Set of Orchestra Parts. Duration 26 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 21.008/09. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2100809). ISBN 9790007197896. Language: Latin. The three grands motets, Quam dilecta, In convertendo and Deus noster refugium, which Jean-Philippe Rameau composed from 1713 to 1715 are still relatively unknown today. Being performed in a concert spirituel in 1751, In Convertendo was poorly received; this failure long continued to pursue Rameau. Yet these masterworks are testimony to Rameau's great contrapuntal mastery and contain beautiful lyrical passages. Quam dilecta and Deus noster refugium have survived only in later sources which originated in about 1770, after Rameau's death, and the works have been rendered in a scoring which does not correspond to his intentions. The present new edition attempts for the first time to reconstruct them as closely as possible to their original form. The edition of In convertendo is based on Rameau's autograph score from 1751. Carus Verlag #CV 54.530/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.5453049). ISBN 9790007226183. Language: Latin. The names of Michael Haydn's masses are associated either with a specific commission or with the composition's dedicatee. Thus, Haydn composed the Missa in honorem Sti. Gotthardi, also known as the Admont Mass, for the Admont Abbey located in the region of Styria, Austria, where Gotthard Kuglmayr was the Abbot. The mass combines formal concentration with liturgical function. The songlike melody, the unity of the motivic material, and the balanced harmony of solemn and lyrical passages show how intensively Haydn concerned himself with the genre. Due to its length and its orchestration the mass can be considered a type of missa solemnis. Fugues and fugal movements are completely missing from the Missa Admontis as is any kind of contrapuntal (including imitative) composition. In so doing, Haydn assured that the required understanding of the liturgical text would be achieved. The name of the work refers to the hours of night when impulses buried deep in the sunconscious are released from the labyrinth of the mind. The subject ties in with Harri Vuori's composition - althoug abstactly - in that both the light, mobile motifs and the slower, lyrical passages are gradually forced to give way to a repetitive texture rising from the depths. It builds up to a mighty climax that makes heavy demands on both the technique and the physical resources of the performers. ISBN 9790007009137. Language: German. Text: Bonn, Franz. Text: Franz Bonn. Rheinberger was inspired to compose his first opera by the great cycle of aquarelles entitled Von den Sieben Raben by the painter Moritz von Schwind (1804-1871), with whom he was acquainted. The libretto by Franz Bonn (1830-1904) follows in its essentials the story depicted in these pictures, rather than the Grimm fairytale of the same name. The work had its successful world premiere, conducted by the composer, on 23 May 1869 at the Konigliche Hof- und Nationaltheater in Munich. After the second performance in Munich, on the 8 September 1869, a reviewer wrote in the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung: The composer was able to express the enchantment of the story, its high-spirited simplicity and deep feeling, with great skill, and the lyrical passages of the opera provide the most positive proof of Rheinberger's talent. Possibly Engelbert Humperdinck, who was a pupil of Rheinberger in Munich from 1877 until 1879, was inspired by Die sieben Raben to compose his fairy tale opera Hansel und Gretel (1893), which helped this genre to achieve great success. $46.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Bass Trombone (or Trombone) & Piano SKU: SU.90800002 For Bass Trombone (or Trombone) & Piano. Composed by Nancy Galbraith. Brass, Trombone. Score & Parts. Composed 1997. Duration 10'. Subito Music Corporation #90800002. Published by Subito Music Corporation (SU.90800002). Bass Trombone or Trombone, Piano Duration: 10' Composed: 1997 Published by: Subito Music Publishing Composer's Note: Although composed as a memorial, A New Life is primarily joyful rather than elegiac. The piano opens a mysterious, prayerful introduction, and is soon joined with reflective, lyrical passages from the trombone. The meditative mood ends abruptly with the piano sharply announcing the rhythmic and energetic middle section. The trombone enters with lively thematic material that is richly woven throughout the main body of the work. Following a final flourish, the piano suddenly returns with the opening material, this time attended by a plaintive farewell from the trombone. —N.G. $26.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Trumpet trio SKU: P2.60029 Composed by Michael Kibbe. Chamber music. Published by Potenza Music (P2.60029). Surely an unusual combination, three trumpets. Especially for a fully conceived multi-movement piece. A fanfare sets the tone of the first movement, which is followed by contrasting lyrical passages. The slow second movement uses the muted tones of the trumpets providing a veiled, mysterious quality to the sound. A rollicking romp brings the piece to a brilliant conclusion. $22.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

SST[a]TTB vocal soli, st(a)TB choir, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 violins, 2 violas, cello/contrabass, basso continuo SKU: CA.2100749 Psalm 45. Grand Motet. Composed by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Edited by Jean-Paul C. Montagnier. French Sacred Music. Deus Noster Refugium (Psalm 45). Sacred vocal music, Psalms, Latin, Psalms. Single Part, Organ. 24 pages. Duration 26 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 21.007/49. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2100749). ISBN 9790007197889. Text language: Latin. The three grands motets, Quam dilecta, In convertendo and Deus noster refugium, which Jean-Philippe Rameau composed from 1713 to 1715 are still relatively unknown today. Yet these masterworks can stand comparison to the best works of Michel-Richard de Lalande. They are testimony to Rameau's great contrapuntal mastery and contain beautiful lyrical passages. The FJH Music Company Inc #98-B1134. Published by The FJH Music Company Inc (FJ.B1134). UPC: 674398210053. English. This exciting new overture begins with a bold unison statement presented under an upper woodwind ostinato. The unison statement continues to develop until it is presented in full harmony. Softer treatments of the melody along with lyrical passages full of suspensions all contribute to the overall quality of the piece. Excellent writing! (2:30). About FJH Developing Band Slightly more advanced than beginning band. Clarinet 1 begins to play over the break. Rhythms and ranges are expanded to accommodate the end of first-year as well as second-year instruction. Grade 1.5 $40.00 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks
