pages. Gobelin Music Publications #GOB 000264-120. Published by Gobelin Music Publications (BT.GOB-000264-120). Hymnus was commissioned by the Wilhelmina Easterein Fanfare Orchestra in the Autumn of 1999 for their performance at the World Music Contest, Kerkrade.
The commission was the result of a collaboration between the composer and the thenmusical director, Marten van der Wal.
The exact meaning of the word Hymnus is not known but it is taken in this presentation to mean hymn or hymn-like. The melodic material is organic and grows from an initial unison tone. Thisinterval is gradually expanded to form the cell F E C F, a semitone, third, fifth. The only other melodic motif is the ascending three-note pattern spanning a major third. This is the second of his compositions to use this ascending motif, theother being Fanfare for a Bright New Age for Brass Band and Organ, also of 2000. These characteristic intervals appear in many contrasting moods and guises throughout the piece.
The opening unison notes are intended to convey as sense ofpower and magnificence, like the first sounds at the dawning of the universe. After the immense power, a period of stunned silence and reverence. The evolution of the hymn melody incorporates a variety of moods and atmospheres, sometimes expressing much joy and celebration whilst also suggesting periods of intense savagery or prayerful contemplation. The hymn builds as the piece progresses and is finally stated in its complete form at letter W.
The official worldpremiere of the work was given by Wilhelmina Easterein at the World Music Contest 2001. Whilst the composer was unable to attend in person, he was able to enjoy the premier simultaneously transmitted via a mobile phone from the audience!
Conductors Note The tempo indications are to be viewed as a guide rather than a literal instruction. Within the music there is an innate sense of pulse and metre, lending itself to considerable rubato. Melody is king, and all else is mere support and decoration, careful attention must therefore be given to balance. $38.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Brass Band - Grade 3 SKU: BT.GOB-000495-130 Composed by Andrew R. Mackereth. Score Only. 22 pages. Gobelin Music Publications #GOB 000495-130. Published by Gobelin Music Publications (BT.GOB-000495-130). From the composer:
High Flyers are regarded as people with promise and potential. They are winners. This is music for winners.
The title, as well as being a play-on-words, implies the nature of the work. It is a bright, optimistic, and upbeat piece attempting to depict an exhilarating ride on flying carpet. The opening rising chords immediately suggest the gentle elevation of the carpets' ascent towards unknown heights, leading to a hint of a first theme in the horns at Fig. B. The first four notes provide the thematic material for the whole work: C F G A. A perpetual sense of movement is achieved through accented quaver chords punctuating the melodicmaterial of the first main theme. Fig. E sees the music of the opening bars fully realised, with flourishes from the euphonium and baritones representing swirling clouds, shooting stars, or passing birds in flight. The same subject is developed into a lyrical second theme with a new lush harmonic treatment, evocative of gliding over an expanse of sparse countryside. This section ends with a note of serenity but is shattered by the urgent insistence of the percussion rhythms. The third section introduces a new idea with a slightly distorted fanfare in the cornets and trombones. This figure suggests for the first time that there may be trouble ahead. In fact, there is no need to fear and the journey can continue without aggravation. This fanfare returns near the end to signal a final note of triumph. A new rhythmic variant of the cell motif emerges as the third theme now transformed by the addition of a triplet figure. The music steadily gains momentum before moving inexorably towards the climactic return of the music and tonality of the opening bars of the piece. $26.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

About Jónas HalgrÃmsson (1807-1845) was an Icelandic poet, author and naturalist, who is considered one of Iceland's most renowned poets. Considered a Romantic writer, the strong imagery in his poetry was influenced heavily by the landscapes around him.The imagery, excitement, and curiosity of the universe leapt off the page and the music almost wrote itself. Reflecting on the cosmos and origin of the heavens, the poetry elicits excitement and stirs spatial imagery - ...speeding spark of light, ...wings swifter than wind..., ...I watched the stars...rise from the still stream of heaven... The pure and almost child-like fascination with the universe and its expansion and progression fuels the perpetual rhythm of the work as it continually pushes forward.A good friend asked if I would write a song for her ensemble. The original voicing, for SAB choir, contained parameters in that it had to be three-part with a limited range in the Bass part. With these stipulations I began to write. I searched for something that would be exciting for them and landed on Jonas Halgrimsson’s writings. I believe it is equally as exciting, accessible and challenging for tenor-bass choirs. Director’s NoteTruly consider how the work can come to ‘life’ off the page. Rise and fall with phrase and sometimes each note. The magic exists beyond the ink on the page!Consideration to range, tessitura, and content was all considered as part of this process in creating music that is accessible to all programs and ensembles.Accompaniment NoteThe accompaniment can look intimidating, but please feel free to alter the pulsing eighth notes in the left hand with the eighth notes in the right-hand so it creates a compound rhythm. So long as the momentum of the work is pressed onward, you are doing this work justice. 2mixedCh-SATB (2Sg-S-solo,Sg-T-solo,Sg-B-solo,2MixedCh-SATB,Orch) SKU: BA.BA09188-90 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Edited by Ulrich Leisinger. Arranged by Hans Schellevis. This edition: urtext edition. Paperback. Barenreiter Urtext. Classical. Vocal Score. KV 427. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA09188_90. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA09188-90). ISBN 9790006565108. 27 x 19 cm inches. Key: C minor. Text Language: Latin. Preface: Ulrich Leisinger. Mozart's magnificent unfinishedGreat Mass in C minor K. 427is impressive not only for its monumentality and musical beauty but for its fragmentary state which has fascinated scholars and performers for decades.
Working together with the International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Barenreiter now presents a new edition of this work, reflecting the cutting edge of scholarship while doing justice to the needs of performers.
High scholarly standards, the completion and reconstruction of movements: this pioneering publication incorporates all this in order to come as close as possible to the work itself: - TheKyrieandGloria, both of which survive complete in Mozart's hand, are edited in accordance with scholarly standards. - The first two sections of theCredohave been meticulously completed by the editor Ulrich Leisinger, drawing on original Mozart compositions e.g. the ariaDeh vieni non tardarfromThe Marriage of Figaroand paying attention to a stylistically appropriate and transparent sound. - TheSanctusandBenedictus(with theHosanna), which are either incomplete or survive only in secondary sources, have been reconstructed by the editor.
Sections without any known sources are left out in this edition. Rounding off the publication is an extensive Foreword (Ger/Eng).
The first performance of Ulrich Leisinger's new edition was given in April 2019 in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg by the Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra and the ChorWerk Ruhr under the baton of Kent Nagano. The first Austrian premiere took place in Salzburg on August 2019 in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum, with Andrew Manze conducting the Salzburg Camerata to rousing applause from audience and critics alike.
The C-minor Mass reconstruction by Helmut Eder on the basis of the New Mozart Edition (BA 4846) is still available: the score and performance material are on hire, the vocal score is on sale.

I believe it is equally as exciting, accessible and challenging for treble choirs.Note to the DirectorTruly consider how the work can come to ‘life’ off the page. $2.75 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks

These Piano Anthologies contain pieces which have been carefully selected from previous piano exam lists dating from 1988 to 2006. All of the pieces in these volumes have proved popular with piano students, teachers and listeners, and we are pleased to be able to make them available again in these new collections. Pieces from these anthologies may be chosen as List B and C pieces, allowing students to increase their choice of repertoire beyond the already extensive selection offered in the LCM piano repertoire lists for grade, recital grade and leisure play options. It is hoped that these anthologies will also be of interest to piano students generally. The range of styles broadlycovers the late 18th century to the present. Some familiar pieces are present in these volumes, but they include pieces additionally from composers who have had a distinguished career in the role of teacher or student at LCM. Amongst the former are William Lloyd Webber and Martyn Williams, and amongst the latter are Nicholas Grace and John Guilfoyle, who now have eminent academic and professional musical careers. $16.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks

De Engelsman Bishop Reginald Heber (1783-1826) schreef Brightest and Best of the Sons of the Morning voor het feest van Driekoningen. Het sfeervolle arrangement van Henk Hogestein geeft elk kerstconcert een zeker elan.

| Missa in C minor K. 427 "Great Mass in C minor" [Score] Barenreiter
Solo voices, SATB chorus, orchestra (Soprano solo (2), Tenor solo, Bass solo, Mi...(+)
Solo voices, SATB chorus, orchestra (Soprano solo (2), Tenor solo, Bass solo, Mixed choirs (SATB) (2), Orchestra) SKU: BA.BA09188 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Edited by Ulrich Leisinger. Arranged by Ulrich Leisinger. This edition: urtext edition. Paperback. Barenreiter Urtext. Classical. Score. KV 427. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA09188_00. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA09188). ISBN 9790006565092. 31 x 24.3 cm inches. Key: C minor. Text Language: Latin. Preface: Ulrich Leisinger. Mozart’s magnificent unfinished “Great Mass in C minor K. 427†is impressive not only for its monumentality and musical beauty but for its fragmentary state which has fascinated scholars and performers for decades.
Working together with the International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Barenreiter now presents a new edition of this work, reflecting the cutting edge of scholarship while doing justice to the needs of performers.
High scholarly standards, the completion and reconstruction of movements: this pioneering publication incorporates all this in order to come as close as possible to the work itself: - The “Kyrie†and “Gloriaâ€, both of which survive complete in Mozart’s hand, are edited in accordance with scholarly standards. - The first two sections of the “Credo†have been meticulously completed by the editor Ulrich Leisinger, drawing on original Mozart compositions e.g. the aria “Deh vieni non tardar†from “The Marriage of Figaro†and paying attention to a stylistically appropriate and transparent sound. - The “Sanctus†and “Benedictus†(with the “Hosannaâ€), which are either incomplete or survive only in secondary sources, have been reconstructed by the editor.
Sections without any known sources are left out in this edition. Rounding off the publication is an extensive Foreword (Ger/Eng).
The first performance of Ulrich Leisinger’s new edition was given in April 2019 in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg by the Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra and the ChorWerk Ruhr under the baton of Kent Nagano.
